      How long did it take for the diarrhea to stop? I am on the 4th dose, going into the 5th week, I pushed the last dose out to 10 days to see if it might help...it didn't!! I'm wondering if there's a way to stop it. I only get it when I eat or drink anything other than water 😑, and sometimes with water if I drink too much water after an hour or 2 after eating something! I tried a tsp of Metamucil to maybe soak up the extra liquid, but then it feels like a fist is moving through my stomach 😭. Maybe I'll try half a tsp. But I'm not sure if it's the food that's causing it or maybe my serving sizes. Anything I eat seems to cause it.

      I'm having the same issue!

    • @HoneeyBee3
      @HoneeyBee3 3 місяці тому +3

      @@JennK-js5ke hello, I have an update. I found certain foods cause it, but it seems the portion sizes causes it also. When I eat smaller frequent meals, my stomach grumbles A LOT still, but I don't have loose bowels afterwards. I think when you overeat, insulin or the medicine overcomensates to try to flush it out, because the medicine is designed to keep you from absorbing too much glucose. So the larger the portion size, the more insulin you need to take care of the food. So it confuses the body and BOOM liquid stools & bile trying to flush it out. So smaller portions help, but it can be hard if you haven't reached the full appetite suppressant effect. So just try to be as mindful as possible. I notice pure carbs make me hungrier and I never really feel full, so I subconsciously overeat! So I have to stick to mostly protein, veg, and a small complex carbs at best. When I do, I get full quick and eat less easier, than if I had any type of ultra processed foods, pure carbs, or desserts as my meal or snacks. Even if I sneak in a small portion.
      When the food is bland I'm fine LOL. But any kind of ultra processed food, too much fat, oils, dairy, pork, beef, more than 1 serving of sauce or dressing it's loose stools, except cereal. For some reason cereal doesn't bother me, but it constipates me real bad, maybe due to the lack of fiber, which sounds good in comparison to loose stools but NO, IT SUCKS and you feel miserable LOL. So it's important to implement smaller portions, and better food choices. The medicine helps with that by controlling the "food noise" and the impulsive urge to eat when hungry, so you can actually make better choices.

    Put on ozempic to stabilize type 2 blood sugars, needed to lose weight too though, lost 4 stone so far, but iv been on ozempic for quite a few months now, it is great to know there's forums like this one out there, so sharing issues should help all who are on the ozempic journey..it's taken a while, but I can no longer eat fried food, spicy food or drink fizzy drinks without feeling nauseous and having chronic diarrhea.too much fresh fruit sets me off too.the unpredictable stomach issues impacts on daily life, there's no getting around it, don't think my stomach is paralyzed though, but yes, alternating between constipation and diarrhea is a nightmare.people tell me i look great after the weight loss, my clothes were hanging off me, am i joyfully ? No not particularly, everyone can see it except me.i try to analyze it, and think I'm scared of being a taken off ozempic and the weight goes back on, have other health issues too. Wasn't sure about ozempic face tbh, as you lose weight your features change, iv decided to start charting what I can eat, and what I cant , learning as I go along.its a whole different outlook on food, it makes you think about what your putting in your mouth, and how much, get it wrong and suffer the consequences.good luck to you all out there.

      Besides keeping hydrated with electrolytes and water, 4oz of George’s aloe over ice 1-2 times a day is helpful to balance diarrhea or constipation but u might want to also add a food high in fiber (psyllium husk fiber is an extreme hit or miss but other fiber types help most people if u don’t want it in food form). There’s those Konjac or some other root noodles that are keto/zero carb that are made of pure fiber that some people love, just make sure you don’t eat more than 1-2 bags/servings cuz too much fiber can cause fecal compaction and lead to surgery or death. I wanna say miracle noodles is a popular brand but the ones sold at Costco have better texture/flavor.

    My first experience with a GLP has been my journey with Mounjaro since mid-September. I seem to have kind of a sensitive GI system when it comes to medications so having GI side effects was not a surprise; however, I worry that I'm not really losing weight because of the medication. I'm concerned that the only weight I'm losing is because of the GI side effects. Right after my shot I tend to deal with constipation. If it is over a day, I take an oral stool softener until movement happens. That is usually followed by brief diarrhea but then I'm find for the rest of the week until the next shot.

    I am taking Wegovy, and constipation is a big problem. However, when it gets to the point when you know it's in the lower bowel, but you just can't get it out, Glyserin suppositories work wonders and only take 15 - 30 minutes to work. I am trying to lose weight so the diet I am on does not allow for a lot of fibre such as bran, etc. Just my experience to pass along.😊😊😊😊

      Having the same problem too I am just hoping it goes away soon it’s only been two weeks since I started the 1mg. Since I started Ozempic little less then a year ago I have lost 27lbs and I didn’t even know it was being used for weight loss I was on it for lowering my A1C which it also did. I just found out when I told my diabetes and life style management doctor that I was at a plateau in my weight loss, I have been trying to lose the weight I gained back during the stay at home mandate for diabetics during Covid, he increased the dosage to the 1mg and said that it could help with the plateau and cravings because they are now using Ozempic for weight loss. I have also been dealing with mental health issues so I thought it was my new meds that was making me crave carbs again and eat more and it may well be but I am taking Wellbutrin (bupropion) along with the new meds Cymbaltra so hopefully if it is the new med they will be off set by the Ozempic and Wellbutrin and I can continue to lose the last 25lbs I want to lose. I have had constipation right from the start but Metamucil helps with that so it’s not a big problem I have also totally changed my eating habits to a much healthier diet which helps with the constipation too but I still need to work on the moving/exercise part. I am hoping this all comes together and works for me mentally and physically.

    My ozempic journey went fine for the first month, but for some reason that last 2 dosage at 0.75mg and my first dosage at 1mg left me stuck in bed for a month severely dehydrated and exhausted. I spent more time asleep in bed during this month then anything.. I had severe diarrhea and nausea and vomiting and gas.. cold sweats and all.. It was beyond miserable. The pain got so severe that I couldn't even cope anymore. I've never really had any bad side effects from medications before ( And I'm on quite a few ) but ozempic just destroyed me. I really hope people have a better experience then me.. I also hope people have really good doctors and check in with them frequently as your starting off so you don't have to go through hell as well if it doesn't work out.. It took me seeing 2 different doctors ( not my normal doctor as I couldn't get booked in with them ) to find out it was the ozempic causing all these issues.. The 2nd doctor I saw also told me something that I didn't know about ozempic.. it works by making you feel sick. I think thats a good way to describe it for people with no medical knowledge. at first i didn't feel sick, I had no issues at all I just didn't feel as hungry. but as the dosages went up .. man that changed for me.

I read this tip from a 1 yr+ user of Ozempic. I have been injecting it into my thigh muscle, on the OUTSIDE OF THE THIGH ONLY!!! Never on the inside of the thigh area. This tip worked for me and I hope the absolute best for you and your health on your Ozempic journey!!

      1 week, usually the symptoms get better after a couple weeks of use. Make sure ur getting enough water and remembering to actually eat small meals instead of nothing (saltine crackers and sprite over ice are a good last option). Put a frozen / extra cold water bottle on the back of your neck. Peppermint oil under ur nose or just smelling it helps with nausea. There’s a ginger honey chew I get off Amazon by mamma and me (come in a small bag of individually foil wrapped square semi soft/hard chews) that work better than regular ginger chews. Staying on a cool dark room…. These are all my last ditch usually successful things for any nausea.

    Ive tried ozempic for three weeks and had severe constipation like no poops without exlax. Have tried all along metamucil and restoralax with no effect. So im off ozempic which is too bad because it was so good for my blood sugars amazing actually. I wonder if i tried trulicity if I would have similar constipation or maybe I should just try it to see if the same thing occurs. Ozempic and trulicity are about 3% of people get constipation. Thanks for your feedback.

I'm just at the beginning of the wegovy use, I only took my first dose this week and I'm afraid that if I have constipation and undigested food, it might cause a problem. I was taking Trulicity for diabetes and it worked well. Had to come off it because of insurance but, the constipation never stopped happening. It's been 4 months and if I don't take magnesium.... it's not coming out. lol. I'm scared of what it did to my stomach seeing that it's not back to normal bowel movements. (They definitely don't mention this fun side effect from discontinuing).
    Do you know of a medical term for this? I have no clue what it's called, and I don't want to go to my doctor and say, 'I have constipation'. I really don't want to have to live off magnesium capsules the rest of my life, just to go to the bathroom. I don't imagine this happens to everyone but, it's something to think about before you start these meds. I fully regret trying it.

I have been extremely bloated every morning when I wake up. I also take prenatal vitamins, I take vitamin C and fish oil. I try to get fiber in me with cereal or bread but not constant. I guess my body needs to get use to it. I’m either constipated or having diarrhea. Rarely in between. Lol

      I'm like you. I'm on 1.7 MG of Wegovy and am not losing weight. I started at a weight loss clinic but am still using Wegovy. I know I should probably quit, but I keep hoping things will start to happen when I am at the max dose of 2.3 MG. Right now, all I get is bloating, constipation, and periodic stomach pain, as well as reflux. I've been on this for 4 months now. If after a month at the max and nothing happens, I'll quit. It does help with a reduction in appetite to some degree. They also say that 15% of people using it have had no effect. It would figure I'm one of them!😂😂😂

They don't have a patent on the GLP-1 base molecule itself but the modifications they made to the molecule in order for it to have its long half-life etc. is all under patent. So if someone is claiming they are selling semaglutide it would be fraudulent/counterfeit.
