The Māori in recent history committed an absolutely brutal genocide against the other (peaceful) indigenous group of New Zealand, the Moriori, and have refused to acknowledge this. The third group of New Zealanders, the ones with European descent, are the only ones who have helped try to salvage the Moriori language and culture and given millions of New Zealand dollars to help the Moriori descendants, despite having nothing to do with the genocide against them, but simply because they are good people who actually selflessly care about other groups of people without expecting anything back. The bill she is ripping in half was a bill proposing equal rights for all New Zealanders. She doesn’t want non-polynesians to have the same rights as the Māori.
