Thanks! Connie for doing stamp pad 101 again. I've been stamping for quite a few years, but it's great to get new tips, and reminders of older tips again. I was particularly excited about the old credit card tip! Also, I had been stressing about the ragged edges on the darker colored ink pads. I thought it was a flaw. I'll try your credit card technique to smooth out the edges! The rough edges actually created splotches when I stamped in that area! Re-inking stamp pads 101 was a wonderful refresher for me. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much Connie I have known most of these tips as I learned to stamp (since 2011). It is so nice to see all these issues addressed or readdressed. i think a refresher on SU ink pads and stamping are a must now and then. Have a wonderful day! 🌞
Thanks Connie, my favourite tip was the one about opening the stamp pads. I should be having my hip replacement done in 2 weeks. Yippee! I'm so looking forward to being pain-free and getting back into my craft room.
I just had an aha moment as I just stamped several blotchy images on office supply cardstock. I'm going to use that cardstock up for matting and get some proper Stampin' Up cardstock in my next order. Thanks for the great tips.
I have seldom used my blushing bride because of the way the freshly stamped color looks. I have learned to let it dry before deciding if I like the color, but wish I had known that earlier. Good tip!
I was the same way about cardstock, Connie. I always bought craft store cardstock. I had trouble getting crisp images that didn't bleed. When I heard someone like you say cardstock matters, I thought they were just trying to sell me something. You may be trying to sell me something, but you're still right about the cardstock. It matters. Stampin' Up! demos aren't the only ones who say that.
THANK YOU CONNIE! I was considering throwing my Blushing Bride stamp pad away! I thought it was defective! Blushing Bride is one of my favorite colors but I was so disappointed with the stamp pad color! You've saved the day! And my ink pad! Thank you so much! I truly love all your stamping tips! :)
Hi Connie! Awesome tips! I've heard most of them from you, but this has them all in one place...very useful tips and I shared it too! For me, it helped to see how to re-ink my ink pads. Thanks and have a great day! 💕😍
Thank you for addressing the lumpies and bumpies on the darker red ink pads. I had this and didn't know what was wrong with them and why it happened only on the darker red families.
Great tips, especially the one about opening the stamp pads, I always struggle with this, and have tried your tip, and it works awesome... Thank you to your hubby also.
Just love your videos Connie, so useful! Love your ideas and tips. I had some old stamp pads - and yes they were the darker colours - that were 'bubbling'. Glad to know that what I did was what you have suggested.
Thank you for all the great tips and tricks today. You always come up with something great for us to learn !! I honestly miss the old style ink pads that were linen. I would love it if they stopped making the foam stamp pads and went back to the linen ones. :)
I love your videos. You have so many good tips and you are to the point. I do find the newer version of the stamp pads are extremely difficult to open if you have carpel tunnel syndrome and arthritis in your thumbs. I never had problems with he old pads, once I got the hang of how to close them.😃
Yes, using quality paper, I bought 2 reams of Staples 67lb cardstock and had them cut it to card base size, well to my dismay it is not cut accurately and when I used it for a one sheet wonder none of the card pieces fit!! Of course I can recut the base paper but what a hassle, also I can really see and feel the difference between Stamping Ups paper and Staples, lesson learned! Thank you,Connie for all your great tips!! Xoxo
I liked this video. I think I’ve had all those problems over the years, and it’s great solid advice. Glad you mentioned about the lumpies and bumpies, because I’ve noticed it and thought it was lint or something like that but it always worked well anyways, so I didn’t worry about it anymore. Thanks!
Very good tips, Thank You for letting us know about reinking the older stamp pads.. I didn't know the ink was reformatted. Also, I have tried to open the stamps pads the way you do and can't. My thumbs are double jointed and does not have the strength. Thought you might like to know that in case someone questions that. I'm okay opening the new stamp pads by turning the opening away from me and opening them like a compact and it works. BTW, I loved Gertie : D
Fabulous video Connie, I have a problem with opening the new ink pads and with blushing bride ink but I didn’t realise if it was left for a few minutes it lightens up, thanks so much for this tip, I’ll use it more now. I love your tips and tricks. Thanks so much 🌸🌸🌸 oh and I love your nail polish too 💅🏻
Hi Connie! Thanks for these tips. Thanks for telling us that Whisper White has a coating. There is card stock that is better for sponging and now, of course, I can't remember if it is the coated kind or not. I buy cardstock from the store and use it for bases. But, I much prefer Whisper White
Wow Connie, as a new stamper (not new to card making) I sure needed and appreciated these tips. You mentioned that Blushing Bride is a colour that stamps muddy at first, are there other ink pad colours that do this? Thanks as always for the helpful tips. 😊
Thanks so much Connie, such useful tips to remember! I am learning new things all the time! After using SU products the cheaper brands just done cut it any more for me! The quality is just exceptional!
@@kdarlack Keep one side for cleaning your stamps and the other for drying them. I was given a small strip of shiny gold tape...one marked wet the other marked dry, and placed each one one either side of the case rim. You can remove the pads for rinsing, too. I hope this helps you out!
I know this is for stamping but with the Cricut if you don't have good paper the "writing pens" will smear as with stamping. Thanks for the tips they're great and yes, I learned by trial and error that you need good smooth paper for stamping. ♥
I sat here and tried your tip for opening the stamp pads. It looks so easy when you do it. Ain't happening for me! LOL! I dont like how the shammy cleans my stamp. They never seem clean to me. Having said that, everyone else I know loves them! Thanks for the tips tho, there were quite a few new ones that I hadnt heard before!
I am having some of these problems with my ink pads. The new style open easier than the older ones for me. However I am having difficulty with sliding them back opened. So I frequently just leave them extended & ink my stamps that way. I have seen some suggestions online like: put small amount of chapstick on the ink pad slides. I tried this but it seamed the binding was coming from the flat surfaces on the sides where the top overlaps the bottom. I am at a loss for a way to get the new ones sliding freely. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Have you ever had a S/U Staze on ink pad start to pull loose from the plastic case bottom? My white color pad is loose at one end maybe 1". Would like to reglue it but not sure what kind of glue to use. Also I saw a post recently that told about cleaning stazon ink promptly after use. My question is should I also try to clean the ink pad with the stazon ink on it after each use? You are always so wonderfully helpful with these small things the show us how to get the most from our products. Edeeann
Edeeann, sometimes those ink pads really are hard to slide. I have found that the more you slide them the easier they move. I am not sure what you mean by cleaning the ink pad. But no, I would not recommend cleaning the ink pad itself. That would remove ink, which you wouldn't want to do. And I have never had an ink pad come loose so I have not had to adhere it down. And I do not have any recommendations on how to do that.
@@simplysimplestamping Thanks for the advice. Because that ink is so thick I wondered if it would gum up the pad. Obviously I am new to using products. Experience is a great teacher like you. Edee
Hello. I thought there was something was wrong with my ink pads when they had little bumps on them, like I did something wrong. Thank you so much for clearing that up, they are just fine. lol Have a great day!
Hi Connie. Thanks for the tips. The problem that I recently had was that the Bermuda Bay ink did not stamp to the color that is represented by the labels, nor from the catalog. It was green. I was sent a new ink pad and that one stamped green. Any comments on colors that are not true?
I didn’t know about the cardstock. Thank you. My alcohol markers dry out too fast. And I make sure they are snapped closed. If I primarily use the bullet end the other end I always the weak side.
I still have a hard time opening those stamp pads. The old ones were easier for me. I do like the fact that the new pads are slim. They do look nicer but hard for me to open.
Connie - love your tips. They explain a lot

I still use my Stampin' Scrub that I bought years ago to clean my stamps. It works the best of anything I've used and lasts forever. 😊
M Kathryn Blacker How do you clean it? Do you use it dry on your inked up stamps? Thank you.

Awesome tips 😀 love your stash of “green glue “ guess your ready for a long weekend 😂
I noticed that stash immediately! It's my favourite adhesive
Thank you for the great tips!! Reinking my pads were very helpful.
Thank you Connie for great tips. I had to laugh about the dog hairs. I occasionally get cat hairs so always checking my stamps. Have a blessed day 💞
Same! I get cat hair in my glues all the time.
I never thought about intentionally using the edges of a stamp pad. And thanks for the inking demo. I wasn't using enough ink.

Is it true that you cant use the new reinkers to reink the old style ink pads?
