Well to be fair he still has to be hella old to use it to a maximum, I like the idea behind the older his kind is, the more powerful they become; I think that lore alone is good
I just wanna remind you all how convenient it was when Goku asked the bad guys to fight in a non populated zone and they just agreed like it was nothing
Reminder that planet Namek was destroyed and all life on it eradicated. Reminder that during the Cell Saga the world faced the wrath of superpowerful robots that wiped off a city of no survivors, a green monster that cleared several cities of any trace of humans and overall anarchy pretty much worldwide with a chance of planetary destruction twice. Reminder that in future trunks's reality where there weren't ex-machina dragon balls, warriors to stop the world from becoming a wasteland and a sandbox to the androids that one could describe as Omni-Man, Titan, Evil Superman, etc. And in the Buu Saga, anarchy errupts again, and the human race goes extinct. (Also head explosion) Well, also in the sayian invasion saga, Nappa went on a joyride destroying earth's militaries like that one jet scene in omni-man. And Vegeta probably didn't care about where they fought as long as he could just kill Goku and go on with wiping out the planet. Also the Sayian pride revolving around constant fighting and finding tougher and tougher opponents.
My favourite thing about the show is Mark, he gets beaten up for the entire show but still stands up to his dad. That is what makes him invincible to me
Imagine putting invincible on for your 6 year old and you go to work and then come home to him watching people get holes punched through their stomach's or some shit
He can be physically broken, but stands mentally unshaken. Notice how he retains his character even while his dad is beating the shit out of him, or how he still cares for people even after the train scene. He doesnt win any major fights singlehandedly throughout the show, leaving him wounded and beat up, but it's his mind that remains invincible.
@@hannibalburgers477 I know right. Hes one of those actors that could pull off literally anything. You could cast him as a tellatubby and he'd kill it.
The voice acting really ties the show together in my opinion. They main cast really nails it, and JK Simmons is so effortlessly intimidating as Omniman. Every scene he's in he has this tense presence like shit could hit the fan at any moment
Javier Nunez Homelander doesnt have any cringe dialogue, if by cringe you mean cheesy. If you mean unnerving, then yeah because that’s the point of his character lmao. He’s supposed to intimidate you
That one bit of dialog gave it away for me. Once Debbie said that Omni-Man was speaking about "home", I just knew it. But for the not as sharp, I'd imagine it was a great twist.
The Mauler Twins are my favorite characters. Despite looking like Brute Meatheads, they're actually pretty smart, professional and shows hints of compassion at times.
Yup, normally typical duo partners are portrayed as which one is the brains and the other the brawn. Mauler twins on the other hand, they both *are* the brains and brawn.
The only thing that really annoyed me is when Amber got pissed off at Invincible for "running away" when he went off to fight the cyborg creature. Then, she admits that she knew that he was a superhero the entire time. Why did you get mad at him for saving your ass then?
Because mark wanted her to have the impression that she didn't know 🤣so he's gave the reaction she would give if she didn't know. Thus Mark can't complain
i was scared they were going to pull the "Oh, person 1 loves person 2, but person 3 loves person 1" kinda thing, but im glad it didnt go in that direction
It's not really complex since it's in basically ever superhero cartoon especially ones that involve highschool. I think the love subplot is kinda not that good and kinda distracting.
Fr I watched the first episode thinking that it would be childish but like what got me even more than Omni man killing the superhero’s was when invincible killed the old lady on accident like Jesus
I'll defend amber forever. People just get so invested in Mark because he's relatable. Trying to fit together school, work, family, friends and romance? We wanna cut the guy some especially given that he's an awesome superhero. Still, fact of the matter is that Mark was EXTREMELY selfish with Amber and of course it makes her feel humiliated. Mark can't just string a girl along and keep making promises to her he knows he can't fulfill. He either had to trust Amber or end it. Instead he chose to lie and make her feel worthless. He's lucky Amber gave him as many chances as he did. I be honest, the fact that so many people can't recognize Mark's selfishness speaks to the selfishness of these people. "It's okay if I make my girlfriend feel unimportant as long as I spare her from the dangers of knowing my secrets". NO! Absolutely no! You have a third option involving ending the relationship, but you're too scared of being alone and selfish to make that choice.
@@oOPPHOo that's a problem with the couple, they shouldn't have to end fine in the end because Mark and Amber were selfish, but its not a problem with Amber its a problem of how poorly written that couple was, still good writing tho
@@elmaionesosexo It's written great if you ask me. It gives Mark and thereby the audience an learning experience. A much needed one too. The only critique I have from a writing viewpoint is that it's a bit too obvious that Amber is just Mark's guinea pig. A way for him to get his feet wet when it comes to relationships before eventually pairing up with Eve.
Yea, that was epic! But it seems like lots of people haven't noticed that he's beein in that world for an entire Earth's day, which would've been hundreds of years in that different dimention and he didn't even look older when after he was back and shaved! I’m still baffled by the fact that amber knew mark was invincible at the college but she still got mad he changed into his costume and saved their lives
I'm convinced that every person who doesn't understand Amber's POV has never been in a long enough relationship to relate to those moments or has the emotional maturity of a puppy.
@@geordiejones5618 Actually, the people who relate to Amber are probably narcissists, so you might wanna get that checked out. And this is from someone who's been in a relationship for nearly four years.
@@ArukiTsukaru You are just wrong. People who thinks the only people who relate to Amber are narcissists would ironically struggle to understand what it feels like to be in another person's shoes in that situation of a relationship realistically. A shame that 4 years still hasn't taught you how to actually understand how relationship works.
@LunaUsagi Ok so, Mark has his chest caved in, his skull shattered, witnesses two people get hospitalized, his arm splintered so that it bends 5 ways instead of 2, witnesses his friend get tortured, and a half dozen people get tortured in the same way to the point that none of them are considered human anymore and one even commits suicide due to it, watches hundreds of people die like ants being burned with a lighter, and Amber's response is: "You should've been giving me attention!!!" And not to mention, after she tries to cheat on him, his own dad nearly murders him by using him as a weapon, throwing him through buildings and making him witness face first as innocent children's bodies are torn in half against his face with his eyes being held open so he can't look away, he's beaten within an inch of his life and left to die alone on the side of a frozen mountain, all Amber can think of is "But what about meeeee" Hell and even after all of that, while Mark is still injured, his mom is grieving, terrified that Omni-Man is going to come back and finish the job, she comes back and love bombs him at his lowest for even more gaslighting, and she doesn't face a single consequence. Kind of fucked up that the writers changed Amber to be black just to make her insufferable and abusive.
One of my favorite things about the show is that after finishing the first season so many lines have a whole different meaning examples: “earth isn’t yours to conquer“ we have responsibilities that normal humans don’t” “you will be like me son, you will”
That's exactly what I said to my brother, "bro, now I understand what he meant, earth is not yours to conquer" *proceeds to destroy the planet in 15 seconds* he takes his job a little serious
@inveterate 77 i haven't watched in years but i know i remember eren standing knee height in blood inside a titan then fucking splattering it doing his transformation shit
You should totally read the comics then. Its by the same guy who made The Walking Dead graphic novels, which are 100% better than the walking dead show
I love how Mark is constantly getting his ass kicked, he doesn't just win with the power of friendship or random power ups. It feels like he actually has to try and grow as a character rather than most of the MCs out there
I loved this as well, the "realism" that getting super powers doesn't mean you're just a professional right off the bat with them. They kept Mark relatable all through this. Also love the opening and how they cut across saying his name to show the title card, and then his name getting more and more bloodied as he's dragged deeper into the mess going on.
Yeah can she affect living tissue? Because if so she has some insane combat abilities.....like she could murder omni man then. And even if she can only affect dead tissue she could rework a dead viltramite into like a suit of armor or robot
He was totally lying to himself. That’s why he flew away crying. I like how that was also the only time in the entire show that he cried. Its written by Robert Kirkman, who wrote the Walking Dead comics. All he writes are real characters going thru unreal situations. Its intense and awesome
In the scene with the old lady, I'm pretty sure an enemy knocks Mark into something and he ends up crashlanding with the old lady still in tow due to his poor flight control. It's his flight that gets her hurt, not his strength. Just feels worth noting because I feel like that makes it just a biiit less extreme as he doesn't directly hurt her.
The whole casting is flawless. J.K Simmons is so ultimate as Omniman, Sandra Oh and Steven Yuen have some really touching moments together. Even smaller characters like Rexplode or the costume maker or Allen the alien, have powerhouse voice actors that give the show so much life
@@itsapyro-fox6963 my pfp says it all I already do Just that most of the time they all feel the same with the same plot and premise (not saying they are bad. They are very good) When good cartoons come out it feels so drastically different from the rest.
Have you ever thought about the irony behind the name invincible. When he first gets his powers and a chance to pick his name, his goal is to become as much like his dad as he could, so when his dad mentioned invincible it struck a cord. Then throughout the whole season, mark was getting beat up down left right and center, but fighting through never the less. While hoping to get the unmatchable physical strength from his dad, his more notable feature ended up being the humanity and rightfulness he obtained from his mom. At the end you found out maybe he as a person was “vincible”, but his heart so to speak was strong enough to endure a 1 1/5episode long beating from the thing it loved the most.

Spoilers Amber: *knows Mark is a superhero* Mark: *does the Superman thing where he leaves the scene and switches costumes and saves somebody in front of her* Amber: “why did you run away?”
Yes omg that is the only shit I don’t like about the show. Amber is honestly the worse for that. I Liked her in the beginning she seemed like a great character. But the that you know that someone you love is risking their lives everyday, for others, and you still chose to get mad at them. Shits messed up.

I was 100% expecting it to say “Mark” on one of the title screens, when he was introducing himself and hesitating on the words. Would’ve been too funny
When I discovered Invincible, I watched the first episode and I was literally just enthralled by it, on the edge of my seat for the next several hours binging the rest of it. and when I finished episode 7 I was unbelievably excited for the next one. And holy shit. This series needs some massive awards.
Same, in those early weeks I was constantly responding to notifications of people who had questions about specific character powers or wanted to talk about where they thought their favorite character was going, what was going on with the changes, etc. It was a hell of a good time.
Right dude? I’m so fucking happy so many people are getting turned onto this story. Invincible has been my favorite comic for years. I can’t wait to see how they handle the rest of the story!
absolutely agree. My brother started reading it first when the Image comics crossover happened, cause he really liked Spawn back then, and then he was hooked. He started buying every issue and I eventually picked it up as well and the text at the top of the covers isn't wrong: It is the greatest comic book in the universe.
Me too! I remember telling people about the comic when I started reading it and everyone ignored me. Well look at them now!!! Still ignoring me, but also watching the show.
There’s a scene where Amber and Mark are kissing standing up and start to move downwards onto a bed, but the way it was animated was like someone MS Paint dragged their layer down off screen; it was so jarringly bad it was hilarious
The way those birds dropped to the ground was pretty bad too. The bird in the foreground has some animation when hitting the ground, but the other ones (which I'm pretty sure are a copy-paste of the first) just hit the ground without any kind of feedback.
I think that slow scroll-down was purposeful. Sure it's not animation of how two people making out would flop onto a bed, but that's not the point. The point is to imply they're getting freaky and the static downward motion conveys that in a humorous manner. I thought it was damn funny they just sunk off-screen. It was entirely intentional.

That was perfectly said! I guess he enjoys fighting as a sport like a Lion does in the wild, so he doesn't mind someone hiring him if he can get that thrill.
What I really love about this show is that the violence is not there just for violence, it's there to add weight to the situation, showing the audience how much really is at stake in every fight.
I agree with him with no bad characters but the only character that’s Weird as fuck is amber like she still gets mad at him even when she knew mark was invincible
Agreed. Amber sucked the life out of every scene she was in. Her quarrels with Mark felt forced and bizarre. Also, out of all the character arcs the writers could have given Mark, they chose the “work-life balance” arc that we’ve seen a thousand times. Imo, Mark’s arc should have been about blind faith. He should have idolized Nolan in Act One and become prideful in Act Two after connecting with his heritage. This would have made the final battle between father and son 10x better than it already was.
@mettydex It reminds me of my favorite action movie, The Raid: Redemption, where EVERY character seems to have a tiny chance of survival as more and more are killed off.

(Also head explosion)
Well, also in the sayian invasion saga, Nappa went on a joyride destroying earth's militaries like that one jet scene in omni-man.
And Vegeta probably didn't care about where they fought as long as he could just kill Goku and go on with wiping out the planet. Also the Sayian pride revolving around constant fighting and finding tougher and tougher opponents.

he said it was good, not perfect

@LunaUsagi Ok so, Mark has his chest caved in, his skull shattered, witnesses two people get hospitalized, his arm splintered so that it bends 5 ways instead of 2, witnesses his friend get tortured, and a half dozen people get tortured in the same way to the point that none of them are considered human anymore and one even commits suicide due to it, watches hundreds of people die like ants being burned with a lighter, and Amber's response is: "You should've been giving me attention!!!"
And not to mention, after she tries to cheat on him, his own dad nearly murders him by using him as a weapon, throwing him through buildings and making him witness face first as innocent children's bodies are torn in half against his face with his eyes being held open so he can't look away, he's beaten within an inch of his life and left to die alone on the side of a frozen mountain, all Amber can think of is "But what about meeeee"
Hell and even after all of that, while Mark is still injured, his mom is grieving, terrified that Omni-Man is going to come back and finish the job, she comes back and love bombs him at his lowest for even more gaslighting, and she doesn't face a single consequence. Tbh, Robert Kirkman deserves much more praise for Invincible than he gets for The Walking Dead.
He probably will now that it's a show, Walking Dead probably wasn't as praised until the TV show happened
The Walking Dead fell apart towards the end. Invincible actually finished strong.

At the end you found out maybe he as a person was “vincible”, but his heart so to speak was strong enough to endure a 1 1/5episode long beating from the thing it loved the most.
man this deserves more likes
Hes named invincible not because he's unbeatable, but because his spirit cannot be broken
Near the end of the comic series there's a character who I won't spoil who talks about the name "Invincible" and what it signifies.

There’s a scene where Amber and Mark are kissing standing up and start to move downwards onto a bed, but the way it was animated was like someone MS Paint dragged their layer down off screen; it was so jarringly bad it was hilarious
Bro my girlfriend pointed that out to me and I was like lmaoooo
The way those birds dropped to the ground was pretty bad too. The bird in the foreground has some animation when hitting the ground, but the other ones (which I'm pretty sure are a copy-paste of the first) just hit the ground without any kind of feedback.
I think that slow scroll-down was purposeful. Sure it's not animation of how two people making out would flop onto a bed, but that's not the point. The point is to imply they're getting freaky and the static downward motion conveys that in a humorous manner. I thought it was damn funny they just sunk off-screen. It was entirely intentional.
It was funny xD
The scene where's Mark's flying through the clouds looked like they were click and dragging a jpeg around the screen.

I love how casually they introduced Battle Beast during the fight scene against Machine Head, I thought that at first he was just your typical badguy mercenary that will be beaten up easily, turns out that Machine Head hiring Battle Beast is equivalent to Kingpin hiring Thanos.
That was perfectly said! I guess he enjoys fighting as a sport like a Lion does in the wild, so he doesn't mind someone hiring him if he can get that thrill.
He has one of the best fight scenes in the entire comic. You’re all gonna be blessed with these upcoming seasons lol

I agree with him with no bad characters but the only character that’s Weird as fuck is amber like she still gets mad at him even when she knew mark was invincible
Honesty is one of the most important parts of a relationship..
To be honest if I was Amber I would have done the same thing. Dating a superhero seems pretty lame.
saws mfs on twitter say “he needa treat her like omni man would” and i was rolling
Amber got annoying. She's into social justice but cant understand mark is out there wrecking fools and saving lives.
The fact that J.K. Simmons voiced Omni Man, was one of the major factors that made want to watch this show.
