It does work, you do get "money" back or at least in my situation it works but..... If I use the same station that's closest to my house I very rarely see over 2 cents per gallon. Its mostly 1 cents all the time. If its a station thats way on the other side of town (part of town im never in) it will be 9 cents or higher all the time. By the time I drive all the way over there then ive done burned up what I would save and then some. ALSO......sometimes you will find that the fuel prices posted by the station will be different then what upside shows.
In my experience, with fuel purchases, confirming the transaction while at the pump/store, the app doesn't ask for the receipt. If I leave the station without finalizing the purchase, then try to do so later, the app will ask for a receipt.
If you have a job in which you drive a lot and the company pays for it, it's so worth it. I drove approximately 37,000 miles in my company van last year and earned about $450 after I signed up in April of 2023. I could have done more, but I forgot to claim rewards about 30% of the time. To me, that's $450 of free money. I always have it transferred to my PayPal. For my personal driving in which I pay out of my own pocket, I didn't find the rewards worth it. I got cheaper gas at Costco, which I shop there once or twice a week.
IT simply means that closing your account is quite a challenge if you no longer want to be a member. I am glad that this has worked for you and you are an excellent advocate for this company. They are lucky to have a talented person like you speaking out for them.
Just downloaded this app, and i use company vehicle to work out of. I earned $14.88 On a 30 gallon fill up, on average i fill up twice a week. liking the app so far and going to continue to use app. Its free money why not lol😅
I've had this app for years. I stopped using it because the cost of gas at my warehouse is less. I opened it after seeing a commercial where some people talk about getting $200-$300 a month back from gas. First, that is impossible. The cash back is 1 to 5 cents. If your tank is 15 gallons, at most you save is 75 cents. You would have to fill up over 300 times a month to get that. Thats 11-12 times a day. A car can run 24-7 and not use that much. It's just a lie.
It's possible to get more cash back from gas if you are sharing the app with others. Upside gives you bonuses everytime someone you shared the app with uses it for the first time and then you get 1 cent/gallon for all the gallons they purchase. I typically see upwards of 20 cents per gallon in my app.
I'd be interested to know how much you saved without all those referral bonuses. The average person isn't going to have others use their referral code so that 10 cents every purchase wouldn't be adding up.
My husband has the app too and he doesn’t refer anyone. His car needs premium gas so he gets a few hundred back per year. In my opinion, that’s still worth it.
@@LindsaySewell do you get the discount when you link your card in store and online? or only when you scan the reciept or make the purchase through their app?
In my opinion, the fact that you are promoting the app with a website link and promo code diminishes your credibility as a reviewer. I am not saying this is a scam, but if the app is naturally going to steer you to businesses, there is no guarantee that that recommended business is not a more expensive option. So in theory, you could "earn" $1,000, but overpaid by $1,100 so you're actually net down.
That is how affiliate marketing works. I only share things that I use and love, why wouldn't I share my link so others who want to use it can? Also, I don't use "recommended" businesses. I use Upside at the gas station by my house that I have been going to for decades. And at my favorite restaurant that happened to be in the app, and the grocery store. So your logic about me losing money really doesn't hold water....
YEAH THIS FEEDBACK MAKES NO SENSE. I FIND THAT MOST NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IS DERIVED FROM SOMEONE'S LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OR ONE TIME UNFORTUNATE EXPERIENCE.
This app is 1,000 percent a scam. There’s no reachable customer service. They don’t verify or send notice in response to claims. They adjust promotional prices after you’ve made the purchase. Spent 300, got a random 2 dollars flat.. ya no. Avoid and report, sue if possible
Lindsay is 100% correct. Think about when you visit a TV show breakdown video where the host asks you to likes and subscribe before showing you a paid promotion with a referral code to get you a discount off your purchase. I for one appreciated Lindsay’s transparency, and I have just used your promo code to sign up (you were actually the second “review” video I watched to learn more about the app). I’m looking to getting started with Upside. Thanks for your insights.
why no mention of how you have to connect accounts. Who in their right mind would set up their bank account with this app? You're making money on referrals....lets face it......reason for the link!
You actually don't have to connect your bank account, there are tons of gift card options and PayPal. And your last point is not 100% accurate. Sometimes I do earn from referrals when they give offer referral credit (which is not always), and that is what affiliate marketing is all about...why would I not share something I use and love? It's called marketing...But I also earn from using the app myself.
@@LindsaySewellsaying “that’s how affiliate marketing works” isn’t helping your case lol affiliate marketing is based on literally deceiving people into using your link for a product. God damn how do you have a UA-cam channel
Shut up David if u are scared of technology just shut your phone down what she said is true your phone is track it all over without this app and your mic and cameras 😂 what's wrong with link the last 4 digits of my card to get paid
Save the paper receipts so you can dispute it. Also, make absolutely certain you are at the correct address for the offer to work. You might be at a Shell station on Parkside Dr. but a mile up the street, there's another Shell station that's also on Parkside Dr. You have to be at the right one for the rewards to go through.
Cool. You’re reviewing a product and then offering a referral code, which you’ll benefit from. You literally just combat every single issue with the app. Complete biased “review” and waste of time to even watch.
Nope. I only make money from using the app myself and the referral gas bonus cash back when someone signs up with my link. Upside didn’t sponsor this video and by the way…it’s FREE to download and use it.

Wow! That’s fantastic!!
It's primarily for drivers, if you drive Uber you can save 74 cents a gallon (July 2024)
thanks 4 all this info, i'm gonna give it a try ;)

I hope it works for you because if it doesn’t it is all but impossible to get out of
