I drive the 2017 encore sport touring and I wont say its the best but it has such a luxurious feel to it that I have to remimd myself who I am and where I come from to keep my head out of the clouds . ..
This is a good example of why GM seems to lag on the global market! "Available" LED lighting? Why can't they simply make it STANDARD equipment, which would drive the costs DOWN? Then make any OTHER lighting an 'option'!!! This is a good car, but GM's nickel and dime mentality makes me want to pass. Good video, Andre! Looking forward to more from you and the gang. No issues with TFL! Cheers!
I had to stop listening to the video because oh....my.....god.... that Buick spokesman was um, you know really um, tongue tied um, it seems, and um, took him um, a long uh, a long um, um, time to uh, get through uh, a sentence.
Is this still going to be built in South Korea? Buick, its never too late to move your production here in the US, you know, the country in which you are based, the country in which youre trying to increase sales, the country in which you were born
+ThinkOutsideTheCube - you're the man! can you think of one other I MISS IT SO MUCH accessory that Buick could at least offer as an option? my g/f and i fight over the 1 in front. it's crazy. someone has schitzo-armrest syndrome at Buick.
It’s nice to see 3 other people that have the same model year Buick Encore, because I also have a 2015 Buick Encore. I like the car though it’s silly that only the driver’s seat (and not the passenger seat) has it’s own armrest. But that’s not my main issue, considering it sometimes takes a few times to get my trunk opened and closed. I’m not so sure if it’s because the trunk opening mechanism wasn’t built well enough or what, but it’s a pain in the neck having to deal with something like that. At least the car beeps every time that happens, because it beeps every time the trunk is opened when the car is turned on.
He won't tell you the MPG but in Europe the opel/Vauxhall Mokka "The creators of this car" in 1.4 petrol 140 HP does 58 MPG and the 1.6 diesel 136 HP does 69+ MPG, but the same motors are not in the US version and thats a shame, so what do you do ? Import and save a lot of money in the long term.
koue89 Not by a huge margin, maybe 1 mile or so per gallon, the figures I mentioned earlier for the 1.6 diesel were tested over 100 km with just 4.1 ltrs of fuel used, which means it will do closer to 75 mpg to a whole gallon, 4.54 ltr.
They are actually sharing the exact same engine. If you buy this car you are buying a luxury trax except luxury to them means vinyl seats and a moonroof.
These features should have been in their previous model. I have the previous model and thank God that I leased this vehicle. The previous model is ridiculously over priced for what it offers.
It's not. These are made in Korea. The Buick envision was designed and engineered in Michigan. Assembled in China. And rumor has it depending on how well it sells here production will move to the USA.
+Jay Cogan Don't be silly(sarcasm) the Buick Encore is made in Bupyeong, South Korea by GM Korea aka Daewoo. Clearly(more sarcasm) the Buick Envision is a midsize suv built in Yantai, Shandong China.
Omg the interior is so much better, the o my thing that keeps me from buying this car now is that ugly seat material patterns and no digital mileage and gas gauge. For the price they are asking there's a lot of cheap crap in this car. Leatherette is code for vinyl which is what the seats are made of........bullsh........
I own a 2015 AWD with premium package...the sticker price was almost 35K......this vehicle is 10K overpriced.....engine is severely under powered ....the transmission is a piece of dog shit with a pronounced thump while driving in slow traffic when you go below or above 20mph....you can get a Mercedes GLA 250 for cheaper than this and it just blows the buick out of the water like 10 times over....its a decent little commuter car but not worth close to what there asking...
A premium car with a base engine without direct injection? Only GM... And anyway, it doesn't look as good as an Audi Q3 and probably won't drive as well. Same goes for the BMW X1.
+Ethan Meister I'm not impressed by 9 more hp, but Encore's are priced locally at $24k vs. $32k and $33k for the Q3 and X1 base prices. You get what you pay for.
+Kamaka Chang Assuming that they keep the same. In that case, they shouldn't lable it as a premium small crossover as they do when he says "... the best selling premium small SUV in the segment." My previous statements can also be applied to the Mazda CX5. A 9 percent horsepower bump is nearly a 6% increase in power (if its increasing from the current power level). For a technology that increases power, torque and fuel economy, I dont see the downside to applying direct injection.
Ethan Meister The Encore is proof that anything SUV sells. I forgot the 9 extra horsepower is the optional "Sport" engine. The 1.5 DI Turbo in the Malibu has 163hp/184tq so Buick is just being cheap.
Kamaka Chang The truth in that first sentence pains me... It is so true... but so sad. And the second part also hits the nail on the head. Other thought. Buick is confusing. I can't decide if they are trying to be a premium brand or not.
matthew von Very true as well. Though at least they don't advertise as premium (I think but I could be totally wrong). Like the 300 was sort of premium. But the 200, Town and Country, and Sebring just weren't.
I love the look of my 2014 Encore Better than this update for 2017. The 13-16's are Beautiful no way can you top that gorgeous design. The new front end for 17 leaves me cold sorry. I wont be buying another one.
If this is the one from China or the one from China you can certainly Buick count me out! I will make my move and just buy the titanium model Ford escape! You start giving China the technology to build cars you are digging your own grave, I can't believe General Motors is that foolish!
+Jay Cogan China buys the most Buicks in the world and the profits come right back to GM. I think GM made the right call for once. But yeah the Escape Titanium is vastly better.
+Kamaka Chang they can build them here and sell them there, if they can afford to. I will never drive a Chinese built car........ Has anyone ever seen the crash test results of Chinese cars in general?
Mine has chost me a lot of money the intake brakes and so far that is three of them at 1000 dollars each thin the air conditioning went our was a thousand and they will not honor a warnety I was left three months with no car yo drive
Chad West Nah, your grandpa has a lot better taste than to buy this thing. He's obviously a man of discernment, you just have to look at his grandson to realize that. ;-)))
I drive the 2017 encore sport touring and I wont say its the best but it has such a luxurious feel to it that I have to remimd myself who I am and where I come from to keep my head out of the clouds . ..
I drive a Buick Encore and I love it!
Mariama Maynard how's the reliability of this? Because I'm planning to finance one and not lease.
The Encore was the only Buick vehicle to increase sales last year, so they're riding the wave.
I love this car
Modern-day Buicks are gorgeous vehicles!
16 looked better
Andre is cool with me. And I like the updates to the Encore. Looks great.
I think it looks great inside and out. I hope they get reliability right so they can build repeat buyers.
not too shabby
Still, why only one arm rest upfront? Why not one for the passenger as well?
I drive 19 Buick Encore perferred n good job for making a wonderful little suv
My mom just traded a 2018 terrain for a 2019 encore. She liked the gmc but the warranty ran out. The buick has a longer warranty so shes happy so far.
The encore is the only Buick Model that has the longer warranty, the other models have the same standard warranty as the terrain!
Cheers!
Looks nice.
Love that Buick removed those Portholes. But why No arm rest for the passenger?
Hey where is the trademark? The holes in the front of the car . I thought that was one of their coolest type. Please bring it back! 😣
looks good
Can golf clubs fit in back?
Cant find any rear cup holders or vents?
Is Encore sellin' good or what??
not bad. the dealer near me has a pretty good lease offer on these
I really (uh) like the (uh) new (uh) headlights with (uh) the (um) LED accents... (uh). 😁
+Justin Kelly He deserves some slack he's just the engineer and it took a lot of work to call Daewoo and get the order right.
+Kamaka Chang Haha
Did they improve the cheap looking LCD screen in the gauge cluster that is straight out of the Spark? Thing is so pixelated its sad.
I had to stop listening to the video because oh....my.....god.... that Buick spokesman was um, you know really um, tongue tied um, it seems, and um, took him um, a long uh, a long um, um, time to uh, get through uh, a sentence.
Um
Um
BrewersPackers and Andres voice is giving me ear cancer!!!
You must truly have a hard time in regular conversation if um bothers you.
I really like my Encore, but the trunk is tooooo small!!!!!!!!
Is this still going to be built in South Korea? Buick, its never too late to move your production here in the US, you know, the country in which you are based, the country in which youre trying to increase sales, the country in which you were born
+Frank mangana
totally agree. but i'd take a south Korean
Buick over the Buick cuv GM is building in China & importing
here.
+Nick Dovie yeah, the envision. Im still butthurt that its being made in china
You pulled of the green screen pretty good!!!
I have a question does the 2017 buick have a cd player ?
Buick encore 2017 have a cd player in it ?
Still no passenger armrest though...
+ThinkOutsideTheCube - you're the man!
can you think of one other I MISS IT SO MUCH accessory that Buick could at least offer as an option?
my g/f and i fight over the 1 in front.
it's crazy.
someone has schitzo-armrest syndrome at Buick.
Got a 2015 and had to buy an aftermarket to make up for Buick's money saving silliness
That's a BFD.
More important than people think.
I just bought a used 2015 Encore. How stupid not to have a passenger armrest.
It’s nice to see 3 other people that have the same model year Buick Encore, because I also have a 2015 Buick Encore. I like the car though it’s silly that only the driver’s seat (and not the passenger seat) has it’s own armrest.

How to remove storage tray on left side of steering wheel
Really, they still have a wire antenna? That alone cheapens the look of it so much...
One day. I’ll own one
the looks are bordering comical
+ChrisPChickennn Hey, come on, man, Andre can't help the way he looks, he Russian, you know.
isnt this the technology and stuff guy?
Test the car!!!
Looks like a rounded off Ford Ecosport. Wonder if it is an AWD....
This guy is uh, so hard, uh, to uh, listen to. He should, uh, learn how to uh, speak in uh, public.
A US gallon is smaller than an imperial gallon, keep that in mind.
koue89 Not by a huge margin, maybe 1 mile or so per gallon, the figures I mentioned earlier for the 1.6 diesel were tested over 100 km with just 4.1 ltrs of fuel used, which means it will do closer to 75 mpg to a whole gallon, 4.54 ltr.
138 horsepower. That's all I need to know 🙁
It's funny because it's the same fundamental design as the Chevy Trax.
They are actually sharing the exact same engine. If you buy this car you are buying a luxury trax except luxury to them means vinyl seats and a moonroof.
Is that fucking car purple?
That's an Opel Mokka with a different grill......
this looks like a giant balled up a suv dropped it and it landed in GMs office.
best selling where...
These features should have been in their previous model. I have the previous model and thank God that I leased this vehicle. The previous model is ridiculously over priced for what it offers.
looks like Chevy Spark.
Please don't tell me this is the one made in China! I've heard that a small Buick will be imported from China by Buick posing as an American vehicle!
+TJC450 the envision was designed in china using an american designed platform.
+Frank Magana I thought it was designed in America. I do know that America had some role in the envision.
+TJC450 yeah, sadly its just the platform. GM Shanghai did everything else
Made in Korea.

Not a fan of this vehicle. It seems too small, and it isn't cheap. And the new engine is still underpowered at only 153 hp.
wow the interior is plastic island
+Zackary Lading Nice feeling plastic.
Vauxhall Mokka

first y'all hey
you actually are congrats.
+kelvin oliver Congratulations !!!! Pity it's a Buick.
+MrKeyboardCommando, Chevrolet Aveo/Sonic platform. Identical twin to Chevrolet Trax and Opel Mokka.
punct albastru They're all GM. It's just badge engineering.
I love the look of my 2014 Encore Better than this update for 2017. The 13-16's are Beautiful no way can you top that gorgeous design. The new front end for 17 leaves me cold sorry. I wont be buying another one.

Jay Cogan Built in korea and in part, spain. Not china.
That was my concern as well. But this is from South Korea and Spain, so I'm ok with it.
Mine has chost me a lot of money the intake brakes and so far that is three of them at 1000 dollars each thin the air conditioning went our was a thousand and they will not honor a warnety I was left three months with no car yo drive
Everytime this guy said "with" I would be a millionaire.

+Chad West Do you mean, if I call him a tosser, this heap of Buick junk will look better ???? Wow, that's amazing !!!
+MrKeyboardCommando well it will look good enough for people to buy it. lol. maybe my grandpa will drive this car.lol
Chad West Nah, your grandpa has a lot better taste than to buy this thing. He's obviously a man of discernment, you just have to look at his grandson to realize that. ;-)))
+MrKeyboardCommando he has vision problems so he wont really see how ugly this suv is lol.
