Hey Jake, we tested preset rondels being the same for all players, we tested a random rondel being the same for all players and we tested each player having their own random rondel. Ultimately we went with the latter. The previous two, while functional, were not as fun and there was a lot of players doing the exact same string of actions. The variability and difference in play style created by each player having their own rondel won our hearts. It made the game feel less scripted, more exciting and more challenging. You can't just copy your opponent action for action.
Another great playthrough. It's going to be hard waiting all year for this one to "ship". Looking forward to seeing the Cursed of Amdiak video!
Been waiting for this playthrough 😀
Looking forward to the Amdiak one too.
At 13:00, should blue had been jostled, since he had 2 deckhands at cannon? That would be a tie, right?
You're right, I should not have been jostled as that was a tie.
Why did you guys choose to go with a random rondel for each player opposed to every player having the same rondel setup? Was a standard setup tested?
