I have been doing the UPSIDE app since September 2021. And I have built up $182 so far. Unfortunately all the stations within 100 miles from me have withdrew from UPSIDE. So no I just recently transferred the $182 to my savings account and it only took about 3 days to reflect in my account. I wish they were still doing it in my area.
@@studioroque6370 It sounds like you have to look for a station with an offer in the app, and then maybe go out of your way to go there, to save a few cents per gallon. I like to hit all my gas stations and grocery stores right along my commute routes to save time.
@@nala3038 Stop what you're doing, fire up the app, find a station with a deal, most likely navigate and travel slightly out of your way to go that station. I normally hit stations that are right on my commute route.
I started going to the circle K that's right by the walmart gas pumps. That store competes with walmarts low gas price and they offer cash back in the upside app.
Trick I just learned when getting gas as soon as you start pumping stop and check the place to see how much it is at that time . Every time it jumps up at least 5 cents a gallon. So I put in a 20cents check to see if I get more back pay my bill and run my card again for a better discouny
Upside is nice but tried several times to get cash back and failed. Tried my bank, failed, tried Pay Pal failed. chat with lady supposedly at Upside, she did not help. I am beginning to think ...scam ! If you could kind of walk me through I would gladly let me be one of your referrals 😀
Are you tracking the trend that appears evident to me that once you have used the app a few times the offer per gallon goes down (usually to 1 cent). So I have opened the Upside app for my wife (never used it yet) and she is seeing .20 cents on the same station I’m seeing .01 cent at the same time. I’m also noticing a trend that the app offers you a better savings when you are far away from the gas station then when you are trying to nab the offer when you are sitting in the parking lot. Might just be me but I think the app is fairly “smart” at reducing the cash back amounts once you are “hooked.”
When you first sign up, you do get some extra bonuses, but that should be clear. I have not noticed the distance issue... now I want to check that out and see if that happens to me. 👀
Great review- thank you so much! So in the 12 months since this video - is the audience sentiment largely still favorable? or trending towards negative/unfavorable given the customer issues and product complexity issues shared below?
Pump prices can and most likely be higher than the app price. How and when is the app price per gallon updated from the station owners to the app? I think this is a scam.
You don’t get paid with the rebates on gas you get paid inviting friends with the code because you get 1¢/gal for life from the people that signed up using your code.
I thought it would be great! I've made a whopping $25.53 in a year... it's ALWAYS cheaper across the street. I will NEVER go out of my way again because it's only right about 10% of the time.
This is legit I’ve just started and I have 20 bucks in my upside account I’m going to see what I can save for a year then go blow it on something awesome.
Never used a promo code first time I used it and it gave me like .40 per gallon back so that first time I got like $3.50 but then the second time it was like .15 back per gallon so I only got like .85 back.If it was like .40 back everytime then it's definitely worth it but it's not,it's more like .12-.15/gal,but I guess it's something.
Finding the cheapest gas and using a cash back credit card is NOT the best option. Because you neglected to mention that the .15 per gallon cash back credit per referral is CUMULATIVE! So you can build up enough credit to actually get PAID profit to pump. Example $16.50 cash back per gallon for each gallon pumped!
Here's my offer about saving money on gas. We purchased a Prius and I use Costco or Sam's Club. My Prius gets like 450 Mi to the gallon. And it only cost me about $38 to fill up. Because it was so good on gas we purchase another Prius I used one 2014 that I got for $14,000. And we are driving that to Texas cuz we live in Texas and California two weeks in each place in the month due to our Ministries. I believe this is the best way to get the best gas make sure you take your Prius especially if it's used to the dealer pay the $200 and get it checked out God bless you

Oh wow, that stinks that the stations around you stopped! Was it a variety of stations that stopped? Or was it all one brand?
@@SmartFamilyMoney it was a variety of stations. But they all use Valero Fuels. I assume UPSIDE stopped a contract with Valero I assume.
@@JPU89 sorry to hear that. I hope that's not a sign of what's to come for Upside. Have you found any other apps you like to use to save on gas?

Too time consuming. Glad you explained it so I don't have to try it myself after hearing the radio ads over and over and over again.

I think this is a scam.
I have costco too do you feel its a better deal than juat costi and its 4% cash back for costco gas. You answered my question about costco.
upside How to connect credit card,Unable to add the payment card
Not everybody has a costco near them. When I do get a chance to use costco, the line is a mile long, and you spend a gallon in gas waiting.
I tried it and says processing, cash back earned $0. Is this normal?
Yes that's pretty normal. I get a lot of "cancelled". I've made $25.53 in a year because of it
I had one incident where the discount was not added to my history and it still says its processing and it’s been a few days since I got gas.
Can the card you use to get the cash back be different than the card you use in the transaction?
My only complaint is that its hard to see as the print is very small.
I got a question how do u know u get it for the prize on the app
Do we have to pay taxes with this app once we reach $600?
That's a good question - I'm not sure.
I believe you do

I've only used the cash back to my bank account option - seems simpler!
Is Costco gas applicable?
No it doesn't work at Costco
I use a company card to get gas and I have to get like $70 bucks worth of gas every 3 days so I just farm the free money
It asks for my full credit card number, exp date and security code. No thanks
I supposed to receive $0.80/gallon cash back and ended up getting only $0.20/gallon😂
