Toyota Camry is the best-selling midsize sedan in America.
I like the TRD's exterior look, but prefer the XSE's interior. If I were shopping for a Camry, I'd probably go for the XSE V6 to be honest.
That's what im looking at currently. I feel the exact same. Would love that TRD exterior but with as much driving as i do, i need to be in love with the interior features so im looking at XSE's right now
You can get the 2022 Camry XSE V6 with the TRD appearance package………The best of both world. Give Jeff a call and price one out! ✋😎🤚
@@eddiew.6485 ya but you don’t get a wing but still nice Toyota should of based the trd after the XSE tho
Thats what I did plus the quad exhausts look cooler
Plus you can always modify the exhaust on the XSE V6.
Would really love to have the ability to get a TRD but with the same fully loaded options available with the XSE.
Most definitely!!!
no cap
The TRD is based on the SE
@@montefiveforty1 thats not what i mean. I want a loaded out XSE V6 with everything the TRD has as well.
@@epatters1494 Gotcha
If the TRD had the panoramic sunroof like the XSE, it would be absolutely perfect. Still gonna buy the TRD over the XSE though, it’s just my taste in style 💁🏼♂️
ever thought putting ur hands on the car and building it how ya want
Did that ! And no regrets ! Looks just pulled me in ! ✅
Hats off to Toyota for making the trd trim budget friendly. Both trims are great 👍🏻
The Toyota Corolla apex needs the help under the hood though. Sucks that the apex is close to the Camry trd msrp with nearly half the hp lmao
It’s not TRD because you stamp red TRD sign all over the vehicle. (:
@@Emk315 It’s a TRD trim bud regardless of how broke you are. I’m flexing my ‘21 Tacoma trd all day everyday foh.
@@Brop3z I know that right. As long as you happy who cares
Thank you for this sxs review. Exactly what I needed to help me decide. The TRD lacking the panoramic roof and dual climate control was the deal breaker for me. I’m going with the XSE V6.
I'm ordering an XSE also, and I cannot get over at that price range, the TRD does not have that panoramic roof, which is stunning onjthe XSE. Regards from CT - USA gardis
Good choice!
XSE...she has a more mature sporty look as supposed to the TRD's juvenile sportiness. Though the TRD exhaust has a more throaty sound, as in no gag reflex 😁😁😁👍👍
I went with the TRD Iced Edge, and I love that car. It handles and drives great and gives you a real sense of total control. It’s way more sportier and that what I felt in love with and the car will drive for 200,000 miles plus . It’s a super reliable fun and exciting vehicle to own
I just got an iced white TRD a week ago. And WOW! What a fantastic car! And I didn’t realize how hard these TRD Camrys are to get! And they sell FAST once the dealer gets a hold of one. I have to say I got pretty lucky with the timing of the arrival. I love every thing about it, how it looks, how it drives, how it sounds. Bang for buck I don’t think there’s a more perfect car out there for me.
Don't need leather and sun roof, easy choice for looks and handling is TRD! Bought a 2023 Pearl White and couldn't be happier. Last year they are making the Camry TRD.
I love both but i prefer the Camry TRD.
XSE V6 not a doubt! This car is worth the money and has much more to it. The TRD has the body of an SE and interior, whereas the XSE has a lot of additions, fast and beautiful. My favorite car.
Not faster than TRD tho
TRD has no heated seats. Deal killer. Just get a catback exhaust and install it on the XLE
How? It's the exact same engine. You lose a bunch of features just to get lowering springs, side skirts, splitter, and a spoiler. @@captainamericaandcaptainma3337
XSE V6 all day for the sleeper. Wings and Camrys just don’t belong together.
Yeah but they nailed the wing in my opinion. Helps
Picking up a 2023 TRD Camry on Saturday, can't wait.
A proud owner of 2021 Toyota Camry TRD here! It's awesome baby! I enjoy every single mile that I drive.
Me too, I’ve been wanting to give the TRD a Mexican look. I have the Iced Edge
My grandfather, father, and both Aunts were all GM retirees. All I was ever allowed to own were GM vehicles. Just got my first camry XLE about a month ago and DAMN!! Blows every GM car I've ever had out of the water. My DeVille comes close but no cigar
Thank you for your video. TRD is my dream car and I’m going to get one this fall. Thank you for showing all the little specifics that other videos don’t show.
I have the 2021 camry xse v6 and I LOVE it !!!! I have every option I could get and would not want the TRD due to the limited options. The panoramic sunroof is amazing!!
What kind of mileage do you get
I would also love to know what you average! 😊
I have a loaded XSE as well, with many after market TRD upgrades, and a pedal commander to take all hesitation out of the jump. Dusted a suped up challenger recently that attempted to race me at a light. Lol XSE all the way for me
And mine has the black top & windchill pearl white. Looks nothing like the XSE shown here.
@@davidkaseykelly same. My xse has the look of the trd roof but the panoramic roof of the xse. The little wing on the back is also black not white. Which looked weird at first because I had the silver badges, so I went and got the matte black ones to put on.
You helped me a lot you did a great job comparing both Thank you so much you helped me a lot to choose the TRD
Same
XSE is definitely for me especially with the midnight black on top as well as the blackout package and I’m hoping to get one sometime this year.
I like the rear diffuser on the TRD, but I like the overall look of the XSE.
I think some of that red stuff would get old after awhile t hough. The XSE combines the sporty look, yet is very enduring. That two tone roof also, looks fabulous, but ina year or two, would you think so?>
Thanks for making this video, I know know I 100% my next car will be not the xse as I'd wanted for months now, but the win goes to TRD 😍🥰🔥🔥🔥
I like how you went each section comparing and not showing just one car completely then show the other car I like the back and forth. It is 2024 and I’m thinking of buying one of these they’re really really nice it seems and reliable.
You forgot to mention that the TRD does not have fold down rear seating for additional storage from the trunk. And the TRD trim the back seats are fixed because there is reinforcements for the frame to make stiffness, so as to reduce frame flex on turning.
Yeah, deal breaker for me. I need to be able to transport my x-country skis
@@billsanterget a ski rack
Hey Jeff, another great video. I was thinking hopefully some day Toyota Motor Corporation will make you President of the company.
Not sure I want that responsibility lol
Thank you I have been waiting to see this comparison! I bought the V6 SXE and I am so happy I did. TRD is very nice but like you said everyone has their own style
Just purchased the trd so In love with it.
My top two choices for Camry. I'll take the TRD only if I can get moonroof option. I was sold on XSE V6 before this video. Can't go wrong with either.
literally my struggle right now the trd is amazing but it not having the moonroof is absolutely killing me
@@maine3751 I guess TRD doesn’t have one because it’s a performance car and not having one saves weight. Moonroof is more of a luxury. I’d love a more luxury version of the TRD like they have SE vs XSE.
Bro, review anything I wanna buy please. I have a 2022 Camry LE that I’m modding out as my daily car. However, I subscribed because of this mans enthusiasm and quick remarks. I love it
I want a XSE with the exhaust of the TRD that’s it 😬
fr🙆🏽♂️
And the mini wing
I got the 2021 xse 4 cylinder. Love it! Very quick car. Has big car feel but sporty handing. Love it!
The XSE wins easily in my book for many reasons.
The TRD is what happens when Toyota ask Harry and Llyod to consult for them.
I test drove both and it was an easy choice after driving them. I LOVE my TRD! I live in AZ and a sunroof and heated seats do nothing for me. I’ll take the handling, suspension and performance over the couple of extra interior features of the XSE all day.
Lloyd is a professional Chauffeur.
He knows cars 😂
i have a trd and if your picking between one i would definitely say go with the trd it’s an amazing car
I really want to pick up a TRD
Agreed 100%. If you don’t need a sunroof and heated seats, the TRD is just a much, much more fun car to drive. Also, the resale on them will be better over time due to the scarcity. Only 6k produced each year.
The front air intakes differ a lot between the two. The XSE looks grimmer than the TRD, but the TRD looks grimmer from the rear.
I just bought my TRD Saturday. I love it and I have no complaints lol. I just have to learn all the safety features it comes equipped. The missing heated seats and sunroof wasn’t a deal breaker for me. Overall no complaints so far
Been looking for someone who purchased the TRD and glad it isnt as bad as some people make it out to be, definitely picking up mine soon!
@@humblepotential8402 its really not man. Main complaints are the missing features from what I am seeing man. But the heated seats/steering wheel, and sun roof is not a deal breaker for me
I went to get the XSE and after driving the TRD, it was an easy decision. The TRD is just so much more fun to drive and the handling and braking…it doesn’t feel like driving a Camry at all. I love my TRD and could care less about a sunroof or heated seats since I live in Arizona.
@@jesseanderson6356 yeah you definitely didn’t drive the xse then. It quite literally handles the same, the weights only off by 300 lbs, trd for the price has wayyy less features that can be added with aftermarket support. How much you pay for that trd?
Greeat choice I liike the TRD too, I am a little tight on the budget...lol.
Dude, I bike hard, I gym hard, I wine hard, I travel hard; frickin I want the XSE Camry v6! But my 2001 Avalon is still alive haha.
Right my 06 Corolla 223k miles on it still love it they make a car to damn good lol. but I'm really looking at these for my next car
I have a Roush 3.5 twin turbo , it rips , so I was going to buy a Trd for daily driving, but my 70 yr old body has to have heated seats. So I am going for the XSE
Nice job jeff! Love your videos! Thank you for the detailed information! Xse for me all the way!
I'll take sound and performance over the looks and features, TRD all day.
Your reviews are so detailed. Thank you
Toyota Jeff, that was a great video. I want to ask this question: does the XSE have that technology (is it called idle/stop?) when you are at a RED light, the engine shuts down, and then when you press the gas pedal for the green light, the engine starts up;?? I hate that technology and I'm about to buy an XSE hoping it doesn't have. My info is that it does NOT have it, can you confirm??
It does but only if you are backing up, u got options either u turn it on or off in the settings
@@JayjNoah No, I test drove an XSE 2022,. it doesn't have it.
There is a black Camry TRD listed at my local dealer that they are expected to receive. When I look up the vin it shows it as having black and BLUE interior which I would love! (They used to offer it on camry a few years ago) However I thought TRD camry's only had black and red interior? My salesman said he wasn't sure. Do you know anything about it Jeff? It should get here at the end of the week but I can't find any other info online. Does the new 2021 Camry TRD have black and blue interior as an option??
Really like your video/ review! Prefer the features of the XSE, but not the extra money. So, to save a few thousand and to get the reliability of a Toyota bought the TRD.
Bruhhhh that what I’m saying I rather go with the trd
I understand the trd is not for everyone. But I like it. And I read that toyota produces only 6000, kinda rare
I understand the trd isn’t for everyone but w me I do like the sporty features on their and it’s less than the xse the trd is a nice car
I went with the TRD, so much fun to drive!!
Me too I got the trd also hehe good choice Lina
Is the suspention hard or bumpy?
Not in the slightest. It’s a great ride and handles amazingly.
Went to get my Tacoma serviced today and saw a TRD Camera in the lot. Pretty stunning in real life. That's what brought me to this video. Guy in the video missed his calling....should be on TV..funny guy... Loved the video.
UA-cam is the future of tv
I love the XSE but it is lacking heated seats as well JBL 9 speakers!!! Both looks Great
A shame that Toyota didn’t provide and increase in performance in the TRD. More horsepower and AWD would have been welcome. Toyota needs to bring AWD as an option on the V6 but I assume maybe never coming since this is probably the last generation of Camry with a N/A V6 option. Probably turbo 4 cylinder or hybrid.
Imagine if the Camry TRD was AWD, N/A V6, 6-speed manual? I wish I was a little older back in the 2000s. All the fun cars could've been bought straight from the showroom during those times.
Got my 22 XSE V6 in Celestial Silver with the black top/accents. Love this car tons of bells and whistles. Big upgrade from my 04 Tundra
They should've shoved that v6 engine into the new RAV4. 😒
Absolutely.
Instead, they ll put the Prime in the Camry
Never happening.
@ayabeihere The V6 accounts for about 6% of Camry sales, I'm sure the RAV4 would do better. Every owner of a third generation V6 RAV4 I speak with loves them. I would also like to see the Camry's 2.5 engine offered in a mid-level TRD Corolla.
RAV4 Prime is faster than V6 technology and way more efficient
@@AlphaOmega333 I really like the Prime but it is much heavier than a RAV4 would be with today's 301 hp V6. Therefore the V6 would be faster, it would be more agile and tow more. If anything, the regular 4 cylinder RAV4 is redundant as it is slower and thirstier than the standard Hybrid. The regular 4 also tows less than the Hybrid. For the price of upper trim RAV4s like the Adventure and TRD, a V6 should be included especially when you consider the low price at which Toyota offers this V6 TRD Camry.
Jeff, TRD is the answer. Higher performance for less money is against all odds.
I had a 2020 Camry trd but I traded it in for a Chevy Silverado! Honestly I kinda miss the Camry but the truck is more useful! But I wish the Camry trd was more loaded with more options
Literally want to do the opposite fuck the truck gas prices rn
Can you option a sunroof with the TRD?
Nope smh my only issue
THINKING TO GET A VEHICLE THIS YEAR 🤔 KIA K5 GT ,OR HONDA ACCORD, OR THIS TOYOTA CAMRY KIND A HARD TO MAKE A DECISION..
Same
TRD is perfect to me alllll but that spoiler 😂 if it was a black lip I would love it 100% but overall I’d get the TRD
Jeff! I have a question! If I order black emblem overlays for my 2021 Camry XSE V6, are they gloss black like the TRD or are they matte black?
Jeff, do you believe one holds its value more than the other?
I would say the TRD resale would be better as it is super limited with only 6k produced for each model year.
The TRD Camry is the cheapest way to get into a V6 Camry
Cheaper is better.
And personally i think the trd looks better too
Enjoyed your review,I am a diehard Toyota fan,I happen to believe they are the best vehicle's on the road.have always had a toyota in my yard lol thinking of changing from Camry SEV6 to an SUV
Did they get rid of the shocks for the 2021 Camry hoods now?
Yes they all use a hood prop now.. I like the shocks much better..
Very petty of Toyota.
@@righteousone1 Why? Honda did it too. And even Nissan. Lmafo.
One reason I got the XSE V6 is because getting a high trim level car with every option was kind of a bucket list item for me. My previous cars have all been pretty much base models. I didn't get the black roof because I live in Florida and black roof = hot car. I'm also a bit disappointed my Camry didn't come with the heated steering wheel even though I most likely never would have used it. 😀The TRD is cool but not for me.
I like the TRD exterior. But they failed on the interior. No moonroof on a 32k+ vehicle. It’s 2021. That should be a standard like Bluetooth. 😂. I like the diffusers on the TRD though. I installed diffusers on my Altima and I think every car should get them. Also. How do you not have arm rests in a full size sedan. And it’s a TRD! No moonroof and armrests in a luxury sport sedan. Those should be standard.
Can’t you get a xse fully loaded with all options and just swap out the coil suspension for the TRD AND CAT BACK?
Could you get TRD in AWD or XSE V6 in AWD? Thanks for sharing dude have a wonderful weekend and god bless you all!!
There is no awd trd
The TRD is almost the perfect car for a young man in that transition from bachelor to married man with kids it’s missing the sunroof if it had a sun roof i would say the trd is the perfect car
Almost got a TRD today 2023 all black with red accents
That’s a sharp color
I am thinking about a new camry but didn't know which one to get so please tell which one is better
I have the 2019 V6 XSE, I was really looking forward for the TRD, but now that I see it doesn't have the panoramic roof, which I'm used to, it doesn't have LED rear lights and front lights. No dual climate control also on the TRD.......
Think of the TRD as a SE with a V6 and some packages on it (lighter, with bigger brakes, different tuned suspension, and no reseats slip)
Want to see GR 86 and 22 Tacoma with you talking about the optional lift package Toyota is offering.
Thank you.
Got my 21' Camry xse. (Luxury Sport Edition) with all the bells and whistles. Black out package. It's beautiful. And quick.
XSE= Extreme sports edition :) and you’re lucky! I’ve been wanting an xse 😭👍🏼
When you make a V6 louder it has that Bumble Bee sound exhaust . Always been that way always .. Sound better quieter ...
My husband just brought the 22 Camry TRD!!!
Toyota Jeff is it true you can't get the xse in the two TONE paint anymore ?
I wish they made one with the TRD exterior and the XSE interior. would be perfectttt
I got that.Pearl white black trim around windows black badging and side view mirrors,And its an XSE
Oh and black roof.
I couldn’t buy a car that initials are TRD-terd. Simone really didn’t think the name thru. Lol😂😂 😂
man these cars are so gorgeous, a bmw 328i doesnt even hold a candle to the beauty of these cars!
I like the features of the XSE, like the exterior back end of the TRD. Also like the TRD tuned suspension.
I prefer the trd look but the xse comes with way better features
19:38 Here's our panoramic sun roof. When shut! LOL
The TRD does not come with rear fold down seats or Moon roof becasue of the suspension stiffing and dampers, I also notice the TRD your reviewing has no rear air, Is rear A/C a delete option on that specific Camry TRD? No lights in fold down vanity mirrors? Wow!
Oh yes! My man! Back at it with the goodies! Can't wait to watch this one.
No mention that the rear seats don't fold down on the TRD. Kind of a deal breaker for me since I need to be able to carry my x-country skis. I really wouldn't want to do a roof rack because it would ruin the whole appearance.
If the TRD had ventilated seats, wireless charging and the 360 degree surround camera, I’d be driving one right now. I also just don’t understand this manufacturers….they jazz up the exterior and interior and beef up the suspension on the TRD but then the motor is exactly the same as the XSE 🙄. I mean if your gonna go through all that trouble making the car look more sporty and all, at least give it say 50 or 75 more horsepower than the XSE…..then you could honestly say you’ve got something special.
Jeff i seen the tip on the remote start. But it shuts off if any door it touched. Can it be made to be like a regular remote start. You can get in but key has to be with you and step on the brake
Great video...but...after I had to look up if either car was awd...I think that might be something to mention.other than that..very informative.thank you.
I have reached the end of the internet and cannot find where to find the jacket you are wearing in this video. I want one but where is it to be found? Is this a dealer only item? Where did you get yours? Thanks...
It’s a Lands End and my dealership put their name on it :)
@@Toyotajeff Thank you.
It was a cheap XSE. TRD price is lower because of quality of interior and some feathers which are not available for TRD trim. TRD its all about drive fast and save a little money, but XSE it's about drive fast with comfort.
This is the dilemma I'm in, which one do I buy ? I had a 2012 Camry SE and I LOVED that car!!! I've been driving a 2019 Chevy Traverse ( great car but the front passenger seat is soooooo uncomfortable for people like me who live with chronic pain in my low back and neck. ) So it felt like a no brainer to come back to a Camry.. I would love the XSE .. I have watched a whole bunch of reviews on these two specifically . I have to start out by saying I DO NOT LIKE THE ALL RED interior . I had no idea that this interior he's showing was an option . I'm fine with red in this particular , just not a car with full seats........
Sounds like XSE for you.
Great video! Thank you it helped me make my decision.
I would prefer the XSE rear spoiler on the TRD version. 🤔
I would choose the TRD if you could get one without the boy racer looking spoiler and without the red interior highlights. Otherwise, I would choose the XSE V6.
How popular is the V-6 engine option now Jeff? The next generation Camry probably will not have a V-6 option will it? Heck I doubt either the next GEN Lexus ES will have a V-6 very sadly
It makes up maybe 5%-10% of all Camry sales. It's perfect for people who are used to driving fast and expect it ... it would be bad for tickets for me haha
@@Toyotajeff Yeah me too! It’s just the overall refinement of the V-6 will be missed when it’s gone
AMG C63 is going turbo4 from V8.
What’s the world coming . to
@@davevolz6138 damn!
@@davevolz6138 are you sure about that? Where is the new S class still has TT V8 option, this one surprises me
Very informative vid bro! Great content
The XSE has the sunroof and better interior than the TRD. You can basically get the XSE to look like TRD exterior with an aftermarket aero kit.
Hi Sir! Is there any TRD 2021 or 2022 like this available?
Interesting: they don’t seem to have key controlled airbags. For years they have had the ignition key switch on the right side of the instrument panel in the front door opening. How do you switch them off or don’t you have that option in the USA?
Freaking awesome video this is exactly the video I needed with super detail bc I’m so on the fence. I love!!!! The TRD design but want the sxe features why can’t they make a TRD v6 turbo :)
I'd have to go with the XSE- the TRD version is just way too trendy between the spoiler and the seats. The TRD exhaust sounds really good though! Judging by those exhaust outlets, my guess is that it's a Magnaflow built exhaust.
Good guess but it's an in house TRD make. Magnanflow does make a great system that is a bit more throaty but when the rpms come down has a small ping noise i dislike.
You can actually buy a TRD/XSE Combo, no Red Seatbelts or Red Seats. In the 2022 model. The Sport mode feels like you're Racing on a track!😎
I liked the trds look better only bc of the side skirts and wing. I have the 2020 xse with all the options and red interior and I just ordered a body kit so overall mine is gonna be much better than the trd. Trd would be my option if I ever wanted to hit the track with it which I know I won’t
I have the XSE V6 but I also drove the TRD. They handled the same but the XSE more power because the V6 but I loved the moon roof
If only the TRD had the LED daytime running lights and LED tail lights. So for me, It's the XSE.
Is it me or did you put the camera closer to the TRD model?
It's mid April and the XSE is still not available in my NY area. They are pushing the TRD here.
