Great video thanks for inspiration. I have a 98 twin to that truck sitting the back waiting for some time and love. I have a 4.8 laying around, maybe throw a Chinese turbo on it. Good on the owner for keeping it in that kind of shape and not having to deal with all the driver aids todays trucks come with.

Wish you guys were in Washington state. I plan to do this for my '99 Tahoe.
I just bought a 1990 Corvette ZR1 with the dual overhead cam, 32 valve LT5 engine designed by Lotus with only 74k on it. Car needs restoring because it sat for a while and was neglected but runs great. Thinking about pulling the motor and putting it in my 1997 C1500.

Damn, i got a '96 same emerald green. I was in the process of converting the k1500 with 2500hd drivetrain till a resedential neighbor rear ended it...while parked...infront of my house...on my birthday. Cant make that shit up lol
Selling it this week to become someone elses project...will definitely buy another in the future when the moneys right. Cat eyes 2500hd 408 build is next!

180k is high mileage on a 350? My 97 is pushing 300k and I don't think twice about going on a road trip with it.
Mine has 330+k on her no smoke uses a bit of oil but still going strong but I'm getting ready to put an LS1 in it soon just needs more power.

If it’s stock you don’t want a 4l80e super slow first gear
They apparently have someone who doesn't know how to wire properly or tune properly. I did this swap to my 98 z71 truck and only use the LS computer. All factory gauges and abs work as they should using only the LS wiring, computer, tuning, and sensors ABSOLUTELY no need to run both computers on the truck.

I have a 2001 chevy 2500 HD with the 6.0 that just turned 300,000 and have never put a wrench to it other than the normal wear and tear, water pump, alternator, and two fuel pumps. Still turning the original power steering pump. I hope it starts in the morning.....knock on wood.

How did you hook up the gauges using the original wiring from the 5.7 harness

Fuel lines what did y'all use for that are you guys still using the factory fuel pump? Power steering hoses?
how is the transmission controlled? with the old VCM where does it get the signal from the engine.
so if you are running two computers is there another obd2 connector?
What air intake is that? I've got a 97' gmc 1500 with a 6.0 swap done. The guy who had it before me put an autozone intake on it.

I did a 12v cummins swap in mine... way better then that gas hog 6.0L. I get 21 mpg highway and 18 in town. That's with 37 inch tires and 1 ton suspension.

I have a 1995 GMC full size suburban with a 5.7 the TBI I'm looking to upgrade it with a 60 can you tell me what type of wiring harness I will need and what it will cost for you guys to create one.

You guys are able to reprogram the computer of that truck? I would think the 6.0 would be running lean because the truck still thinks it has a 5.7. Correct?

Ls is a good motor bye far but thats alot of work for such an old rig what i want to do with my 97 tahoe is take a suburban chassis axles and 4l80e trans and transfer case and put into my 97 and then take the 5.7l vortec and punch some horse power and some torque in her, its still a great motor ,put some shorty headers and a high flow cats and you my friend will have a hot rod 4x4 !

Kudro Rico it'd be cheaper and easier to just buy one already equipped with a 6.0 or 8.1
what flex plate and adapter did you need? i used a 5.3 for my trans and and i still have my 96 built 4l60e transmission its nice to know i can still use it!!
also how did you hook up your original tach? would yoi happen to know what i need to splice into to get my tach and speedometer working!?!
Wo WEEDMAN oW, the input shaft, torque converter and bellhousing are different. Swapping those parts would let you use all GM parts.

I have the 5.3, its a great engine and strong running. Just not a ton of power, all in all I like it.
