It’s been so many years I’ve used a relaxer that I don’t even remember how straight I liked it I just remember working the product in especially at my edges front and back
Yes, my nape also processes fastest so I do it last. Stylists used to do my nape first and it would always be damaged and break off. BTW, I tried the half and half method a few times and loved it.This means I would do half my head - front half, then nest day or two did the back half. Learned that on YT and it helped me not over process my hair. I only wanted relaxer on my hair 10 min max. Natural for 4 years now, but thinking of relaxing.
Wouldn't the front have less time with the relaxer on it is you always start at the back? If you needed to correct maybe start at the front quarters first?
I self relaxed last weekend and the front/top area of my head is under processed (because I put product on the area in the morning then relaxed in the evening. I believe the hair moisturizer reduced the effects of the relaxer.) So my question is how long should I wait before I try correct it? I have strong mixed hair so I wonder if its ok to try relax that section again a week after or should I wait longer? *I use Motions (Regular) relaxer as well
I would wait longer closer to 2 months. I waited a month to do my corrective relaxer and it broke off all of my edges so if it were me I would wait even longer than that like 2-3 months unfortunately or go see a professional
Hi Niara, I've been natural for the past 8 years and I'm about to get my hair relaxed 😁 I'm a bit anxious and excited and just wanna do as much correct. I've watched most of your videos and I think you've mentioned a few times that you wear hair in protective styles during summer and have your hair open during the winter season. Would like to know why is that and if you would recommend to someone else to try it?
Hi! I do that because my hair doesn’t do well in the summer with the additional heat from the sun. I also don’t want to fight the heat & humidity trying to keep my hair straight. It’s just easier for me & I also think it’s important to give the hair a break for a period of time. All that heat, relaxer, styling can do a lot to your hair so it’s a break for mine
I am texlaxed and for some reason I have tufts of "natural" hair randomly in the middle where the rest (roots and ends) is somewhat straight. Can I correct that or just start over 🤣
That’s the tricky part I was talking about. You probably didn’t process in those areas enough. Honestly I would leave it or go to a professional to see if they can help. I would be prepared thought for breakage because you now have 2 points of demarcation vs 1
I leave mine in for 30-40 min (max strength) and it still isn’t all the way straight, it still has texture and reverts back to my old texture like 50% within a few days. I’m really not sure what I’m doing wrong.
@@NiaraAlexis thnx for the advice, I may just have to go to a professional because my hair for whatever reason doesn’t seem to like ANY of the over the counter relaxers in the store. It doesn’t rly do much for me despite me leaving it on for so long. Idk why. My hair is very weird and stubborn
Thanks! I’ve never relaxed my hair every 6 months. I wear braids & twists all summer. I relax once at the start of fall and again at the start of the new year
This just happened to me. And IDK why. I left it on for 15 minutes. How long do I have to wait to put another relaxer in? Sorry if you answered that already..
No I don’t. I don’t relax my hair to be bone straight I like a little bit of texture left. I just needed the textures to match which they were before I corrected
Thanks for the video! Thanks a lot! and I say want to say this with love because you work so hard and it is much appreciated but I feel this video goes way way too fast and you are stressed out, not the best vibe, you dont seem excited at all about you getting a new relaxer, I assume you are trying to film as much as you can and get as many videos as you can from one session but like I said, I dont see any passion like I used to see in your past videos. It is just an opinion, not trying to bring you down, we all have better days than others. Thanks again, hair came out beautifully

Am loving the result ❤and hair looks healthy 😍
Thank you! 🤎
Your hair came out beautiful as usual ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!!
It turned out really well. 💜

Oh Yes Girl!! Your hair is" bangin" 👌🏽!!. I must get that ghost oil .
It's so good!
You apply the relaxer on your nape first? I thought that was the most sensitive area and will process to quickly!
It can be different for some. I’ve always applied there first and so have the stylist that didn’t hair when I was younger
@NiaraAlexis Oh ok 👍🏾

I start in the back because my hair there takes longer to process. My edges & front of my hair don’t take as long to process
Curious how long it takes you to apply relaxer before it sits the 10 minutes. TY!!
Around 10 minutes!

Relaxer might not be for you or maybe try another brand but I wouldn’t ever recommend leaving it on for that long

Hey! Can you remind me whether you prepoo your hair before washing? Also, did you apply anything to the previously relaxed ends?
I put in Jamaican black castor oil the day before i wash
Hello, your hair always looks wonderful! Sorry if I missed this part, but do you still relax every 6 months?

I wait about 4-6 weeks
@@NiaraAlexis thx
My hair is alwayd underprocessed. I think the time is too short. I leave it in for like 15 minutes. What should i do
Leave it in for longer
Thanks for showing i how to correct under processed hair❤❤
No problem🤎
This always happens when I wait too long to relax my daughter’s roots.
Sis Don't you think you should use super/extra strengh relaxer ??
No I don’t. I don’t relax my hair to be bone straight I like a little bit of texture left. I just needed the textures to match which they were before I corrected

Everyday won’t be 100%. I was tired this day and still needed to do my hair. It happens
Loving the end result, but that pimple wont let you be girl. Try putting baking soda on it for a few minutes then wash it out🙏🏼
It happens! It was a hormonal breakout 🤷🏾♀️
