I admit after I dealt with a closed head injury at a health food store - I tried to downplay the head injury after feeling drunk for 4 days, bizarre headaches that would move all over my head, delayed reaction to make important decisions, drowsiness, etc. I finally went to the ER 2 days later after feeling nauseated which was the last straw and neck swelling/stiffness. Unfortunately the ER doctor didn't even check my nose, eyes, or ears and neck & the cat-scan did not detect anything - they admitted it cannot detect concussions. So, I''m finally going to see my family doctor next week to check FULLY for possible internal injuries as the machine smashed into my face, at the bridge of my nose. I saw a chiropractor as well & they also told to see my family doctor immediately. I'm used to putting up with pain as people don't want to deal with their loved ones feeling off/suffering. Now I'm finally resting in bed to recover from an intense week. Appreciate this feedback!
Was in a wreck 30 days ago. The insurance adjuster demanded a recorded statement without any time to prepare for their questions. The guy became defensive and persuaded me into calling an attorney. Been low-balled on the property damage as well. Insurance is not your friend.

But his fee was $300.00 so I ended up with the same amount. On paper I got more but the end of the day was the same- I talked to other lawyers and they said that the fee was actually cheaper than what they would of charged. Some people do very well with their settlements without retaining a lawyer. The key is honesty, well documented medical records and carefully laying out all of your costs, and what you think you deserve as compensation. As well have a good, experienced trial lawyer with an excellent track record set up, meaning she or he is ready to be retained should you not reach a good settlement. Let the insurance adjuster know this, thus they know if they do not offer you a fair settlement you will take it too trial that you are not bluffing. If you are seen as honest and you have all your injuries documented by your treatment providers they know you will likely do well at trial, or at least the judge will award a fair settlement, which is what most people are seeking verses a maximum. Thus settling is less expensive as they then don't have to pay for very expensive defense attorneys, nor risk the judge providing a maximum award when they could settle at fair value. It depends on a person's personality type. My friend thoroughly enjoyed advocating on his behalf and found the adjuster to be very professional and respectful albeit he did low ball the settlement he negotiated higher.

Why is it that when you have a slip and fall and you report a certain injury that the insurance adjuster can just say no you did not say that at first?.... Furthermore, just because you say your knee hurt or your hand hurts.. why is it that in workmans comp don't the doctor get a diagnose of your injury before sending you to theropy?.. Why is it that the insurance adjuster gives you the right to chose your own doctor and then once your doctor sends you to the orthopedic and neurologist ... even though your doctor has a coming up appointment, the insurance adjuster can just cancel your appointment and stop you from continuing to see your chosen physician?.. Once you've been taken away from your doctor.. here you are in pain and now there is no doctor you go to emergency room, clinic and the insurance adjuster won't pay for it. While seeing my doctor he requested a mri be done on my knee. It comes back lateral meniscus tear. The insurance company, my attorney, both have the report nobody addresses it. Come about from November 2017 to January 2018 they send me to a orthopedic that say I can go back to work. Now I get a email from insurance adjuster stating that I they via my attorney has found me a hand doctor. So my attorney is making decisions without me. Ok I get in there and the Nuerologist says he wants nothing to do with me so he sends me bsck.to.work no restrictions.. Ok now I get the call to return to work and here I am can't hardly walk my knee hurts my back hurt my hands hurt and I can't go back to work. This is in February 2018 my benefits has stopped. Now 5he claim that I did not return to work because of my back. The injury that they denied. Not my knee which is in the claim. There is more but here I am having to move to another state because I have no income. And you say well where is your attorney?!! And I say he's working against me!!!!.

I had my computer in my backpack too, destroyed my new sunglasses (if I hadn't had them on I'd probably be blind or only have one eye, it gouged a big gash in them....thanks

Had 2 cases and they were consolidated to one court judge but not as a whole so 2 insurance co split the bill. The attorney has mixed up all the numbers and treatments with attorney fees so that when I call him on the attorney fees they get put on the right case the actual big bill as in MRI's do not get discussed.I had some MRI's on the first case but the first case has no money so my attorney is trying to get the money off the second more expensive case by swapping treatments

He said he was going to reduce my doctors fees and he lied. There is 43,000 on deck and he wants to give me only 6K. How do I end the case and return funds to ins co.

Iam beyond that.I need someone that if they are going to really hear me then also have the ability to make a proper decision with all my proof either on paper or treatments

+esj8341 I think some do, it depends on the person. A good friend of mine negotiated a very fair settlement. I think the key was he was very honest, he had excellent medical documentation and he had a very experienced trial lawyer set up should the matter not be settled. Therefore the insurance adjuster knew this person is serious, if we don't settle he will retain this lawyer. I believe the honesty and med. evidence was the golden key as they knew he would do well at trial.
I have been threatened so many times by my attorney and also have been dropped by my existing and previous attorney. They know they cannot bully me into signing so what the first attorney has done was drop me stating that Iam difficult to deal with and that was the reason to drop no communication.My next attorney also knew he culd no bully me so he continued the same cry wolf but dropped me several times refused to give me my papers then said he would represent me again to the end.
