Nice work. I'm also having to do most of the work on my Rover with the car on axle stands. Just no room in the garage for the car and a rotisserie frame.
You've done a great job mate looks good, not everything has to be immaculate as long as it's solid and looks the way you are happy with, can't wait for part 2 👍

Had plenty of fast fords back in the day - rust was always the killer of them sadly but your car has done very well all considered mate. Nice to see it getting some love
Well Gary, must say, i've watched most of your videos now. You have done some good work, proper work, on your classic cars, and yes, it is not fun getting molten metal dripping on you.
I had the base Fiesta Mk3, and it had a fuel problem, basic carb' float problem, engine would cut out going around round abouts. I took it back to Ford, they said nothing wrong. So I part exchanged for a Fiat Panda. Far better car. I have never had a Ford since. For me the best Ford was the Mk 2 1.1. Thanks.
Hi Gary. Yes, l very nearly died painting the underside of my TR6 . The overspray was dropping into my particle mask and caught me unaware and in moments it was blocked ! I was aware and very quickly got out and beat a hasty retreat to fresh air. I guess you line out the workshop with plastic sheeting to prevent overspray getting everywhere . I wear spray overalls , gloves etc to prevent getting too sticky ! Thanks Gary.
11:37 ive got a singer car badge on my wall aswell 😂 was my old mans back in the 80s was a grey silver banger rust all over bloody death trap looking back 😂
I can remember welding XR2s when they were 8 to 10 years old it was always the Spanish made cars that were horrendous.the later metallic paint cars alway faired better.
Not sure if this is British or Spanish built, but seemed to have a bit of repair works undertaken previously, but now all removed, so hopefully a lot of years left in it now.
When I first left school, I worked for a big car repair firm, that's when damaged cars were repaired rather than written for a slight dent! Who got all the shit jobs like undersealing and cleaning engines? Yep that was me😬😬

I had a 1.1 pop plus festa when i passed my test on a y reg , that needed welding in the boot .
I love sand blasting .

Still a rigid rear axle on the mk2 XR2 ? Always believed it was modified from the mk1.
