    What does my future in hockey look like, where will I play next season? I'll address both in this video. I did a staycation at the Hotel Vancouver, flew back to Winnipeg, quick business trip and a mother's day surprise for my mom, and an update on my Muay Thai training! :)

    Love your videos and podcast, Trav. Great fan here, but you have to stop promoting your big size and cool looking in front of the camera, and focus more on your technique and speed if you want to get the scouts' attention. You do really look like a big guy in front of the net, and that puts the spotlight over your head. Lots of goalies jealously dream of your size. But your ability is the most important thing as a former (or still) elite player and I would strongly suggest you to not give up and focus 100% on that ONLY from now on. Trust me if you can do that, lots of opportunities will come. Best of luck.

    I think Matthews ended a lot of goalie dreams. To be clear, this isn't a Matthews is the greatest, fanboy stuff. Goaltending was for years very much about prediction. Be in the right spot, know the play, know where to be and know when a player is going to pass and when they are going to shoot. Matthews changed all that and not because of what he can do, but because of what he taught others to do. There's a lot of players in the show you can't predict, that goes out the window. Sure prediction is still a part of the game, but now it's more important to be able to react. That's gotta be a huge shift.
    I would bet that a lot of guys who were really good at reaction but not as much able to predict have switched places with the prediction guys on who is looking at them and they are being looked at a lot more seriously. I could be wrong though. I'm very interested in what people who know think about that.

    The part about your hands sinking down and making you small, leading to goals has so much to do with the fact that you shave down your stick to be so small, that it totally hinders your height, and makes you play small. People have been saying this for a while now. Hopefully you finally adjust.

    • @trav4oilers
      @trav4oilers  18 днів тому

    Why do you keep calling it your pro goalie. Sorry I wouldn't say that, you have played like 2 games for 7 different teams

      More than 2 games man. 4 years of minor pro is more than many. Regardless thank you for watching the vlog :)

    INSTEAD OF WASTING TIME ON SOME GARBAGE 300 DOLLAR PER WEEK LEAGUE, FOCUS ON SOMETHING IN HOCKEY OPERATIONS, OR SOME OTHER AREA OF THE GAME.. HONESTLY, THE SKILL LEVEL IS JUST NOT THERE TO BE ANY KIND OF PRO... FOCUS ON SOMETHING ATTAINABLE, BEING A PLAYER IS DELUSIONAL.... AND PLAYING IN THE FED IS NOT PRO HOCKEY.. MOST OF THE PLAYERS THERE ARE FORMER D3.. OR LOW LEVEL JUNIORS.... ITS A VERY LOW LEVEL OF SKILL
