Bileath may have told Ansool to use just one drop to prolong Qabar’s suffering, but on the other hand if he died immediately after drinking the tea they might know he was poisoned. Instead, they were able to pass it off as a Daevite illness. I like how Ansool still loves his brother despite what he’s become.
And Qabar loved his brother as well (if that's what his dying wish tells). Or even if he only cared for Ansool for the sake of continuing the dynasty, I like to believe that he loved him unbeknownst to him who killed him.
I am so excited for these works to be animated or something one day. Maybe technology will make it easier for creators to bring peak fiction to life... a man can dream.
I love how straight forward it happened; the poison just went in and the drink was drank. And it went as planned. Something about that sort of story beat, where most writers would make a twist happen but a truly good writer just makes it so.
That is such a fantastic series. The way you tell it is just captivating. I dont get it, you dont do voices and sound effects, but bro, I could listen to you tell stories all fuckin day. NEVER CHANGE. Its your thing, like nat geo documentary, but SCP version. Perfection
Please don't get burned out or feel you have to post a ton. A lot of us subscribed because we love your scp videos, and with how new scps are written every day you would have enough content to last years. I kinda miss the shorter scp videos! Love your stuff
thank you rounderhouse obviously it was a tragic story but better than a true tragety of everyone dying so good job but seriously. as usual, amazing work. you're the best damned writer alive, in my opinion
Thank you TES & Rounderhouse, I really love ancient history so this Canon is up my alley, nice Roman Legion reference with the decimation hopefully soon there is another multipart series, where they find some fleshy-abomination to give the team some information and perspective on Adytum and the Nalka

Waited for this with a rare anticipation. From the day I first listened to the Scp 001 entry for Amoni-Ram on your channel I was enraptured by it. This story is everything I wanted, more on this expanded universe. More Amoni-Ram.
"Absolutely power corrupts Absolutely." I always found this quote interesting. It implies any unchecked hero will become a villain... but isn't that also redemption? A villain om a villainous thrown can be corrupted by good and become a hero.
I've always preferred the other version "Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible"
I've always liked that quote but prefer a different version "Power reveals" it's not that power always corrupts good people but it reveals who people truly are behind the masks and inhibitions that they usually carry.
@TheDreadfulDrifter That's a pretty cool way to put it. Succinct, haha. I think the idea of "corruption" is meant more like "change." People might compromise their ideals to make regrettable decisions, but I think feelings of regret and sympathy proves that power didn't corrupt them or reveal their true selves. It simply changed them to a person that had to make tough decisions, but they r still the loving and sympathetic person they always were. Someone that asks themselves if the ends justified their means is probably not corrupted, but hardened
Wow, I did not expect this seemingly straight forward tragedy to be about generational trauma. Also, Harram is such a fascinating character. Making a utilitarial with a heart so believable and likeable is not an easy thing. Huge props to the author and to Mr. Exploring for his amazing choice of story and narration
A complete monster and a magnificent bastard, Qabar. Feels like karma, the end, and later the Mekhanites losing their gloried power by the time the SCP Foundation became a things many, many ages later. Meanwhile, I'm curious on how the Daevites and Sarkites are doing, with their own leaders' points of view.
My day just got a whole lot better! I've been waiting for the second part of this amazing story! Thank you 🙏 brother for all the hard work you put into these stories.😊👍
I have been subscribed to this channel since May 2nd, 2019. Every week, for however many years it's been, I have listened. And this, this has been my favorite story that had ever been read on this channel. thanks, the exploring series, for bringing these videos, for all this time. ❤️
I must be a romantic at heart because through everything that happened I'm just happy that Ansool and Bileath got to be together in the end. This story had me hooked the whole way through; thanks Rounderhouse. You wrote a wonderful tale.
Even better they actually lived happily ever after, with Bileath being empress and allowed to be awesome with tech and Ansool always having her back against anybody who tried to deny her skills. Her son would try to wipe away her achievements but Ansool's memory would not be altered.
I was so invested in Ansool and Bileath's relationship, i was HOPING they would end up being okay and they did ! Awesome SCP tale all around, Rounderhouse keeps making some of my favorite SCPs of all time like it was nothing, incredible writer for real
This story was great and I enjoyed you telling it for us. The only thing I would have liked to have more of was the Daevites army and how they waged war.
Im a spotify girlie so im literally only here to comment. Im halfway through part 2 of this and it has wrecked me. God all i want is a good ending for them but lord do i know I wont get it. This shit has fucked me up.
Im on a 6hr car ride and have been listening to this for about half of it. I have cried multiple times. I broke a pencil on accident. My mother has asked me if im alright 3 times. This damn story. The allusions. The flow of the plot. The character development. The gorgeous setting. I hate it all. Im going to throw something.
Can someone help me remember the SCP entry about a town that disappears and reappears at random times, that you're not meant to stop or talk to the locals if you drive through the town.

I still laugh because they forgot the God they abandoned... Always working behind in front and inside they forgot. Do you hear the howling? Does a dead God dream? Why does a dog run in it's dream? The black moon was always there. 😂 His name is Death and you can never escape the end.
Was concern the plan was nna be foiled, but nope! The bastard died a miserable death. Also at first i always sided with the mekanites... lately im unsure if they are the lesser evil.
I was very much looking forward to this but I'm honestly pretty disappointed The narrative is pretty skin deep when it comes to exploring generational abuse and I was hoping for more as this is something I can relate to. That being said, Ansul's character development was really good, starting off as a one-dimensional soft boy but by the end he comes to realise just how much the generational abuse passed down to him by his father affects him. To the point that he basically kills his father in a fit of rage, that was very interesting and it was good to see the flaws in his character. The empress was also interesting as it highlights how women become trapped in this cycle of abuse as well, to the point of internalised misogyny although I feel like the narrative could have leaned into that more. The worst parts are the characters of Karram and Bileath. Both are very one dimensional characters who are presented as one thing and one thing only with no real complexity. Karram is evil and sadistic and that's it. Why not make Ansul's choice to kill him harder by having him display conflict in his character right at the end? Bileath is the worst. She reminds me of the main character from Man in the High Castle (the Prime one). Things happen to her and her character doesn't really change as a result? We're told she's a natural born leader OKAY HOW? We're told she could do be a scholar if she wanted to because she's that brilliant OKAY AND? What is her main flaw? What is her character beyond #fightingthepatriarchy ?? It would have been interesting to see generational abuse/trauma between mother and daughter in Bileath's character, some kind of flaw that makes her relatable or admirable but we didn't get that. Aside from that, I think the story ended pretty well. Very much looking forward to the final article from this author.
Also I swear if I ever hear the term "nooks and crannies", referring to someone's body, in an SCP story again I will actually have an aneurysm. The whole romance was pretty dull tbh, they could have been childhood friends and it would have been the same. It was love at first sight 🥺 OKAY AND?

While I usually prefer the "regular" SCP formats, this story here was an absolute blast to listen to.
Rest in pieces, Harram.
Like all the best tragedies, you can see the trainwreck coming from a mile away, but the characters can't do anything to avoid it

What an epic story! It's crazy to think how all this started as a few random articles on the internet. Storytelling, pure and simple.
I've never felt my heart beat so clearly and so loud while watching this channel as I did when Ansool poured the poison..
