Merci Gary I appreciate your video and the way you present the information. Winter season is ending and after I will have to give a eye to the clutch. Talk to you then.
Gary, great video. You have made me less fearful of changing a clutch in the field. If you are ever in the Denver/Rocky Mountains riding let us know and we can try and link up.
Do you know anything about a high pitch whining noise at around 25 to 35 mph 2008 800 RZR, I have noticed several different people exhibit the same thing but yet nobody can come up with an explanation. I think it is tied to the clutch or transmission but?
Hi Gary, I have what seems to be excess space between my belt and sheathes approximately .075" on each side. Is this to much spacing? If so is there shims in the primary clutch that can be removed in order to close that gap up?
Gary Madsen Yea, mine was still good too. I just pulled off the cover last night & lo-n-behold, my belt was spaced just like this one before you removed 1 of the 2 spacers. So I took off the 2ndary clutch & there were 2 spacers!! slid 1 off, put all back together & no more squeaking.
Just as a heads up out there, he said 17 ft./lbs, or 204 ft/lbs on his torque wrench, when he meant 204 inch/lbs. I'm sure most of you caught it, but, just in case
Great tips but heres another!! Use your old belt hook it on secondary pull hard it will open sheaves now take new belt hook around primary hook to secondary still using old belt on bottom corner of secondary to hold it open POP ON NEW BELT SO EASY NL BELT DAMAGE !!
Worst belt location on any atv ever designed ! Pretty much unserviceable on the trail....oh and he missed the part where you have to remove the entire underbelly skid plate to track those bottom 10 mm bolts on the cover!
i dont want to tell you your business but i think by removing a shim from the secondary clutch it will pull it in and not the primary. shoulden't you be removing a primary shim to pull that assembly more inboard to lesson the space on the outside edge of the belt on the primary clutch ? i think you got it backwards . at the end of your vid you never show a close up of the end results
Brother this is the first video I have seen step-by-step. Good job. I have looked at quite a few. Thank you very much!

Ive heard, that when you get a lot of whining, its time to change the belt.
Nice video Sir.
Sometimes my rzr800 has trouble shifting, if I rev it a little, will immediately go in gear no problem. Could my belt be out of alignment?
It probably is your belt out of alignment

Great tip!
Is there any circumstances were you've had to add spacers?
There are usually 2 spacers from the factory and so far always had to remove 1 spacer
I found my problem, 09 800s. The primary bearing is froze up and one of my clips is gone :( any idea on a price to fix it?
thanks
Gary, that is a great looking cargo rack, can you tell us where to find one?
