    For those who don’t know Ȝ was an old English letter called Yogh‬. And the sound it made was complicated. It sometimes was a replacement for G. Other times a replacement for J. And this was back when the J in English made the same sound it dose in German.

    • @hunter_0221
      @hunter_0221 Рік тому +36

      Which is interesting, since in some German dialects the "G" sound is replaced by the "J" sound.
      As you correctly claimed, the German "J" sound is not comparable to the English one. The German "J" is equivalent to the English "Y".
      So think "Yesundheit" - that's actually how some Germans say it.

    It's all of their own believes of a sneeze doing them in, omg! Example: I may believe that saying "bless you" is courteous and shows that you are fortunate of living without an aneurysm happening because it is always a likely possibility that seems to be close to happening. If one does not, it means you want them dead. If these condition is not met in that tomb there, the person has a higher chance at dying. They either need to stop believing in their own beliefs of a sneeze (good luck with that) or do the very thing that could make sure they don't become a liability.

      The chief engineer, now possessed by a demon, who had been committing murders alongside Plesko, since the latter only committed 3 successful sacrifices so far, the rest being the chief's.
      As for Captain Cassidy, it can be inferred she had acute paranoia of traitors, and the tomb is currently the only secure place in the camp that cannot be breached normally without instruments or firearms... both of which she kept on her own person at the end. Most likely, her actions were so that she can finally rest at ease from all this paranoia she had to deal with herself over atleast 4 days, and her knowing she "lost her soul" the previous day due to the sneezing.

    That's what I was asking from the start; what exactly is the significance of sneezing? I've seen people lose their shit because that _could_ be a possible anomalous contamination. Yet, the only thing to immediately happen adverse was to Neller. Everybody else just thought sneezing did something. I really saw no evidence otherwise, so I guess I would have been safe (from myself, at least) 🤷🏻‍♂

    I think the ending was a little weak. I really liked the idea of the skeptic being pretty much OK under the faith-based curse, but then it got changed without real reason. If the curse weaponized the faith of the individual, the skeptic should be just fine.

    This is one of the better newer SCP's. It actually focuses on the SCP.
    And this is plausible as the discovery log, instead of the best description of it being a tale in the wrong section.

    Usually, I get dressed in the morning and at 9 I head downstairs and say "bye" to the people in my group home then wait outside for my cab to arrive to take me to my day program. As of recently I was supposed to bring my ukulele for lessons at my day program. I'm a little embarrassed to say I was so invested with this SPC case and my multitasking that I looked out my window, saw my cab was there waiting for me, it was already way past time I should have headed downstairs, went to get in my cab and had realized I had left my ukulele in my bedroom. Fortunately, my teacher had one I could work with today. I still managed to say "bye" to the folks in my group home and of course thanked my teacher as always. All in all, thanks for this case, The Exploring Series and SPC.

    So this is a prelude to the SCP where the deavite empire returns. But lest we forget what happened when that occurred. A modern state thoroughly disconnected from the last empire appeared. As the book was in fact a fanfiction work written by a self styled british historian who wasn’t happy with the way the empire actually died.

  • @WoziduranJahemter

    The sneezing is for liberating from any smokey-shadows afflictions and is good to sneeze. Also saying blessings with good intents helps alot also!
    The SCP-7291 was made as a portal and tomb for the spirits of the ancestors, where that civilization went was another strange plane of existence that isn't compatible with the decency of our world so it is better to destroy that place as it might be a desolation place of decay. It's also a sub-level dimensionality of spirits that went sealed underneath it so those who have abstained from sneezing accumulated lots of residual shadow energy of the foul spirits that were circulating in the unseen fumes(that black cat was a guardian guide to give advice by presence and demeanor). It's bad to go into those kind of places with biases or scientific materialistic beliefs and that buildings were made for the passage to unknown worlds that end in doom for the tresspasers that aren't initiated by the native culture that had passed so no need to go after those goners.
    One certain thing is known for sure about this kind of covens: there are tricksterish gods that gather entire civilizations or adepts and then give them instructions to get into their worlds. Some monuments and portals are better to be left or be destroyed in order to block them from afflicting harmony of the world.
