Fiesta xr2 full restoration and respray

- This little fiesta was a big project! It started out in a very poor condition and we knew it needed work but just not as much as it did. So it underwent a full restoration and respray to a show winning condition. I hope you enjoy the video.

Lovely restoration job
Superb restoration, lots of love gone into this - the paint job looks better than factory! It's now on the classic pepperpot alloys too :)

It didn't look too bad on the oustide but on further inspection it did have a fair bit of rot. You did a wonderful job and have kept another XR2 on the road.

Reminded me of my own Mk2 XR2 that I owned in 90's. Exact same colour. I had it bored out to 1640cc with twin 40 DCNF's. Kent cam, etc. It had about 135 BHP at the crank and I got it into Car and Car Conversions magazine (long gone). Now driving about in a 2016 Suzuki Swift Sport for that old skool hot hatch flavour! Ta.

Hi, yes genuine Ford repair panels were used.
Cracking job, I'm looking to find a project XR2 as I had one back in the 80's, spray painter to trade so got the body work sorted out ok, not keen on the Belgium porn music though.

Thats a fantastic job better than factory Spec. I used to love my XR2 had great fun and great memories with it. How much would it cost for this car in the condition it is in?

thank you. These wheels were only on because it had a big brake conversion, he was planning on putting standard brakes and pepper pots back on but it sold before he had chance.
10th time watching this, fancy doing mine???? I have BMW X5 but rather drive my mk2 fez all day long? If that car was mine it would be parked in my front room😉

+John Carroll Thanks, due to the amount of work in this it was well into the thousands.
Where did you get the side stripe from? I had to settle for a Halford stripe which is too red.
Jim Wilkinson The customer had a lot of contacts and managed to get the stripe from someone who had a garage full of xr2 parts.

Shame rear panel was replaced the xr2 spare wheel bubbles not there
Jason Lowley you are right, it was a shame but we or the customer couldn't get hold of a genuine xr2 rear panel.
