- Step one to getting any project started, is to get the project started! Unfortunately for our customers Chevy El Camino their tired little small block Chevy only starts when and if it wants, so time for a brand new Powermaster starter! In this case it's a Powermaster 9112 starter.
Any time you are doing a starter replacement on a car with headers there's usually some tricky fitment you need to work around. Fortunately with these powermaster units you can clock them in pretty much any way you want, to avoid header tubes and/or the block. Nifty units! And plenty or torque to turn over even a high compression motor.
Love the ole El Caminos, I still have my 65 Camino since HS in 82.😊 Back in the day Dad had an old 60 El Camino with a 348 and 3x2 carbs, solid cam and it ran pretty good.
My Uncle had one when I was a kid. It was a white 65. He repainted it blue. It was a cool car.
Hey Rich, looks like you said the put lipstick trying to cover up mechanical issues. Of course you said they’re in the market for a replacement engine. Thank you for sharing!
💯👊👍
Busy shop...warm weather and the toys need attention...good content and thanks....🔧👍
Thanks

Looks like they repaired over the sway bar mount 😮
That is a huge coincidence that there are two dang near identical Elcamino’s in the same area! It looks like the one the Bill bought for Mrs Vicki on OMG @old man’s garage, except his is in better condition!!
Dang, I guess I should have torn down the corvette head to show the carnage from the dropped valve. They only made 130000 elcos from 64 to 70 so there might be more than 1 in Ohio. Its ok. We will keep showing what we do with customers cars..... the black Monte and the elco are not our vehicles.
@@richardlucore6813 I’m well aware of that! And I know it’s not the same car, but it is coincidentally the same color and wheels as Bill’s but Bill’s is in much better condition. That’s all I was saying. I love what y’all do, so yea, keep doing it. I wasn’t being negative in any way , Rich. My apologies if it was taken or sounded that way!!
@@ericszatkowski6001 No worries!! Have a great day! Thanks for watching our bits.
@@richardlucore6813 Love the content and have a great day as well!!!
Don’t know what the beeping noise was but it sounded like you had it on life support. 😀
Crazy how that black 79' Monte and now this turquoise El Camino show up looking just like Old Mans Garage rides.
Doppel Gangers or what?
If that was a Ford you would of had to tow it in the shop lol love the content ✌️
Love the videos !
Check the frame it's toasted
Wish i could come work for you.
Cool 😎 !
Nice job but you did t show the fun part of taking and putting the wires on and off
They actually came right off. Tilt the starter back and remove 3 nuts. Pretty uneventful starter change..... I was suprised.
Get ahold of Bill from old man's garage
this is basic auto repair.
what happened to all the projects? where's the 451 for the charger or the 304 for the amx?
Rich, what the story on the 68 Bird on front lift??
That one is up today
Cheers!
