Nice but you could turn down background music. It’s tough to hear you at times, where’s your weld thru primer? I’m afraid of rust developing on that bare metal on inside of frame where you slid the two halves together

I agree about the music and apoligize. I watched it through my headphones after editting and it didnt seem as loud. I watched it afterwards and noticed it seemed a bit louder. Ill adjust for my next vid! Thanks for the feedback!
Yes i didnt spray weld through. To be honest, i forgot. I had all my measurements all set and didnt want to pull it apart and ruin my measurements.
Im not going to drive in winter so i highly doubt itll rust. I plan on coating the frame anyhow and can get a spray wand to coat inside of frame rails. An oversight for sure but shouldnt be an issue imo

Ya coat it as well as you can. It’s great to see someone who appreciates the Dodge frame as I do and mimics the weld patterns. Those give more surface area to weld and keep it strong

@@justinmize4316i plan on painting it or POR15 it. POR15 is super durable but eventually turns grey after awhile. Paint is as durable but will forever look nice. Not sure which way to go!
Dodge chassis seems like an awesome bulletproof platform. Hope im right!
Glad you approve of the weld too. My body friend suggested the idea and im like "duh, that makes total sense not sure why I hadnt thought of it!"

Man! I was looking for a video showing someone TIG welding a frame... everyone is "no... can't be done, is not going to be strong, too much rust"... but I can see that is totally possible. I'm just learning and I have a 2004 avalanche that needs some frame repairs.... and I love this truck... so I'm not giving up. thanks for making this video!

You just have to prep your area and you'll be fine with TIG! Good luck!

I'm a new subscriber and I like what you're doing, to bad you didn't have the frame mounted on a rotisserie when welding it back together, but I'm sure it will be just as strong as the factory weld! Good job!

      Hey thanks for subscribing!
A rotisserie would be awesome for welding/body work. However they take up a good chunk of room when not using.
I've never really welded anything vertical or upside down so this was a learning experience for me. Turned out good though!
Keep watching the body is almost finished being mounted. Waiting on some body mounts in the mail to finish filming/editing the next video!

@@barnbuiltbeaters I hear ya, I did see a video not to long ago were a feller built his own rotisserie and it could be disassembled when not in use. But you are getting it done and that's all that counts!

Bout to weld a new top idler arm bolt braket shit suck but I imagine at 150 with a 3 32 ck gold tungsten and a lil filler It should be better than the orignal

That is a nice clean and bright shop. What engine are you putting in the truck?

Thanks for thr compliments and the view! I have a 12V Cummins to throw in there which is why I went with the modern Dodge frame. Motor mounts should be similar, if not identical, to the 2018 Cummins mounts. Trans and Tcase should bolt into the chassis too. Ill have to relocate the Tcase crossmember though.
If you have anymore questions ask away!
