I was facing this exact problem when choosing between a TRD and an XSE. The TRD is just not as luxurious and as missing out on so much technology. You can’t even get leather seats on the TRD. So that was the deciding factor for me. I’ve had my XSE in Wind Chill Pearl with the black roof and red seats and All Wheel Drive for a little over a month now and I love it.
@@tagsme5337 Most Camry customers choose leather seats actually. And my XSE has cooled seats as well so that helps in hot climates. But it’s a known fact that the XSE has more luxury than the TRD. The interior of a TRD is more in line with an LE. The TRD gets no moonroof, no 360 camera, no wireless charging, no ventilated seats, no head up display, no auto-dimming rear view mirror, and there’s several other things it lacks.
I just traded my 4 cylinder 2020 Camry for a 2022 Camry XSE V6! These models and trim are hard to come by. Even harder when you want the Midnight Blk exterior. And Man, am I in love with this car. I debated between a TRD and the XSE V6 and after careful consideration and research I decided on the XSE. Far to many added features than the TRD and if you put the car in Sports mode I believe you get the same type of performance as the TRD. I am very happy with my decision.
I got the 22’ XSE V6 Camry and I was in the same decision between the TRD and the XSE. Ended up going with the XSE for the same reasons but I was still a little bit bummed because I really liked the spoiler that the TRD trim came with. So I bought the TRD wing from Toyota and put it on there myself. Looks great. Now I have a Camry that looks like a TRD but has all the specs and tech that an XSE has. Best decision I could’ve made.
Well in Toyota’s defense they weren’t trying to make the TRD a luxury car . This was then basically saying “ Hey you want a sports family sedan that you can also take on the track and not worry about breaking down . Here you go”

Plan on blacking out the emblem and lettering on the back and replacing the color matched spoiler with the black one to add a little more to the sporty appearance. I'm not sure how I feel about the JBL system, though. I like a good mix of bass, vocals, etc. Just seems that I'm not getting a good mix of that, but rather one or the other. Camry XSE V6 is so much better as higher ground clearance, does not require careful placement to rise on a lift for repairs, less chances to damage the body, it has 40/60 rear split seats, JBL sound system is avail as Option for TRD, panoramic sunroof, 10-inch color HUD, ventilated cooled seats, dual zone climate control, a 7-inch digital display in the instrument panel, and also has a 9-inch Infotainment Display. Next problem, any Camry can obtain TRD accessories therefore, the TRD Camry is not exclusive or unique. Overall, The Camry TRD is not worth having. On the other hand, the best of all Camry trims is the Camry XSE V6 fully loaded. Avoid all Hybrids and EVs as they are not the future and have many unresolved issues. Drove both V6 XSE and TRD. TRD stopped better, handled better, sounded better and looked better. Went with the TRD instead. Still get XSE owners turn head when they see me pass. With XSE you can’t tell if it’s a V6 or i4 until you open the hood. With TRD you know you’re rocking the V6 all day. 😊
Thanks for the video. Did you consider XLE? Certainly a lot of options are missing in TRD, but I wish TRD brakes was an option on other models. Dual piston brake calipers and bigger rotors should give better braking performance.
TRD looks way too "rice" in my honest opinion. I wish it was an option to have those upgrades, I like the clean and sleek look the XSE has. I do appreciate the roof rigidity the TRD has though, the XSE is hampered with the glass roof in that regard.
Yes! The Camry TRD has the JBL as an Option. If you are happy, that is what counts. However, the best trim belongs to the Camry XSE V6 fully loaded. At least you did not get the bottom of the barrel Camry LE or any Hybrid as they are the worst of them all. Be careful as the TRD has low ground clearance and requires special attention when placed on a service/repair lift. A Panoramic Roof would have been nice but without you gain another one-half to 1-inch more head room. It would have been a more sought after car if Toyota made it with a Manual 5-Speed Transmission. Paddel Shifters are not impressive or fun, just more plastic on the steering coulomb.
