i’ve been a whacka fan for many many years i screamed when i found out about this and made me overjoyed being a whacka fan felt like it finally paid off and felt like a massive “I TOLD YOU SO” so everyone i knew
the fight is quite fun it hurt me inside to whack him to make him appear in the pit but at least it’s implied that whacka is just having fun when you fight him
@@PrinceWhacka Yeah, I never did like whacking Whackas. They’re just vibing. I’ve only done it for what’s required in filling out the Cookbooks beforehand, but having to make one go into retirement wasn’t pleasant, I’m with you there.
There was actually code for a Whacka battle back in Paper Mario 64, but it never made it into the game on release. Nice to see that they brought it back for the TTYD remake.
Of course Whacka is eternal, it's technically a boss, but at the same time one of the only 3 that can be fought multiple times optionally (ignoring every battle that story-wise requires you to fight it more than once, but not story bosses that can optionally be refought). Whacka every time you reach the bottom of the pit once it starts spawning there. Prince Mush once you get the invitation to battle. and Rawk Hawk of all people via exhibition match as you need to defeat him once for story, then another if you wish to become champion again, and then you get access to multiple rematches.
Update: I went multiple times in the Pit of 100 Trials with the Money Badge on and farmed enough Coins to get 50 Power Rush Badges, dealing 99 Damage on anything with an Defense of 4 or less I fought and beat it multiple Times already(Thanks to my Danger Mario build, dealing over 40 Damage per jump Attack Hit)
love how this boss not only punishes you for attacking it. can hit itself if you're not attacking it. but also has a theme that starts very ominous, then turns to something where you'd start thinking: 'wait what?'
This little Diglett/Quagsire fusion has more health than the Shadow Queen. Let that sink it. I love how the music starts off with a grandiose choir, then metal, before going full goof mode.
@@sythrus Dunno bout the remake but in the OG she has 150 and triggers a cutscene when shes at 90 or below. You CANNOT oneshot her in 1st phase as she will always reset in that cutscene to 90. Trust me, I tried with a lot of Charges
I just feel the need to point out that someone in chat said that OwO and UwU have been added to the official International English Scrabble dictionary.
This was the absolute hardest fight in the game, I had to pull of like 8 superguards in a row for just one turn to live... and then AFTER the fight I learned you can just hide with Vivian every turn to avoid any damage...
...now ain't this a fine how do you do? I had no clue Whacka fights you after having enough of your harvesting bs. Mainly because I'd never wanna cause extinction!
They are in the Pit of 100 Trials at Floor 100. Have to hammer enough to make them not appear anymore on Keelhaul Key and I think, be post-game. Have to get a message telling that Whacka is there. Also, you have to defeat the Pit's boss. Whacka can be fought as many times as you like as long as you are willing to brave the Pit again. They do give you the option to pay coins to skip the first 50 floors after beating the Pit once. First time gives a gold bump which is a trophy item put in key items inventory while subsequent victories give another bump.
Hot take: He should’ve had at least as much HP as Bonetail, in part because of how much EXP a lap of the Pit can get you. I had more trouble against Amazy Dayzees in my Bonetail lap.
@@MrChummingtonYeah he actively punishes you for using multi-hit strategies like Power Bounce because each hit generates a Whacka Bump, I believe the regular ones heal 25 HP and the rare red ones heal him for 99
Fun fact: Each slap Ms Mouze does when using her regular attack creates a bump. 3 slaps and only the 3rd does damage. That gives Whacka 2 more bumps to use than if you used other single hit moves.
Tip to beat whacka easily : -Get as many good healing items as you can (and Fp) -Equip the multi jump badge (blue shoe i think) and as many power up badges (red badge) as you can, plus the "jump only" badge, you'll first have to jump many times onto whacka like this to make several damage -next, since whacka loses a bump (yellow and red, red being very dangerous) each time you jump on it, once your turns will be over, he'll use all the bumps on the ground to throw them at you. To parry his bumps, you have 2 options: either you pair up with vivian to hide in her shadow after mario did his jumps, thus dodging all bumps; OR if you're skilled enough, perform super guards. -Repeat those attacks/actions and you'll get the win
Don't you just love it when a silly little goober of a character has such an _unhinged_ battle theme?
(Whacks Whacka)
Whacka: "So you have chosen death."
The theme that doesn't know whether to be serious or goofy, tries both and somehow works perfectly.
It's a perfect theme for a creature that could end you in a heartbeat, if it so desired... but it only wants to play.

The opening of this song has serious "the final boss descending from the sky" vibes.
Although in this case its more 'rising from the depths of the earth'
