Wap 7 is best in overall..... But i really like diesel locomotives as they are independent and can follow any route (electrified or non electrified) ..... And the solidness and the heavy feeling make me pleased....
Wap7 is the best. It is having much higher tractive effort. Almost all the Rajdhanis are hauled by P7 loco. Majority of garib raths and LHB premiums, P4 or P7 are still from the top choices along with long distance SF Trains. The acclerarion Power of P7 is above awsm !!
The other one is good for Intercity kind of trains insead of these heavy wight due to wheel skidding in ghat sections, long loads and long distance loco failure records......hence P7 is the most successful Electric Loco along with P4......

Wap 5 also have capacity to lift the coaches upto 20 to 25.
No wap 5 can only pull 15 coaches at 200 kmph. Efficiency is not good with more coaches. Also it's tractive effort is less than wap 7. Got it?

WAP 5 work outs for shathabdi and Gatimaan with less number of coaches. when comes to haul 20 to 24 coaches WAP 7 is best with its acceleration, power and speed when more than 20 coaches are attached to it.

I like WAP 7 but railways should make WAP 8 which is fast at the speed of 160 Kmph.

Stronger is WAP7 because it's hauls upto 24 coaches and runs with maximum speed of 120 kmph as compare to WAP5 is speediest but it doesn't hauls up to 24 coaches and runs maximum speed of 80-90 kmph.
But compare to both WAP7 is best and stronger..

My choice wap 7. Because it's more economical and more strongest than wap 5. Also this locomotive are can ran fast with 24/ 26 coaches icf rake for long ton. So I think wap 7 is the best..

sir both these locomotives are best in Indian railway, I think we can't get better more than these locomotives. Both are the leaders of Indian railways. But my Question is when will be our Indian railway tracks will be improved to achieve its highest speed of 200kph. Our Indian railways need high speed and multiple rail line corridors to run all the mail express trains apart from Rajdhani and Shatabdi express, by converting existing railway routes which are doubled to Either quadraple or sextupled. whe these things will be focused. please Make a video to show your kind information.

One feature of the WAP5 that is never discussed is that that its traction motors are mounted on the bogie frame and are fully suspended thereby reducing the unsprung mass and that combined with the Bo-BO wheel configuration is what makes them far more suitable for higher speeds than the WAP7. Thus trains like the Gatimaan , Bhopal Shatabdi etc can only be hauled by a WAP5 . P5 is the sports car while the P7 is a truck : - ) ...Suspension design is of great importance ( more than sheer HP numbers ) for stability at higher speeds. There was a time when the GM-EMD WDM4 diesel locomotive with its flexicoil bogie that had both primary and secondary helicoil suspension , was the only locomotive in India that was permitted to haul the Howrah Rajdhani express only for this reason. The venerable WDM2 and the WAM4 both of which shared the Alco trimount bogies with no secondary suspension were not allowed to cross 110 kmph and this when the WAM4 was more powerful and had much greater pulling ability as compared to the WDM4. ( re-geared wdm2s were used to run the Bombay Rajdhanis at 120 kmph max ). The WAP1-4 locomotives were then developed and they all shared the WDM4's flexicoil bogies in one form or the other.

मुझे WAP-5 और WAP-7 दोनों पसंद है.जब ये 120-130 की स्पीड से आयसीएफ रेक को चलाते है तो ऊसके खुल्ले खिडकी से बाहर का देखते वक्त स्मूथ यात्रा का बहुत ही मजा आता है.WAP-4 , WAP-5 , WAP-7 जैसे पावरफुल लोकोमोटीव का सबसे जादा मजा हमे तभी मिलेगा जब ये 130-140 के स्पीड से आयसीएफ रेक को लेकर चलेंगे.बताने के लिए शब्द नही है ऐसा मजा आता है.और ऐसा मजा हमेशा मिलने के लिए WAP-4 , WAP-5 , WAP-7 के पीछे हमेशा 24 या ऊससे भी जादा कोच वाला आयसीएफ रेक ही होना चाहिये.
