This video arrived to me just in time. I recently found out I am iron deficient. I've eaten everything throughout my life. After a few years of being vegetarian, my hair started falling out in bouts - nothing too extreme but significant enough to cause distress. I thought it was my thyroid, or just a strange case of chronic telogen effluvium, but I finally have my answer. Your healing diet makes a lot of sense and I think I will try the same. Saying bye to coffee, chocolate, and dairy for awhile will admittedly be hard but I can't wait to feel better and have my thick hair back. Thanks for the video!
I've recently found out that iron deficiency can also be copper deficiency. Copper helps remove fat people cells and pushes that fat into the bloodstream to b burned off. Copper can possibly reverse white hair and actually, if you take copper glycinate a few hours before iron, it increases iron absorption
I found out last week and already have no more joint pain. If it wasn't for this one doctor who did the right blood test, I would've been misdiagnosed with arthritis and depression. My level was 24. Anytime I go out, I smile at people, whereas before I wanted to hide.
Omg I was looking everwhere to see whether my joint pains are related to my low levels. I just got tested and i am 15. Cant wait to start feeling better again. People mostly think you are just feeling tired when your iron is low but no... ive had headaches, been sweating for no reason, the joint pains
First, I just wanted to thank you for putting out a video like this. Often in the medical world, those of us who suffer from anemia are just prescribed iron and that’s that. Not too long ago I asked my doctor WHY I was always anemic, and she responded, “you’re anemic because you’re anemic”!🥴🥴 I have followed you for years and have paid close attention to your journeys because we have almost the exact same health problems. Psoriasis, gut problems, all of it. My issue is, I’m not only bothered by grains, nuts, dairy, cruciferous veggies, nightshades etc.. but also meat 😔 it’s also hard for me to eat a lot of meat because like you, i was vegan for so long and my body still sort of recoils from it. I just don’t know what to do.. what do you typically have for breakfast???
I'm going through a similar thing and was waiting for your next update!! Thank you!! I'm happy to know that you feel better and even if you didn't I would love the update! If you would want to do a "what I eat in a day" video I will be happy to watch!
I got my ferritin score yesterday and it's 5 - I feel like a bag of crap and have for months.....just getting worse every week. Doctors say it's just a bit low. I don't feel like I'm going to live if I can't raise it. Loved your video seeing I'm going to have to take this into my own hands
L S Hi! I was on the same situation, super low iron, I am Vegan for 9 years now, I just got a supplement the doctor sent in a crash curse for a mont 1ml, and 0.5 ml for 3 months, by day 3! I was already feeling better, no more dizziness, headache, feeling so depressed! And not need for meet, so for everyone there are options.
I'm also feeling like crap for literally years! No energy, easily breathless, difficulty sleeping. I have a ferritin of 6. I did that test almost a year ago and my doctor told me "I could" take supplements to upper my iron... I should have read the test myself!! It took a quick google search to find out I was anemic!!
When you took the iron supplements, did it help you? Did it help your ferritin to increase? I just got my blood test and I am very low on my ferritin level. It’s 6
@@marievillamin4433 it did but it's a slow process i am taking ferritin supplements made by Thorne I believe this is the product - at 6 it's anemia - I was 5 now last blood work I was 19. The want it to at least 50 before I can cut back 1 pill a day - right now i take one at every meal. it really really works. www.healthpalace.ca/thorne-ferrasorb-60-veg-capsules/?msclkid=51d6c74017941142c7e6a79cc41ebb77
I have the exact same problems, my symptoms are mostly hair and skin dryness and brittleness, easily bruised skin etc. and I never went vegan , took iron supplements for a year and my ferritin was still at 11😮 I have the same naturally anxious personality. I think this part is very sad because you can do everything right and that stress will make you sick. It's not as easy for me to be relaxed as it is to follow a strict diet, but this video was very helpful, I'm on the same journey and eat like a bear is a catchy piece of advice I can remember and follow😊
Fantastic video / content! Thank you! 🙏🏼 So many of us think we have to add, eg. a supplement, instead of looking at our diet and removing "the bad" - irritants that are not allowing our gut to heal in the first place. I love your approach and really helpful for me as I've been struggling with low ferritin for quite some time. Even some integrative doctors say to take a more wholefoods approach (as opposed to supplementation) but don't look at the diet and what you're consuming that might be preventing absorption or irritating the gut. Thanks again Christine.
But this is what I don't understand. Chocolate / Nuts / Seeds / Beans are also high in Iron, and many blogs recommend it when you are low on iron. Just take it with vitamin C
I think she avoids them because nuts, seeds and beans are hard to digest for anyone with IBS, ulcerative colitis, chrons or any other bowel problems. Look into low Fodmap diet.
these foods should be eaten separately of meals because even though they have iron, they also leach iron from other sources of iron if eaten together, and if you cannot absorb the iron from them because of issues like she has you are not dong any progress.
No judgements as people have different experience and I'm no expert. I was anaemic since a child and did not restrict anything in my diet ( I was nonvegetatian and non vegan). I've stuck to a vegan diet for a couple of years and do not have any symptoms of anaemia. Although I do eat more beans and legumes with orange juice after. I did stop taking iron when I was younger as it gave me bad side affects and just dealt with being tired. Haeme iron is known to be more easily absorbed but non haeme is more absorbed with vitamin c. J think me as a person just struggle with absorbing iron regardless if it's from meat or plant foods. But to me I hope to stay vegan as if I can't kill an animal myself then I can't consume animals. Wish you the best though in whatever journey your in.
Yea the iron in meat and veggies are different. But the iron in meat is far more absorbable, not only that but there’s nutrients in veggies that stop the process of absorbing iron. It’s very well known.
@socol76 I'm not sure. I think everyone's body is different though. I think mine worked just because I focused on eating the iron plant foods more. I do take multivitamin iron though daily with D and b12. I assume if I skip these I will go anemic or something. Just try and see what works for you! If you can't commit full vegan then don't be disheartened. It's about progress and being conscious of animals. A lot of food does go to waste whether vegan or not. I don't call myself vegan as I care about animals but I don't believe in labels as everyone's situation is different. Just research, be a compassion human and do your best! It's ok to make mistakes and if someone tried veganism at least they tried. As long as you try and be conscious to be more plant based instead of full on regular meat eater. But don't neglect your mind and body either. Have a great day!
No need to apologise for giving up being Vegan. It’s not a natural diet for humans anyway, we have canines. It’s rather like feeding a cat or dog just lettuce and wondering why it’s getting ill! Glad you feel better, great video.
Wow. I am happy that you are ok now. And you know, I have a similar problem with my iron level. Once in two-three years, my iron level is getting down. My iron level was 60 three years ago. It was so awful, I feel tired, weak, and depressed. My doctor prescribed a drug for my iron deficiency. It helped me a lot. I did a lot of research and asked doctors about this issue. Plants and animals are included in different iron. The valence of iron is 2 (II) in plants and 3(III) in animals. Humans are animals and we need to eat food containing 3(III) valence of iron. Red meat, liver are the best food with iron. Furthermore, I worked for the company which served blood testing, and analyzed a lot of macro/micronutrients in it and so on. You know, many-many women had a low level of iron.
It has been great to hear from you and to know you are doing fantastic with your health. I really hope you stay healthy and happy, thanks for sharing, take care ❤
thanks lovey, miss you too. And I'm gonna send you your portrait next week, I promise! I actually just wanted to admire it a little bit longer before I sent it to you LOL. xoxo
For anyone who's vegan try and eat lots of beets! I have heavy periods and always struggled with anemia from when i was younger. I ate A LOT of meat /liver but it did nothing for me. I developed polyps and nothing seemed to work. When I was traveling Australia I went vegan to detox my body and every time i went to the farmers market a huge bag of beets would be on sale and I probably had beets almost every meal lol I felt fantastic, when I came back to Japan my doctor was surprised that my polyp was gone and my iron levels were almost normal! Unfortunately its hard to find beets here and they are hideously expensive I stopped eating beets and its been 3 years and slowly became deficient in iron again. Ive been supplementing with Gaia Herbs plant force liquid iron and my periods improved tremendously. Also cutting out dairy and gluten made a huge difference. Everybody's bodies different and if your someone who doesn't want meat in their diet then I hope this helps :)
I dropped to like a 3.5 ug/L & my doctors rushed me to the ER. They were so shook & said I shouldn’t be alive. I also had weird digestion issues, IBS, polyps were detected in my colon when I was 8 ://///
You did not mention diary. Did you cut that out as well? My health improved and iron levels went up. It took me a long time to realise that dairy competes for iron absorption in the gut.
I’ve been anemic for awhile and What did you use in place of dairy? I just can’t go without it. So upsetting not to mention it’s been effecting my hyperthyroidism.
OMG thank you so much Christine. I have low ferratin iron reserves and have had cold chills for 5 years and cold hands even when exercising. I teach Pilates. I was eating dark chocolate, nuts, seeds etc. Now I know what to avoid thanks to you. Many blessings :)
Your story sounds similar to mine. Except my ibs was chronic diarrhea. I went vegetarian then vegan for years and it made me worse.I was eventually diagnosed with UC and Celiac disease. 17 years gluten free and my gut still isn't fully healed and my iron levels have never been normal or even close. I am on a gluten free, low salt, low sugar, very little dairy, mostly plant based diet. I have given up wine and coffee. And I'm still sick. I have also been allergy tested and have no food allergies It may pay off for you to be tested for celiac disease and food allergies that might be where your issues are.
If your on a low salt diet your stomuch acids will be low and then you don't break down food to get it ready for the guts to them get the minerals ... instead it going down in half food form.and rots in your gut and leads to all these problems ... We need alot more salt than we're told . Look it up the romans would eat alot of salt with there vegetables we need 10 grams a day minimum but have alot of veg and potassium foods as well
Thanks for the info! My ferritin levels were at a 9 at the beginning of the year and now at a 7! My functional doctor was shocked that I was still functioning well. I have lots of gut issues and slowly trying to clear out all the legumes, starches and sugars from my diet. Acupuncture is helping to reduce heavy blood clots in my menstrual cycles but I’m still waking up mid night with a raising heart rate. I’m eating more meat but my cholesterol is going up! This sucks! I just want to have more energy again.
When preparing your meat do you spice it up with ginger? I find that ginger really helps with proper digestion which I think will impact our food absorption.
I just found out my ferritin is a 2 and i don't know what to do. Just started ferrous sulfate 325mg but i don't want to become reliant on these pills forever and it's been giving me stomach issues. I totally agree about not knowing what to do because I'd rather eat more meat, but i'm afraid that my cholesterol will raise more than it already is
If your red blood count is normal then ferritin can be as low as possible because ferritin is simply a storage or unused iron. To improve your iron absorption you need to increase vitamin C intake. You don't want excess iron because it leads to higher oxidative stress which results in all kinds of ills. Also make sure your vitamin D level is normal as well as take magnesium and zinc supplements.
@@gigia3401 I think mine was 7. But I get so dizzy to the point of blacking out. It's the worse feeling. I started iron 1 week ago (I've been veg for 12years) I hope it gets better tho
Eat only 100% grass-fed/pasture-raised meat. If you can find 100% grass-fed AND 100% grass-finished, that's gold! If the meat label says just grass-fed, don't eat it as it's not 100% grass the animal ate. I was able to find 100% grass-fed and finished at Meijer! For fish, only eat wild-caught. For eggs, only eat pasture-raised organic eggs. I have eliminated dairy even though from grass-fed sources as I have ovarian cysts so I use organic coconut milk/cream. As long as you're feeding your body well (ie, ketogenic or carnivore), cholesterol is not a problem. Check out the YT video from Dr. Schmidt titled "Is your cholesterol good or bad?". Take your HDL and subtract from your LDL. This difference is known as VLDL. If it's higher than 19, then you have an issue. Most tests if not all will never show VLDL as there is no pill Big Pharma can monetize from treating it, which means it can healed nutritionally and with supplements.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience! Have you researched sprouted nuts/seeds/grains/beans/legumes? Sprouted foods are much easier to digest than non-sprouted/raw, partly because during the sprouting process the phytic acid gets broken down, so the sprouted foods do not contain phytic acid. Other enzyme inhibitors that are also present in the raw forms of nuts/seeds/grains/beans/legumes, are no longer present in their sprouted forms. So the sprouted forms are way easier to digest, they don’t block nutrient or mineral absorption, and a bonus is that they actually have significantly more amazing flavor (at least in my personal opinion).
You’re lucky. My ferritin has consistently been around 11 the past 5 years. My doctors say anything above 10 is normal so refused to treat me. My hair is falling out, have heart palpitations, and fatigue. I’m hoping to find a new doctor who will prescribe iron infusions as I don’t tolerate the pills. I’ll try your tips in the meantime.
Hii, I wanted to add that some of us girls have long and abundant periods and that makes us loose so much blood. It's good to go to the gynecologist every now and then!!
My naturopath suggested the same and I feel TONNES better . Still deficient in iron. But no more gas bloating constipation , diarrhea, stomach pain acidity ! Thank God
Cant argue with scientific data! When I eat nuts, my joints are a mess. I just realized this after watching your video. Thanks for the research and video!! Priceless! No more nuts, choco, coffee or legumes for me!
I came back to thank you so much!! My fertin was initially a 5. I had and 2 iron infusions but my body couldn’t handle any more. It got my iron levels up 10 then I started 150mg of iron for 5 months. That high does on iron only increases my fertin levels to 21. That iron really was hard on my body my blood pressure went up and heart rate!! Thank God, I found your video and quit my iron pill and my blood pressure and heart rate went back to normal. I ate lots of ground beef for one week but I ate mine with beans and rice. 1 week after consuming red meat I went to get my fertin rechecked and it had risen to 47!!! Thank you so much for this video!! Red meat increased my iron way faster than the iron pill with no side affects!!!
Coming back to this video to say thank you!! Thanks to this info,, I was able to finally recover from Anemia much quicker than I thought. I was also vegan before and it depleted my ferritin levels. The toughest part for me though was changing my beliefs all over again and reducing/eliminating dark chocolate, but it's been worth it!
Firstly, sea water morning and night to seal leaky gut. Red Ground meat (organic or kosher if you have access to it) its more digestive friendly. Salads, avocado, veggies Low glycemic fruit. Hanuka honey. coconut products Greek yogurt, parmesan cheese, goat cheese - (didn't eat these at the same time with meat due to their calcium) Good quality liver capsules - 6 a day Organic eggs Fish No gluten No sugar - Stevia, or honey No Coffee or Decaf No things that irritate the gut (remembering this is temporary) I eat Casaba instead of bread. I eat something outside this protocol once a week.
@@RecuperaciondeAtraconesdark chocolate is the absolute hardest thing for me to give up bc I have low dopamine and it's like a drug to me. One bite and I'm happy and energetic again. But then comes the crash just like any stimulant. But without it or sips of coffee I have zero motivation or joy. But decades of low ferritin that even carnivore plus coffee didn't help so I know I need to do this.
this video should be watched by anyone who professes a vegan diet.Anemia, low thyroid function, impaired digestion and so on.Women also have an increased need for copper. This unfortunately binds to oxalates also.Lack of copper causes, among other things, severe anemia.Hello from the Czech Republic.
Remember that iron overload, the opposite of iron deficiency, will reduce longevity. Humans have a decency to overdo what's beneficial until it becomes toxic & carcinogenic as well.
Thank you for sharing! Really helpful info, I had iron infusion just a year ago and I’m back to a 6 in my ferritin, last year was a 7. Very low and I tried so many things, listening to my nutritionist and it hasn’t been resolved. It’s terrible to feel iron deficiency, and by the way o have exact same stuff like PCOS(God healed me from it back in February) psoriasis/eczema, looking for anti-inflammation and and anti-inflammatory foods. I tried a lot of stuff.. but your naming foods not to eat which I am actually starting to aim to eat. My friend keeps saying eat alot of red meat but I’m not really a meat eater or have a sweet tooth for sweets. But you know what, I want to try what you did, because I like to see results! Thank you for sharing, I hope this helps me to get my levels at normal forever 😅
My Ferritin is 15 for 2 years now. But nuts have so much nutritional value. And chocolate has antioxidants. And without coffee in the morning I'm a walking zombie for hours! :(
Haha, my husband and I already call our diet The Bear Diet bc of the foods we eat! 🐻 You look great and so healthy...your eyes are so clear and smooth! I'm trying to do something similar, as I have a ton of gut inflammation due to having EDS, IBS, gastriparesis, and an ileostomy that prolapses a few times a week. Fiber hates me, lol. I've been anemic for as long as I can recall and the best I felt was when I ate little to no fiber (juicing my veg and only eating avo for fiber, egg, fish, beef, chicken). Then I flared up again due to mold/cirs and now I'm back at square one. I needed this video... Thank you! 🤗 I'm. So glad u are feeling better bc I know this has been a hard journey for you.
Have you tried Kefir and/or fermented vegtables...you may have an overgrowth of bad gut bacteria...it happened to me after taking antibiotics for the first time to heal hpylori...the antibiotics killed my good gut bacteria and gave me chronic IBS...kefir healed me in 7 days😊👍
Hi Bee. Reading your symptoms and conditions , I have to say, we’re on the same page. I have every symptom of EDS ( not formally diagnosed yet), but IBS, ferritin crashing systematically, gastroparesis - were all present. Now my ferritin is rising slowly but surely and through supplementation, but I can’t get rid of POTS and the autonomic nervous sys disregulation upon standing. My gut inflammation could only be tamed with Colostrum ( I use Colostrum LD), and a couple of rounds of Biocidin LSF. Now, no gastroparesis, no IBS. Do you ever get nauseated, blood pulling in legs when standing or walking for too long, exercise intolerance ? I’m looking for a solution to this still and I’m operating at under 50% of my usual energy level. Thank you for your help in advance!!
@@asathora1819 oh no, I'm so sorry u are going thru so much w your health! 😔 🤗 I have POTS too and for me, making sure my electrolytes and hydration are on par is key. I always add pink salt, potassium salt, and a liquid based mag to my food, which helps me w the nausea and pots symptoms. Drinking water alone can cause me pots symptoms bc it can flush my electrolytes or dilute them, so making sure to add them to food helps a ton. Have u tried a green juice? It's a great way to get added nutrition that is easier to assimilate, as well as hydration and electrolytes. I do a simple one of romaine and cucumbers, then I add powdered maca, ashwagandha, and a green powder for extra nutrition bc my absorption isn't great. What is ur diet like? Also, have u had any exposure to water damaged buildings bc that can affect certain people whom are sensitive to mold/mycotoxins and create a whole host of symptoms. Compression stockings may help u a ton, especially if blood is pooling in your legs. It should help u with energy, the heavy leg feeling, and help w exercise tolerance. I hope some of these tips help! If u have any questions or if there is anything else I can help with, I'd be glad to try to assist 🤗 ♥
@@versatec1 thank u for the suggestion! Unfortunately, I don't tolerate fermented foods or probiotics, but I wish I did bc I know it could help! I get bad reactions from them. I'm thrilled it helped u! I have a friend who swears by kefir. It helped her overcome c diff.
I grind Kale in store got organic orange juice and drink everyday. Iron levels shot up. I cut coffee, alcohol & sugar but eat all meats. I eat one banana & few prunes everyday my constipation stopped.
I found your channel today, I have anemia. It’s not so bad apparently I am in the early stages. It’s hard for me to heal my gut however with all this anxiety! Thank you for sharing this information, you look so calm and happy 🤍 I’m sure you’re feeling even better now!
Wait im confused my ferritin is usually between 18 and most recently 22 but my doctor told me its in the somewhat lower but still normal range? But I knew I wasn't feeling well for a very long time extreme fatigue, light headed, thinning hair and just struggling to get through my days but since I started taking iron supplements again I've started feeling a little better Finally
Thanks so much for sharing this. I also am struggling with this problem (even lower results than yours). My doc gave me iron pills and I couldn’t take them. Horrible headaches from it. So I’ve been trying to also heal my deficiency with diet. Some of the foods you avoided are iron rich, but I can totally see how in your case they did more harm then good! I’m trying also to eat the iron rich foods that I can tolerate and that I like. That also means more meat! Heme-iron is just more absorbable, there’s no getting around it. Personally, I have to be modest with the red meat because of hereditary high cholesterol. We’re all so different! I also learned adding vitamin C helps a lot with iron absorption. I hope I manage to raise my levels too, the symptoms really suck.
I went through similar experiences IBS a so called antiinflamatory diet, veganism, and became anemic. I began to eat red meat again and healed myself all was going fine until I stopped drinking wine two weeks ago and I realised today I am anemic again. Apparently wine helps you absorb Iron. So I am back on it again : )
red wine does contain iron but also tannins which inhibits absorption. I always heard that old wives' tale remedy of drinking red wine for anemia since I was a kid.
I’ve been deficient most of my life. I got tired of being skinny and gained weight though a syrup and eating a lot and I had strength again. More recently I’ve been having gut issues and a bloated stomach so I started changing my diet. And now several months later my iron deficiency is back lol. This is a great video thank you!
I was diagnosed as iron deficient when you said that you eliminated dark chocolate and nuts, the light bulb went off. I eat dark choc almonds, walnuts & pecans almost daily. I'm going to eliminate those foods from my diet and eat more of the meats recommended on the blood type diet and see if that will help. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
It's weird because my Dr actually recommended chocolate among many other things ( livers, red meat, mussels/seafood on top then eggs but also almonds and chocolate (100%)...). And it's been working. I'll stick with my Dr advice.
After much research and my own experience If we are going to eat nuts and seeds it’s better to eat them with a big salad with other nutritious foods like all the colorful peppers purple onions purple cabbage Mushrooms and other healthy fats like avocado That combination helps with absorption and you are getting multiple nutrients I wouldn’t eat them by themselves
Thank you for this video. I have severe digestion problems - constipation and bloating and I have very low iron levels. I am gonna try out your advice.
Fish head soup/broth in a pressure cooker...its everything a growing boy/girl needs...its rocket fuel...of course eat the fillets first...also you can dehydrate the fish bones, spine etc and then powder them...fantastic for calcium etc...behind the eyeball a fish has a unique type of fat found no where else on the planet...anyway...try it..youll be glad you did
Oh god the head fish fat are damn delicious my sister favourite fish eyes hahah was nice the old day our Moroccan traditional dish we use whole fish now day only fillet which not good
THANKYOU, I'm the exact same as you. I'm cooking a burger today. I am ILL with low ferratin my lips were blue yesterday, just took a bit b12 shot too. I was eating lots of nuts, I threw them out the other day! Bone broth chicken soup is my fave justnow! Il try and get grass fed meat but to be honest I feel like I'm dying so I'm not being too fussy justnow with regards to organic meat. No more nuts n seeds, I'm not built to be a vegetarian. THANKYOU
Thank you so much, I have been told that healing the gut helped with so many things in your body. I have a low iron also even with pills was not working but I did not eat red meat for a long time due to my gallstones. I will try this.
Yes your video helps. I'm doing the same now post-op. However, I I made the mistake of eating wild blueberries! High in tannins, that prevent iron absorption.
If your vegan diet was based around wheat & sugar, refined ‘Carbage’, I’m not surprised you ended up with diarrhea. Wheat/gluten turned out to have been driving my more than a decade of IBS-D (& dairy triggered constipation). In the end, everything I ate was going straight through me. Dumping gluten stopped the D - literally overnight! After an initial several year foray into carnivore/Keto, which eventually drove my insulin resistance into orbit & scuppered my digestion’s ability to process animal protein, I adopted a whole food very low fat plant-based diet (for 5 years) which has been great. Adding copper & iodine protocols into my regime has helped a lot. Hidden Copper deficiency often drives iron-deficiency anaemia, because in order for the body to use the iron it gets, it needs copper to generate Ceruloplasmin, a carrier protein. Otherwise, the iron gets sequestered away in the body. Often it’s not a lack of iron, but poor utilisation of the iron. Consuming foods that contain enough copper can help mobilise iron out of storage & into action. Iodine too is very important, needed for so much more in the body than ‘just’ the Thyroid. It’s great for skin issues too, like eczema & psoriasis. But getting the ‘Carbage’ out is imperative. What we avoid is often just as important as what we eat.
This diet is so hard I’m already frustrated! I’m at day one and already don’t even know what to eat even though I have made prior research. While I am searching for foods to eat, I discovered avocados is high in Oxalate, and you mentioned no high oxalate food. Oranges are high in oxalate and low in lectin and each oxalate and lectin food list I found is different on each site… so I’m soooo frustrated right now I feel sick
you can neutralize oxalates by drinking a pinch of baking soda in water, and drinking plenty of fluids to avoid oxalates to accumulate in the body and kidneys. Also calcium binds to oxalates and neutralizes them. Have some dairy products with high oxalate foods.
I saw your comment on YoSamdySam’s recent video and followed you here. Thanks for this! I’ve been wondering why my iron levels aren’t rising after 2 years of working on it and a sensitive stomach all my life. I’ll give this a go. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! I just learned I have low iron and my hair has been falling out like crazy. Red meat is hard on my leaky gut right now so I’m taking beef liver capsules and hoping to see my iron levels restored soon!!
Cause of a classic iron deficiency : cadmium, lead toxicity + a high dairy intake. Alternative cause : Functionnal B2 deficiency du to low molybdenum, selenium or iodine intake, histidine deficiency. But of course if your diet consists only of salads and fruits you will at some point become deficient.
Including eating red meat, especially the liver? You should recover. Pls you do not have to give now. Eat these with food rich in vitamin C. Wishing you speedy recovery. Know that we are all waiting for your testimony!!!
I had a little blister on my mouth which I thought it was just normal, until my doctor told me it was herpes and it has no medical cure, I decided to try out natural stuff by giving a try to DR Rorpopor Herbal on UA-cam am so glad that I was able to heal my herpes blister with his product. Is very infective and active 💯 contact him on WhatsApp or his UA-cam
@@dania3308 have you tried increasing your level with iron supplements along with vitamin C? Vitamin C increasing iron absorption which regulates it at a healthy level. But, it’s been a month now. How you notice any changes?
People are really ignorant, we all need to have a balance diet, dont eat too much of anything and eat a variety of foods. Eat moderate organic meats, fish, vegs, fruits.
Thank you so much. I've eliminated dairy, wheat, sugar I'm on an anti inflammatory diet, for four weeks. I didn't know about oxylates. I'll look into that
I just found out i have vitamin d deficiency and iron deficiency, two major causes of hair loss. I've always suffered from having bald patches from the age of 6 to the present (im 16yo male)
I've been eating a carnivore diet for over a year and no longer need iron infusion for anemia ❤ my ferritin would come in around 6 on labs just before my infusions.
I’m lactose intolerant so nut milk is a thing for me. I make my own. Coffee. I l love but I most recently switched to matcha. Chocolate. I can’t live without lolol. Uh oh!! And yeah I eat a lot of eggs and turkey and chicken and fish but I don’t really do red meat a lost. This past weekend I was CRAVING red meat and was weak and sleeping a lot, really bad cramps (period). Chest pains. Shortness of breath. Hair loss. Chapped lips (it is kinda cold). Going to take a test.
I have hair loss in my comb. It’s a lot. I know it’s not regular shedding. Also, I have extremely heavy periods / huge fibroids. My primary doctor dismisses the correlation btwn hair loss and iron deficiency. Told me to get off UA-cam. Stills, I insisted he order blood work. @ChristineSalus Curious, do you have a jello recipe? Also you should do a 'what I eat in a day' vid :D btw thanks for the video, it was very encouraging to me as I've fallen off the bandwagon of eating healthy nutritious animal products and my eczema has reappeared. Keep up the great work :)
I have had a similar experience. While I am reluctant to do it, the only way I have been able to normalize my iron level it to eat a hamburger every day. If I don't my finger nails become very weak. Unfortunately my father ate lot's of meat and died of cancer. Scary thoughts. My mother ate very little meat and outlived him by many years.
This video was really informative. Thank you so much for sharing😊 I am currently having iron deficiency and my ferritin is 21. Can you please elaborate your diet, like, what you ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am struggling to choose the food that will boost my iron absorption😢

What did you change
What did you do to correct it?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have a hard time eating meat too. But when I cook it on low for few hours it comes out more tender and digests better.
It is best to check you blood type to see if you are o, a b or ab
@@Sheriffer_Graham why?
Once you go on low lectins foods then things like meat will become easy to digest. Give 3 months of low lectin and this should help.

Really love your videos like this when you talk about what you’re eating to heal your ailments. Thank you for these and your workouts of course ❤️
Vegan diet almost killed me and I am blaming vegan diet no doubt!
@@animalheart398 what are your Hemoglibin, ferritin and iron levels?

Calcium and iron don' t get along
Pasturized milk is a death milk. Drink raw dairy. Bacteria is your friend.
OMG thank you so much Christine. I have low ferratin iron reserves and have had cold chills for 5 years and cold hands even when exercising. I teach Pilates. I was eating dark chocolate, nuts, seeds etc. Now I know what to avoid thanks to you. Many blessings :)
Did you manage to get higher ferritin levels with her food plan? Like avoiding grains, nuts, chocolate etc
It’s not the right diet for you. Eat some healthy fish, organic meats, etc .you’ll get so much better

Great news. What you are doing sounds good, a simple and gentle diet which I believe it should be. All the best.
Its mind boggling to me that anyone could actually think you can get everything vital for your body from eating plants.
This is what I came to say
So happy for you! Thanks for the update!

Drinking water alone can cause me pots symptoms bc it can flush my electrolytes or dilute them, so making sure to add them to food helps a ton. Have u tried a green juice? It's a great way to get added nutrition that is easier to assimilate, as well as hydration and electrolytes.

Hi Christine, have you increased your ferritin levels only with diet? Without any iron supplements?
I went through similar experiences IBS a so called antiinflamatory diet, veganism, and became anemic. I began to eat red meat again and healed myself all was going fine until I stopped drinking wine two weeks ago and I realised today I am anemic again. Apparently wine helps you absorb Iron. So I am back on it again : )
Red wine??
If only this was true
@@chantellevanderwatt7230 only white wine
red wine does contain iron but also tannins which inhibits absorption.
After much research and my own experience
If we are going to eat nuts and seeds it’s better to eat them with a big salad with other nutritious foods like all the colorful peppers purple onions purple cabbage
Mushrooms and other healthy fats like avocado
That combination helps with absorption and you are getting multiple nutrients
I wouldn’t eat them by themselves
you don't need to eliminate them , just lower consumption. And maybe only for a while until levels come up again and you can resume consumption.
Thank you for this video. I have severe digestion problems - constipation and bloating and I have very low iron levels. I am gonna try out your advice.
Glad you found something that worked for you! Thanks for sharing!

Fish head soup/broth in a pressure cooker...its everything a growing boy/girl needs...its rocket fuel...of course eat the fillets first...also you can dehydrate the fish bones, spine etc and then powder them...fantastic for calcium etc...behind the eyeball a fish has a unique type of fat found no where else on the planet...anyway...try it..youll be glad you did
really?? what type of fish?
Oh god the head fish fat are damn delicious my sister favourite fish eyes hahah was nice the old day our Moroccan traditional dish we use whole fish now day only fillet which not good
@@baditube9426 😊👍
THANKYOU, I'm the exact same as you. I'm cooking a burger today. I am ILL with low ferratin my lips were blue yesterday, just took a bit b12 shot too. I was eating lots of nuts, I threw them out the other day! Bone broth chicken soup is my fave justnow! Il try and get grass fed meat but to be honest I feel like I'm dying so I'm not being too fussy justnow with regards to organic meat. No more nuts n seeds, I'm not built to be a vegetarian. THANKYOU
Iron infusions work well too.
Yes they do, but not everyone can afford them. Especially if you need multiple treatments.
Hi great video , but dear nuts we need to soak in water atleast 8 hours before consuming
Thank you so much for this video ❤
I saw your comment on YoSamdySam’s recent video and followed you here. Thanks for this! I’ve been wondering why my iron levels aren’t rising after 2 years of working on it and a sensitive stomach all my life. I’ll give this a go. Thank you!
Amazing! Best of luck to you :)
Thanks for sharing! I just learned I have low iron and my hair has been falling out like crazy. Red meat is hard on my leaky gut right now so I’m taking beef liver capsules and hoping to see my iron levels restored soon!!
Did it work?
Yup! Very fast
This was so helpful! My ferritin levels are also 21, so I have a good ways to go. But if you can do it, so can I.
Very cool! 😎 thanks for sharing!! ❤
Thank thanks omg it's my digestive system been under attack..
My ferritin is 9. I can't get it up. Have celiac disease
Amazing and good information
So based on another video the iron level must be at least 70
May I know how long you ate red meat for to get back to normal iron level?
Cause of a classic iron deficiency : cadmium, lead toxicity + a high dairy intake. Alternative cause : Functionnal B2 deficiency du to low molybdenum, selenium or iodine intake, histidine deficiency. But of course if your diet consists only of salads and fruits you will at some point become deficient.
My doctor just told me to take a iron pill and eat more foods with iron so im here now…
My ferritin is 12 and I literally tried everything and it didn’t work😢
Including eating red meat, especially the liver? You should recover. Pls you do not have to give now. Eat these with food rich in vitamin C. Wishing you speedy recovery. Know that we are all waiting for your testimony!!!
@@elvisedimo5694 I will thx
I could not find the xtra info. No descroptionbox. Only the transcript. Need the onfo on the home iron test. Thnx
I'll look into that
Congrats!
Congratulations!
Thank you so much! I needed this!!!
I just found out i have vitamin d deficiency and iron deficiency, two major causes of hair loss. I've always suffered from having bald patches from the age of 6 to the present (im 16yo male)
How’s it going now
How long did you let your stomach heal?
I've been eating a carnivore diet for over a year and no longer need iron infusion for anemia ❤ my ferritin would come in around 6 on labs just before my infusions.
Here are my results:
Iron Bind Cap (TIBC) 317
UIBC 211
Iron 106
Iron Saturation 33
Ferritin 22
A dermatologist said I have alopecia. No I don’t . I saw a hair stylist confirmed, there’s no scalp scarring or alopecia. I firmly believe, this hair loss is due to low iron and low ferritin. Also, is there any relationship btwn anxiety and low iron?
I had a blood test showing a low platelet count, my Dr. said it could be an iron deficiency. I am trying to fix it between supplements and adding more iron in my diet. I can’t stand the fatigue i am wondering how long it will take to fix this.
Hi drink beet juice daily it will help, it helped me
How you doing now
The body deals with Iron Meat and Iron Vegetables different.
Heme - Meat Iron. (Veal - Liver) 50% Absorption
Non-Heme - Plant Iron. Vegetable-Beets-Seeds (10% - Absortion)
When did you record this how many months did it take to raise levels
Thank you, you saved my life thank you
Very informative!! Wow
What is healthy jello and what probiotics did you take ?
Thank you for sharing your own experience, I think it's really important to learn about what worked for other persons with same diseases.
… For your sluggish digestion I would add dried plums and Kefir …
This video was really informative. Thank you so much for sharing😊 I am currently having iron deficiency and my ferritin is 21. Can you please elaborate your diet, like, what you ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am struggling to choose the food that will boost my iron absorption😢
Do you check your cholesterol? To make sure everything looks good and balanced? Thanks for sharing
digestive enzymes and betaine HCL worked wonders on my gut. I'm anxiously waiting to see what my ferritin levels are
how are they??
