I know I'm over a year late to the video, but this was super helpful to me. I just started getting back into the game after about 500 or so days on hiatus (according to the only clanmate letter I got, lol). Used to be a Seeker main and loved it, but after trying out Alchemist I immediately fell in love with it. Such a fantastic class, and probably my favorite tank class in any game. After realizing I can straight up crush fools with the Gold Armor skill while I'm airborne I always finish lowbie enemies that way, haha. Thanks again for all your videos, I'll be checking out the other classes after this video. =)
@@caiobruno8006 Sorry, I wish I had the same free time I used to have when I made this video, but you can ask on the community's Discord for tips. They're pretty helpful with new people. Also I'm glad someone still remember this channel and comment ❤️ thanks
I'm a little late here but I just started playing ddon again after playing briefly a year ago. I loved alchemist but struggled to make him work in the later levels. Your video has shown me soooo much potential I missed and has inspires me to give him another shot!
Really helpfull. Its a shame that this game never came to EU, but I'm finally able to play it on an custom server... still at early age and the most stuff dosent work. But the community is working hard on it :D And the gameplay is so much fun. The Alchemist really feels cool and I love this class :) Still need to learn it tho and discover its secrets : D
Rapha The Kid There wont be western release, confirmed. PD: This video was recorded by a PS4 outside of Japan, feel free to download it from japanese PS Store
Cyrain Dogma I see... was the obvious conclusion, tbh. I've tried on my PS3 once by changing the proxy, Cyrain, but it couldn't connect with my wi-fi like that. Idk if only a firewall could block this and was the cause, but playing entirely in japanese wouldn't satisfy me. I'm a huge Dragon's Dogma fan, and have the Dark Arisen version for PS3. Had 700+ hours of my main arisen corrupted and deleted by a quick power out, but at least i have a secondary one on another account. I've desired so much a sequel with bigger map like Julian's or Mercedes's region, plus jobs that use spear and knuckles... would be amazing XD
@@calvincuonz2740 It depends what do you need. Seeker is way better than alchemist for damage (even if both were soloing). All the other qualities that alchemist have are on this video, since blue vocations are more effective on a party when supporting their allies than when they only focus on damage.
And instead of very versatile alchemist, we got a puny pacifist asslicker trickster all the while Elemental Archer dubbed as Magick Archer and Hunter dubbed as Archerv replaced much more superior Strider in DD2..
Hi I love dragon's dogma and I love your vids. you made me want to play this game so much. I would like to main alchemist but the other classes look really fun as well. to get the augments need to make the blow power alchemist what tips can you give to level the other vocations and what tips in general to give to a new player?
Hi there! Thanks for watching it! I'm really glad you like the video :) The tips i can give you to get the other augments its to wait for the bounty week event that Capcom release like once every 1 or 2 months, this "Bounty week event" makes many specific quests spawn that give you an insane amount of XP by completing them. This way you can level up any vocation very fast xD like 6-7 times faster than regular XP farming (without events). For the tips i can give you as a new player, i'll recommend to explore and learn all vocation mechanics while you make your way to max level, and take your time getting there. This game is more enjoyable as you take your time doing stuff, because there's many things you can do before reaching end-game content. And about elixers, you can get them in the craft room or buy them from some specific NPCs. The only elixer you cannot buy from an NPC is "Gilding", being obligatory to craft them if you want to get them.
thanks for the fast reply! I'm having a lot of fun with this game and your warrior and alchemist vids really amaze me and I hope I can be as good as you. also quick question do you play on world 13?
Glad you like the warrior guide too :) this last 2 months i havent been able to play since classes at university and working takes up all my time, but yea, i used to play in World 13 most of the time.
cool! I hope classes aren't too much of a pain. In the demonstration fights against the bosses what was your custom moveset? What I saw was Main Moveset: Dolus Aeris Rex Elementa Alma Secta Golda Aurum Sub Moveset: Dolus Aeris Dolus Morsus Golda Aurum Alma Secta When would I want to switch to say the skill Alchemical Burst (Since that looks like the coolest skill ever) or other skills in general? It seems the traps and Golda Aurum are pretty much essential along with Rex Elementa/
Great guide, makes me feel like i've been playing alchemist wrong this whole time xD, then again im new to ddo in general. I do have 1 question though, is there any quick way to tell what an enemy's weakness is... or is that just the sort of thing you learn as you go?
Pyxus Don't worry xD the point of this video is to show how it should be played, since most of main red vocations i met along 2 years in this game feels kinda annoyed when an alchemist acts like an "only" damage dealer. And to your question, usually that's something you learn when playing. Also, don't be afraid to ask your party about elemental weakness of certain monsters in case you don't know. Most of cases it depends the element of the enemy, like Fire weak to Ice, Ice weak to Thunder, Thunder weak to Fire, and Dark and Holy are weak to each other. But sometimes there will be situations where the element of the enemy is not so easy to know, so a green job can show it's elemental weakness when revealing the color of the core of an enraged boss.
You could get that jewerly through Bitterblack Maze bracelets or Alchemist dragon trinkets which you can buy with PP after Lv70. About the other guides, l don't know if l would do more since currently l only main alchemist and used to main warrior.
Are you able to read japanese? Cuz I'm having a very excruciating time navigating this game on ps4 using google translate lol. Other than that I think this video is excellent and will definitely use it as a reference when building my alchemist. Is it like arisen where you have to lvl as other classes to get the most out of the class you want?
KuRoMoN Glad you like the video :) I learned just a very few japanese words while playing this game since I knew nothing about it when I started playing, but the DDON english community has been posting many translated guides about this game that helped me and many other players to know how all this works. And yes, since you can use any vocations augments on any other vocations, some of them will be useful for different vocations, other ones will only be useful on its own vocation. For example, augments that boosts physical strength (from Fighter) can increase damage dealing for Fighter, Hunter, Seeker, Warrior, Alchemist, Spirit Lancer, High Scepter and shield based attacks from Shield Sage (since this last one is the only hybrid vocation, shield is physical and wand is magic). In the other case, there's an augment for Fighter that increase the speed animation of the "Gouge" attack, in this case, it would be useless to equip has any other vocation but Fighter. Hope this reply could clear your doubts about those questions :)
KuRoMoN Sure, they're mostly in Discord. If I remember correctly, the Discord link for "Wyrm Hunt" group should be posted in Dragon's Dogma Online Reddit forum.
Yea, it's relative to max level since through leveling you're supposed to learn how to use the class, but I realized there are many end-game alchemist who think it's another class focused on dealing damage (Spoiler: It is NOT). And about PP jewelry, you don't need to know that until the game introduce you in it when you reach Lv70.
I use Dolus Morsus, Dolus Aeris, Golda Aurum and Alma Secta. It's a pretty generic palette for a support alchemist since now there's EX skills (unlockeable after Lv85) but will be enough if you know how to use them. There's other many useful skills, so make sure you try them all :)
Oh shit I didn't knew I could detonate those things. I'm playing with a private server and I've been an alchemist for a while lvl12 and didn't know I could detonate those
Hi, this guide is kinda outdated since there's also EX skills and an AoE shield skill that I didn't cover since it was added in an update after this video was made, but the basics are still the same, so I hope this helps you to understand how the class works. Have fun playing DDON PS :)
Wait for bounty week and use double XP ring that works till Lv80. MIght take you 3-4 days if you grind all day. Or you could buy a premium passport that doubles XP (triple with XP ring below Lv80) and someone carry you in high level bounties (because Premium passport unables XP penalty due level difference), might take you like 5-6 hours. If you dont want to wait till bounty or use a premium passport, then grind any dungeon of your level, but might take you like 2-3 weeks
You get it at the start of the game. It's a ring with a golden background that should be in your storage box. In the bottom of the description of it, should say XP. It just doesnt give double XP for turning in Main Quests (Red quests), but it does for everything else.
Well, if you're willing to do damage, you could try to use Cluster into any enemy. Cluster is the fastest way to make a fully alchemical stake, and most alchemist's damage comes from elixir xD
