That’s was the main reason, I stop self relaxing my hair because I was always under process it. That’s the only time I go to hair salon is for my relaxer

It happens!! You can do everything "right" and still under-process from the Product it's self. It might be old when we buy it or just a bad batch from the company. Love the side part😍

Your hair still looks beautiful. I’ve never heard of a corrective relaxer. Learn something new every day.

Your hair still came out beautifully
It was smart you under processed it versus burning the crap out of your scalp

It's beautiful!! I really like the side part, but I'm partial to side parts. I definitely don't blame you for wanting to do a corrective relaxer because no one has time for all of those different textures and lines of demarcation. That's a no, lol. 💜

    Makeup is so cute.
    Side part is rocking.
Bob cut could look good on you but I prefer longer hair, my mom used to say bob are for super skinny girls and I think longer hair is more versatile.
You didnt get it right: lye relaxers are better for the hair because they dont dry out it but are harsher on the scalp; no lye relaxers are more gentle to the scalp but make the hair drier.
    Thanks for the video

I like your hair just as usual... And actually I don't know I might be wrong but it seems like your hair is thining at the beginning of the middle part... But after the results was just amazing.
    Love from Cameroon

When you are doing the shampoo part influence a lot. Neutralizing shampoo can lift up the straightening, depending how you leave in. Switch into no lye, way better

Your hair always looks beautiful. I have experienced severe hair breakage during the pandemic with the same motions relaxer. I just half and then did a touch up… I suppose since I had already opened the jar, it was somehow compromised. My hair fell out continuously for 3 months. I recommend always getting a new jar. Thxs for the great content.

Appreciate the transparency with mistakes! Looking to start doing my own relaxers instead of going to the salon and this was helpful! Curious of your opinion on microlinks! Have you ever tried them and if not, are you against using them? Thank you!!😊

How do you do the back??? That is my biggest issue, because yes I can feel the new growth, but it won’t be as neat and will overlap because I can’t see exactly where the line of demarcation is

The relaxers loose strength after a while. They also expire that could be why you’re getting under processed. And NO to the no-lye relaxers

    • @NiaraAlexis
      @NiaraAlexis  Місяць тому

Yes but this one was fairly new! I check the expiration dates whenever I relax so I knew it wasn’t that. I think it’s just a user error 😂

Hawaiian silk has a premix no lye relaxer it’s the only one I could find. I went with no lye because lye is what the study was done on linking relaxers and cancer in black women.

Hey girl, I’ve been relaxed for 5 years now and here’s the difference between both relaxers if you didn’t know.
Lye relaxers tend to be less harsh on the hair strands but harsher on the scalp, leaving your hair with more texture.
No-lye is harsher on the hair strands less harsh on the scalp leaving your hair with a straighter look and less texture.
I’ve tried both and in my opinion I prefer no-lye relaxers which are in the box as it leaves my hair straight with a bit of texture and I never ever have under-processed hair but lye leaves my hair under processed.

Same boat as you! I went back and forth between lye and no lye and I’ve been relaxed for maybe 3 years now. I prefer no lye. Lye leaves my hair under processed everytime lol. And the it ends up breaking.
