I just got my first Buick Encore it is used 2019 I really love it n it’s the perfect size for me when I do DoorDash and Grubhub n Postmates The gas mileage is awesome
These modern-day Buicks are truly sharp looking vehicles! And from what I have read and understand, reliability is at the way top in the American cars category! Nice!
My wife just got one, and it drives nicely! It is lightweight, compared to other SUV's, so the 1.4L Turbo suffices for most people. The six speed auto tranny does help a lot. But yes, I do agree that in an ideal setup, this vehicle should have at least 150HP, not the current 134HP.
Sartaj Aujla civic did the same 1.5l 92hp when I first got it. but speeds below 60 it accelerated very well. The Trax is probably best for someone living in the city and wants a small SUV or a rugged Jeep looking vehicle.
It's a nice city runabout; good visibility (the small windows behind the A-pillar is a nice touch), nimble & small to drive, surprisingly torquey from a 1.4 liter, good interior space & available AWD. Lastly the Buick trademark of quietness & compliance is great, given its cheaper roots from the Chevy Trax & Sonic. The only thing I have issue with it the powertrain; yes the 1.4 turbo is good for city commuting but sit 4 adults & luggage and that little motor has to work overtime to merge or pass on freeway speeds (something I noticed on my test drive). If it has 1.6 turbo 160hp from the Malibu it would be a better match to this larger SUV chassis.
Roots ? They are European, Vauxhall/opel, and if you want torque then you want the 1.6 turbo diesel, no problems powering past other cars, loaded or on your own. can you get the diesel over there I don't know but if you can, go with that.
hunter100t North America's EPA takes a dump on diesels whenever it can (coughDieselgatecough). Even Chevy backed out when the new Cruze arrived; the last one had a 2.0 TD, the new one (and all GM cars excluding pickups) are petrol only.
Trades46 That's a shame because the new breed of diesels the emissions are so low that in the uk the 1.6 diesel on this car is zero road duty in the first year and 30 pounds after that. considerably lower than a lot of petrols. 106 ppm.
mgrella63 I own a Encore too and it is actually the first car I’ve ever owned. (I’m in my first year of college as of right now.) And I love the Encore. When my Dad showed me a screenshot of my 2015 Buick Encore, I was impressed on how it looks like and when I had test driven it, I was impressed as well. My other choice next to the Encore was the 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman, and to be honest, the Countryman was missing a lot of features that the Encore has, including Blind Spot Monitoring and a premium speaker sound system, like the Bose Sound System in the Encore. The Countryman didn’t even have a back up camera, like most cars nowadays, like the Encore, do.
My parents have one and they love it. My mother is disabled (only one arm) and she is able to drive and park this vehicle with ease. And it looks nice, too !
My mother loves her Buick Encore. Being older and having some disabilities, she finds the vehicle much easier to enter, leave, and to drive than a large SUV. She sits higher than in a sedan and can see better around her. Having disabilities, she likes the cargo area for not being too large and being a good height for her to manage items she places in, or removes from, that space.
Im actually about to get a 2015 model wasn't expecting such a generous gift from my grandparents I legit though I was gonna have to buy my own vehicle which I was only going to pay 2,500 but then my grandpa offered, just have to pay taxes, insurance and tags.
Not a surprise you cannot tow with this CUV. It is based on the Chevy Sonic and was designed in South Korea - part of the global division called Buick. They added some insulation, upgraded the interior, and called it a day. Not a bad car, but it is not really a true Luxury car - upscale as it is. They do have another engine in it in 2017 that has more horsepower for a slight hit in fuel economy if you want it.
Those C-pillars pissed me off while on a test drive of this rebadged Opel Mokka. I nearly cut off at least 25 people, purely because the foot-thick C-pillars are nearly impossible to see past.
These reviewers make the mistake of putting the Buicks in with the luxury brands. I think Buick is missing out on some sales because of this. Buick is classified as mass market, not luxury. Just because it is more luxurious than a Toyota, doesn't mean it is in a different class. It just means it is better than the Toyota in that regard. It's sure not in the same class as a Lexus. You guys are screwing Buick over.
Could you please not label a video "off road" if you're only gonna run the vehicle on roads that are in better shape than many people's driveways? There isn't a car for sale in America that couldn't go thru those pathetic little campsite loops.
+Matix700 Yea, they were sold under the Saturn brand as Saturn Astra, and when GM went bankrupt Saturn was the first one to go under. So the last model year was like 2009.
Mud testing? Haha, that is just a water puddle with a hard bottom. I do like the Encore/Trax/Mokka/Tracker, and I've been looking for an honest test of the AWD system under slippery conditions, be it ice, snow, or real mud.
I don't know what GM is thinking. Almost no one I know thinks Buicks look good - and I agree. Without real advantages for their competition.... Blah Blah Blah. Interior is getting there, but I feel like I took a valium every time I look at one.
+ShogMan Not sure what your talking about everyone I know thinks the Buick lineup is Gorgeous. I think Buick has made Great strides in shedding the grampa image. I own a Encore and I LOVE IT!
This 2017 Buick Encore (AWD) OR 2017 Subaru Forester???? SOMEONE HELP. I live in a snowy place, and have no kids or anything. My job requires me to be at work rain snow or shine.
coscorrodrift it may be the same car with different badge. Opel and Buick are both GM and we all know how much GM loves to use the same cars with different badges within their branches.

I drove one for 120miles at 75mph as I was told I needed it delivered to someone, the engine is lacking power I will say, always going up to high rpms

yup prius same thing 0-30 is amazing and mid end is not there, same thing with the old corollas. it would benefit from some hybrid batteries.
if it has 134hp of electric power like the chr it would be somewhat better

bro you never see the true capacity of the 1.4L Turbo don't you?

I have two encore neither AWD. I plan to trade them in for a AWD version if they come out with a lift kit for it
Im on my 2nd Buick Encore both Awesome Beautiful vehicles

Iam going to pick up a 2015 premium tomorrow. I been looking for bad reviews and just can not find any. Everybody seem to like this suv.

+bradh716 Aye. Vauxhall in the UK is viewed as a budget brand for sure, with a lot of ground to make up.
bradh716 I know I'm late but I agree with you and when you think of Buick Luxury doesn't come first in mind
Google "Encore vs BMW X1 automobile magazine" as they make the case that the Encore is pretty much a X1 with a $13,000 discount.
trust me from personal experience. turn off traction and stability control and that car be slidin and spinnin out
Travis Johnson lol 😂😂😂😂
The Buick Encore is one size smaller than it's competitors shown in the other videos.
Can you do a review for the 2016 Buick Verano premium?
Yeah the Vauxhall Mokka (huehue) is not really in the same league at all.
Could you please not label a video "off road" if you're only gonna run the vehicle on roads that are in better shape than many people's driveways? There isn't a car for sale in America that couldn't go thru those pathetic little campsite loops.
Why in the hell would any one want to tow a trailer with this compact car?
At 4:40 minutes, you stop right in the middle of a huge water hole. No one in their right mind would do this sort of thing. Why did you do this?
+Okie Rider Did you not hear what he said when he stopped in it? lol
Okie Rider they say getting stuck is the best part about offrhoades
In a Buick? Really?
Isn't it a subcompact look to small for a compact SUV
w..t..f.. so buick is vauxhall/opel so since you have the mokka do you have a corsa? since that what it is, a corsa on bigger suspension
No Corsa is available in US market. They just brought over the Cascada.
contractki11er oh ok, I have seen some astra mk5 look alike in some bike vloggers, do you have them there?
+Matix700 Yea, they were sold under the Saturn brand as Saturn Astra, and when GM went bankrupt Saturn was the first one to go under. So the last model year was like 2009.
contractki11er ahh lol, why cant they just have one brand, cheers for explaining it :D
What exactly _wouldn't_ be able to get through that course though?
Browningate your mama
@Person - _browningate_ is a noun, not a verb.
1970 Impala low-rider? If I had to guess lol
@@Austin.Kilgore Probably.
Well u realize that u can buy a aftermarket towing hitch like on any car Witch is much cheaper than to buy it from factory
An aftermarket hitch won't change the fact that it's a 1.4 liter turbo.
Anything's possible with a welder lulz
Mud testing? Haha, that is just a water puddle with a hard bottom. I do like the Encore/Trax/Mokka/Tracker, and I've been looking for an honest test of the AWD system under slippery conditions, be it ice, snow, or real mud.
Holden Trax? Is this the same?
Yes, it is the same platform as Chevy Trax, Holden Trax, and Cadillac XT4
What about 2014?
I don't know what GM is thinking. Almost no one I know thinks Buicks look good - and I agree. Without real advantages for their competition.... Blah Blah Blah. Interior is getting there, but I feel like I took a valium every time I look at one.
+ShogMan I actually like the current Bucks.
+ShogMan Not sure what your talking about everyone I know thinks the Buick lineup is Gorgeous. I think Buick has made Great strides in shedding the grampa image. I own a Encore and I LOVE IT!
There must be people that like the design as you guys say. I know China thinks very highly of Buick because of it status from years gone by.
Maybe that's the problem shogman, too many valium :}
I like the looks... so much I just bought one. Can't beat the mileage either.
This 2017 Buick Encore (AWD) OR 2017 Subaru Forester???? SOMEONE HELP. I live in a snowy place, and have no kids or anything. My job requires me to be at work rain snow or shine.
Buick.
Forester is way better.
Looks like an Opel Mokka
coscorrodrift it may be the same car with different badge. Opel and Buick are both GM and we all know how much GM loves to use the same cars with different badges within their branches.
coscorrodrift Opel Mokka, Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, Holden Trax, Vauxhall Mokka - all the same car.
dash reminds me of a newer Vauxhall astra
It is a Vauxhall/opel car, in the UK and Europe its called Mokka.
Theres no power at all on these things... They should put a V8 in them lol
Bruh imagine an encore ls swap lmao
@@akscraggy2434 I have a spare 5.4 lol
Realistically would the gm turbo 2.0 liter ltg fit ?
tie actually sounds like #wtrange"slave xd
my miata can do the trail
your video makes me dizzy. get a new camera guy that knows what he is doing
