    Thanks for your review. I just wish I had seen it 2 months ago before I bought one. Mine not only shoots low and left, but it has more failure to feed than any pistol ever should with all types of grains. 500 rds through it so far. Still haven't heard from FN since I reached out before Christmas. Honestly, I don't expect to. My FFL said they had never heard of the Reflex performing this way, yet there is plenty of content out showing exactly what you just proved to be a real problem. Where is the accountability FN?

    Mine is shooting low left and was having jamming issues. They said I can send it back but need to be broke in with 124gr ammo. So I went to the range started shooting and on the 5th magazine it did not cycle so I ejected magazine and there was a small round locking clip looking piece that fell out. I left the range came home and tried to disassemble slide and it got stuck. Had to pull the 2 pins and remove firing unit. Put it back together and seems to function but have no idea what that little round piece is that fell out. Any thoughts?

  • @Navy95
    @Navy95 Рік тому +7

    There may be tolerance stacking on your slide and or front sight making it too high on the reflex. Since the groups were excellent that rules out barrel deformation the slight leftward straying may be due to the sights being slightly off

    my Reflex has been an tac driver right out of the box. The only thing that worries me is the extremely light trigger pull. Yours is accurate also, the sights just need lined up. Raise the front site and move it to the right slightly and you'll be all set. No big deal.

    I like mine, but ended up swapping the rear sight out for a #8 sig DI sight. 0.306"
    After 2500 rounds however my reflex is deadlined with a crack behind the locking lug area. If you are curious, i cover complete disassembly of the frame and slide. 2 weeks and i still haven't gotten a reply from FN.
    Removing the finger extension and using a flush plate eliminated most of the left flyers.
    My reflex shipped with a #6 height sight. 0.261" is what my factory sight measured out at.
    Honestly if FN does warranty the frame crack, im going to get it back and move on to a different platform.
    It does one thing well though, and it's the only micro 9 i actually enjoy shooting a lot. I got it for carry with dress attire for office meetings. And up until the crack, it did that fairly well.
    Hopefully that helps you a little bit. I have a very detailed post on Reddit aub group, R/FNReflex with pictures.
    Nice video and thank you for being one of the few honest reviewers out there. 🤙

    I had the same issue, low and left. I adjusted the stock sight, pushing the rear to the right, and while it moved the POI, it was still low and groups were not great.
    I was frustrated but had put Sig XRAY sights on my FN509M. I got another pair of XRAYs(#8 front and rear) and put them on the Reflex. It shoots POA/POI with the sights centered on the slide.
    FYI, I pushed both sights out from right to left no issue after a drop of Slip2000 on the dove tail over night..
    Got over 1k through the gun now and it’s been 100% reliable.

    I own two of these, one mrd, and one standard version. Both shoot low left, just like yours. With the mrd I was able to compensate with a red dot, and now it’s great, but there is definitely an issue, and fn keeps denying it. I also own almost every other micro 9, and shoot them all well, the fn is my favorite, if not for the obvious accuracy issues. All the reports I have seen online about changing to #8 sig rear sights being the fix, also make no sense to me, as a #8 sig rear sight is actually shorter in height than the factory fn sight, which would make the low impact even worse.

    • @Guns_and_Outdoors_Channel

    • @superstang12
      @superstang12 Рік тому

      @@Guns_and_Outdoors_Channel you just go to sigs website and look for a number 8 rear sight. Or, optics planet or wherever you want to buy a sight from, and any sight made for a sig will have a number, like 6,8,10, etc, the number 8 will fit the dovetail, but it is shorter by my measurement, then the factory fn sight. I believe the sight used in the post I’m referring to, was a trijicon hd, and the poster reported much better Accuracy after install.

    I’m sending mine back in today to get the sights drifted. While on the phone with FN customer service they claimed that they’ve gotten a lot of these complaints and supposedly every single one that’s been sent in to them didn’t actually have a problem. I call major CAP on that one. I was shooting yesterday at 20 yards and had to aim a foot right and a foot high to hit my target. When I did hit the target it wasn’t even close to my sight picture. Other than that though the gun feels great

  • @walth5336
    @walth5336 7 місяців тому +1

    I'd bet there has been a bad batch or QC issue... I have one that has an issue, but it's not an accuracy/precision problem. In my case, it's a failure to go into battery at times... BUT I think I figured that out and is smoothing out now that I've but 350 rounds through it. My sights are what I've seen on most videos so not sure why. I do have to say because the trigger is different, as is grip angle, I've had to change my grip a little on this small firearm.

      After switching to 124 grain or higher and 400 rounds through it is shooting fine for me. 115 grain do shoot a little more erratic than the 124 grain. That could be the break in or me though to. The FTB seems to be when I don’t pull the slide far enough back.

    11 hours prior to watching this video. I sold my reflex for experiencing the same accuracy issue. I put approximately 800 rounds(different brands and weights) of ammunition through this firearm to no avail. All my shots/groups hit the target low and left of the bullseye at 15ft. Spoke to FN which stated the firearm was tested prior to leaving the factory. If it was shooting the way I described it, it wouldn't have left the factory. FN also stated it needs time to break in. I believe that approximately 800 would be considered broken in. I must say this about the Reflex. It has a great trigger. I did not have any type of malfunction and it felt great in the(my) hand. Same issue with mine, I love the gun carry it everywhere, but always shoots low left at the range. It’s not the shooter guys it’s the guns sights. None of my pistols have this issue. I am not overly worried when carrying, b/c if I need it at close range I can hit the target even if a few inches off center. But I do want to get this fixed, I like precision.

  • @FlyBoyBigBlue
    @FlyBoyBigBlue 8 місяців тому

    Mine did the same. I did a basic zeroing of my green dot off the sights right after purchase and went to the range. The first shot threw me off for a second. I thought it hadn’t been secured properly, but after checking it was good I figured I just didn’t rough zero it correctly and just aligned my dot. It’s been fine since, but yea, after seeing your results and others, I’m positive I have the same problem.
    On top of that, after 200+ rounds I’ve had a failure to return to battery in practically every mag and have to bump it in. It’s really soured my experience with this gun. I’ve read other people’s are having the same issue to usually a lesser extent, but FN is saying the same thing they told you about the break in nonsense. I don’t doubt some guns need a little time to fully get smooth, but malfunction after malfunction is not the same thing. Not to mention, none of my guns have ever needed this extensive a “break-in” period. From my hammer fired Sig229 to my cheapo Taurus G2c, all my Caniks, etc, they’ve all ran like butter right out the box, with my MC9 having one light strike 50 rounds in, but then running like clockwork multiple thousands of rounds after that. It’s really made me doubt this gun to say the least. Also sucks this is my first FN and I’m not impressed in the slightest. I’ve had so many buddies, gun shop guys, and media folks talk up their FN’s, but, this thing has me wondering if some of these were built by another company, or who knows what, because, this thing probably isn’t gonna stay with me long if its recent deep clean and light lube doesn’t solve the issue by 300 rounds. I don’t see how a company would use oil so gunky that it’d cause the weapon to constantly fail right out of the box, but, I entertained it, cleaned it, and await range time this Wednesday. So disappointed, even though I plan on selling it, if you’re reading this, I wouldn’t recommend this gun at all.

    One of the best and logical reasons the FN Reflex shoots low and left is because of equal tension with the pinky finger as the other two fingers. Less of that pull with the extended magazine. Other than that, this gun shoots as good as ANY other micr-9mm. Not a sight problem at all if that was ever brought up. Hope I worded that to understanding. In a nut shell and with the smaller mag, your pinky is the issue. 15 round? I'm grouped dead center at 7 yards.

    It sounds like FN made a production change to the sights on the Reflex at some point. But like Springfield and the hellcat trigger issue, I bet FN won’t comment at all - either for liability sake or because they don’t want to have have a mass influx of returned Reflex pistols to have to change sights out on.

      Lol that’s a dishonest answer from a gun expert. If the gun is shooting all over the paper in wild groups that’s an actual accuracy issue. You even admitted in the video it could be solved with a red dot. Fix the sights, or replace them. These issues are easily resolved, and issues with new firearms are common out of the gate.

  • @dirtydirt2416
    @dirtydirt2416 11 місяців тому

    Lol it’s so obviously a sight issue. I’m not sure why so many people in the comments along with this review consider it accuracy issues 😂. FN should have much higher standards in customer support to get this corrected. Sig had issues with the 365, and made the corrections. A red dot would be the answer, but co witness is a must. So if new irons need to be purchased that would be my suggestion if FN won’t make it right.

    • @AikiRonin21
      @AikiRonin21 10 місяців тому +1

      I agree. This is a common theme on Sig forums...."Why does my...shoot low?" Most of the time, it's the combat hold, sometimes, the wrong combination of front and rear sights.
      I'm this case, I wonder if they understand that "combat hold" means the dot on the front sight is your POI when your sights are aligned. You place the dot on what you intend to shoot, not just the front sight. A lot of people think "6 o'clock" hold is "sights on target," so when they go to what they believe is a "combat hold" with a "center hold" and are still too low on their hold.
      As far as the shooting left, part, yeah, seems like some drifting is in order. I had a Sig P229 that consistently shot left. I thought it was all me,til I got a new one, I sent to GrayGuns, because I wanted the legion trigger in the classic Sig bobtail frame. When that one came back, it came back a tack driver. I thought it was a grip issue with me, as the P229 grip is a little narrow for me. When I shot the GrayGuns upgraded one, I decided to change the sights on my old one. I marked the slide for the placement of the old sights and measured. With the sight on you couldn't tell, but with it removed, and just the lines, you could see, the rear sight was off center. I measured it, again and instead of placing the new sight in the same position as the old one, I placed it centered..I went to the range and brought my drifter to fine tune, but I didn't need to. It was dead one center all the way out to the bullet trap (20-25yards).
      I think those sights need some drifting. That's essentially what is going to be done with a red dot.

    Reference to the FN REFLEX has FN attempted to correct the problem of left to low pattern, or are they still saying it is the shooter? They say use the combat sight but that does not improve the group. The vice will still not shoot any better group. FN will lose on this pistol unless they become honest.
