    Awesome, but I have a small mod to your mod to make it even easier and quicker. Instead of all the clips, and clipping to each cart post, then dropping one bungee with clips down a scupper and clipping to other bungee and pulling the bungee up, and repeating for other side, try this: Permanently attach a 1’ piece of bungee with a ring on the other end to each cart post. Then make a Y shaped bungee with 2 clips on the 2 ends. Set kayak on wheels, drop the 2 Y ends down the scuppers and attach each clip to the 2 rings on the bungees attached to the cart posts. Hold the tag end of the Y or attach it to something (chair, D ring…) and lift the kayak. Done. Less clips, less clipping/attaching and detaching, quicker and really easy. 😄 The other benefit is the clips are on the “3rd bungee” (the Y) which allows you to attach it to the car/boat/storage somewhere so as you mentioned at the end, you don’t lose it. The other two 1’ length bungees are permanent on the cart, so you won’t lose them either.

    Absolute genius! Thank you! I just made a pvc scupper cart and it was a complete PITA to put the kayak on it. This works great!

    Can this done using the scupper holes in front of the seat

    • @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095
      @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095  2 місяці тому

      It probably can if you find a place to anchor the bungees to pull the cart up. But you would probably need specific measurements for the bungees, the ones I make are meant to be used on the rear scuppers and attached to the top of the vantage seat.

      I have recently upgraded the pad eyes to stainless steel so they won’t break.

    Great idea! Now can you do it with the kayak going down hill? Like on a slippery boat ramp with a full kayak rods fish cooler, any of you doing this video do it at the boat ramp or at the beach not your back yard ??????

    • @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095
      @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095  2 роки тому +1

      Sure , I just turn the kayak perpendicular to the boat ramp . Enough so it doesn’t slide down when I put the wheels on. Same thing on a sloped beach, Pull it up as much as you can onto the sand on an angle. You can also put a couple of small rocks under each wheel or a chock at the boat ramp to keep the wheels in place . I’ll try to make a couple of videos in the near future showing all of this.

    Has this cart given you any issues about hull cracks in the scuppers? Great tut btw and thank you.

    • @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095
      @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095  2 роки тому +1

      No issues at all, this is my 4th season with it. I put the tennis balls on for a little extra cushioning but there’s probably no need, Hobie reinforced the scuppers a few years ago to be used with the carts .

    What a great idea. I know what I'm doing tomorrow ! Don't suppose you have any tips on how to convince a wife that this job is higher priority than a few (OK a lot) of others that are outstanding ?

      🤣Tell her it will eventually save you a lot more time on the water and you’ll be home quicker when you don’t have to unload all of your stuff to put the cart on

    What's length is bungee cut?

    • @nelsonfelixoutdoors6095

      I set 2 screws in a piece of wood 18 inches apart. Use the screw to make your loops . They can be off by a bit . Anywhere between 17 to 19 inches will work fine .
