    i USED TO WORK CONSTRUCTION AND GYM FAST 48S NO PROBS. SOME PEOPLE LOOK FOR EXCUSES NOT TO FAST. SKIPPING ONE MEAL IS NOT A FAST! ITS JUST SKIPPING A MEAL. WE EVOLVED TO FAST. NOTHING DROPS DOWN INFLAMMATION LIKE FASTING. TAKE MINERALS...NO MUSCLE LOSS. SPEAKING AS A JACKED MAN WITH 100+ FASTS UNDER MY BELT. I`M JUST STRONG IN THE GYM AFTER.

    Fasting is being explained X amount of times in the recent decade, its benefits as well. But hearing the Mineral fix expert's perspective is a whole another level. Thro the lens of minerals everything is different. It's a DiNicolaantonio's advantage🙌🏻

    Finally real data about muscle loss during fasting..In the other side I developed Hashimoto's and I think long term OMAD is a major reason in my problem....Thank you Sr. James please keep up these valuable videos

    I find it easier to skip dinner and crave breakfast within 2 hours of waking. so I'll eat 8-9am and 1-2pm.

    Great content here, thank you. I've been intermittent fasting for a while now (no breakfast) and have heard about all the benefits of fasting from the pro-fasting or pro-Keto community, but it was very interesting hearing your further explanations as to WHY things happen in the body the way they do and what it actually means. Enlightening.

    In guyton and halls textbook of medical physiology it talk about how growth hormone increases fat mobilization from adipose tissue, thus the FFA are used for energy instead of protein. Therefore the GH acts as a protein sparer.

    What is your opinion on people like Dr. Goldhamer from True North who for years has recommended an SOS free diet after his water fast protocol and has stated this is the key to longevity and lowering blood pressure over the long haul?

    Hello Doc, I love your content.
    Can you explain why fasting for longer than 2 days could lead to acidosis issued being that our ancestors regularly went without food for days or even weeks before their next hunt?

      Probably because it’s not life threatening but it does probably weaken bones until the next meal can resupply the bone with nutrients and protein.

      Gotcha. I ask because I've read Dr Fung's books and supposedly fasting does not cause muscle loss. If that's the case, why would our bodies retain the muscles and not the bones?
      Thoughts?

      We do lose some muscle with fasting

    What do you think about gout flare ups since Uric Acid is increased during a fast?

      Yes ketones compete with uric acid for excretion out the kidneys so prolonged fasts can increase gout attacks
