For those interested, part two of this song samples a song from the 1920s called 'When You Get What You Want You Dont Want It' which is a song about a spoiled child who throws away their toys when they get them. Which is pretty apt for Pizzahead, owning a whole Pizza Tower and yet wanting to destroy Peppino's little pizzeria just because he can/out of spite.

adding onto this: in the beginning of phase 2's final boss, pizzahead throws a gun away for peppino to grab and consistently throws away items during his fight, staying in theme with his wastefulness and the sample used

So, every boss in this game has an “enraged” second phase.
The reason Peppino is able to absolutely destroy the bosses in phase 3 is because *Peppino just entered his second phase.*
Imagine what if there was a New Game Plus option where when Peppino's health is depleted,he becomes enraged giving an easier time for people who find this mode too hard

Yeah it goes from goofy to the epic, and with references to "Pizza Time!" which is his escape theme. because now, HE IS THE BOSS FIGHT
Especially when you hear the "Death I deservioli" motif.
I never thought about this but the move where Pizzahead pulls up an entire chunk of the tower is from him trying to use the sword in the stone powerup...something Peppino can do with ease and yet he's completely unable to as if he's unworthy of using it.
it's kinda weird, cause there was a design for the noise using the power up for cooperative mode, and he is an asshole too, (but he uses a fork instead of a sword, so he is also unworthy, i guess)

This OST is, as you said, "Peppino is mad". In the game, Peppino is in a permenant state of anxiety and stress, constantly uneased and worried about what's to come, screaming in terror when a boss shows up. Few things have a bigger unexpectancy than the amount of time it takes to make a pizza, but this… this does put an unexpected smile on my face.
I kind of hope people don’t spoil the game for Jerod since he just started playing Pizza Tower, but I can already see people name-drop a certain character. Hopefully the feeling of surprise and, well, *Unexpectancy* is retained when he gets to the part of the game where this plays.

Pizza Tower actually changed the way I draw Spamton because I realized he looks perfect in the ‘if Ren & Stimpy was made in ms paint’ art style, and I also noticed both use the SMG soundfont, so in my mind Pizza Tower and Deltarune aren’t that far from each other.

@@T_Dude It could be either one; the particular bit that he mimicked is actually Flowey/Asriel's leitmotif, and that rhythm appears in almost every piece of music associated with the character. It's slowed down considerably in Flowey's usual theme, but if you speed it up you'll hear it instantly. Undertale's soundtrack is a case study in how much careful use of leitmotifs improve any soundtrack. (For that matter, Pizza Tower is another - part of why Phase 3 hits so hard is because Peppino's leitmotif comes in; it's also heard in tracks like The Death That I Deservioli and the intro theme.)

When final boss themes have that part near the end where they pull a bunch of leitmotifs from earlier in the game to show that it’s the culmination of everything so far is my favorite

@@snowyvul I am a musician. I know what music theory is. And here its more of tempo music theory. Its easier to play, but it does need a lot of practice to feel the rhytm. I know how to play a similar thing to this on an accordion. Its just learning a few chords and playing them to fit to someone singing. It's more of improvisation than music theory.

There's this one upload of Unexpectancy from a UA-cam channel called "Mosscreepyboi", and I was secretly hoping Jerod would drum to that version, since while the one uploaded by Gallant Goon is more popular and probably the one most people listened to, I'm not a huge fan of the way they connected each part of the song. Mosscreepyboi has each part play out in their entirety and the transition between phases is a lot more seemless compared to Gallant Goon's version. The result is that Mosscreepyboi's version is 10 minutes long whereas Gallant Goon's version is 9 minutes long.
That said, I don't think it would have made that much of a difference, since Jerod kept getting thrown for a loop with how crazy this song gets. And believe me, if you think the song is crazy, you should see the final boss fight it plays on!
