Hi i'm from Indonesia, i just wanna ask why in the stage mode sometimes we saw the rear lamp or the license plate lamp flickering? is the stage mode also effect the electrical on the car? thanks for advance, cheers!
@HMSGOfficial Well, I think these technical videos are great, for me personally as a former rally driver everything is interesting: the settings of the car, the different approach of the different pilots in the car, the preparation during the whole race week, the tests, the recce, the work of the gravel crew, the physical preparation of pilots and keeping them in shape during the season, diets and food during the race weekend....
Cool! Those are some great ideas, we will see what we can do 😉 So what car did you drive when you raced? We won't judge you if it wasn't a Hyundai...although we might 😂
@HMSGOfficial. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 citroen saxo gr.n/gr.a ,lancer evo gr.n.......these are, but I have tried Hyundai i20 in Bulgaria there was a rally academy with such cars with national homologation🤘🤘🤘🤘
This have to be the best rally video series I have ever seen. So much informations for us, normal people. I’ve been a rally fan for decades, playing all rally simulation and those videos make me feel a little bit like a real driver. Thanks to Hyundai and Mr Paddon for that. A huge thank ! And of course, congratulations to Mr Neuville !!
Nice! Have you seen our documentary from the 2024 season? Gives you a real insight into what goes on in the paddock 👉 ua-cam.com/video/6WzNX64wiWw/v-deo.html
We have a video coming up on the gearbox and transmission in the next few days 👍 Make sure you subscribe and hit the bell to be notified when it drops 😄
@HMSGOfficial Teach my brother how to drive, haha. All jokes aside, I think it's up for Hayden. Whatever knowledge he'd like to transfer unto us, and we'd still be grateful!
Hi! Great video, I think it would be awesome if you went into a little more detail: 1. What does the "Boost" setting change? Is there some kind of electronically adjustable restrictor (or bleed valve) that limits turbo pressure? 2. What does "shifting speed" mean in this context? As I understand, modern rally cars have gear lever going directly into the sequential gearbox, so the shift time is controlled by the driver. Does this setting change the amount of throttle kick (or release) that is done to match the revs to the new gear? 3. What does launch control do here? Is it simply a rev limiter? Since the driver has direct control of the clutch, it probably does not help with that.
Awesome feedback! We have another video coming over the next few days about all of the controls in the car. The launch control takes care of everything, the driver simply releases the clutch to activate it 😁 Plus, if you would like to know more about the turbo (for the boost settings), check out this video 👉 ua-cam.com/video/OE3Dj7adldA/v-deo.html
Hello, I was just wondering, how do you guys go with noise regulations and emissions regs while on the road ? Also what happens if the driver wants a very aggressive setup with their differentials on the stage events, does that mean they have to keep that same aggressive diff setup when on the road? Thanks :)
We have to comply with noise regs, like any road legal car, on the position sections…but the police are quite understanding most of the time 😉 if you want to know all about differentials, check out our Rally 101 on them here 👉 ua-cam.com/video/dhIBnlASF48/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Is there any correlation with selling a minimum number of i20 road going cars to be able to homologate a i20 Rally 2? I remember years ago there used to be to be a minimum number of road going cars that had to be produced or sold to be able for a WRC car to be homologated.
Imagine...that would be so COOL 😎 Yes, the cars will produce about 330bhp next year, compared to around 500 bhp with the hybrid this year, but they will also be about 80kg less, and with less aero, so should be more fun to watch 💪
@ Thanks so much for your reply which is always appreciated. I didn’t think the cars would be down so much on power, I’m looking forward to the new season. Keep the videos coming and all the best to the Hyundai Rally Team for 2025 🙏🏴
Yeah, the hybrid added about 120bhp, and with the smaller Turbo restrictor (35mm instead of 36mm) the standard bhp of the car (It was around 380 bhp) should drop by about 50 bhp, buuuuuut, the cars will move around a lot more, and should be awesome to watch 😉
I should just read the regulations at this point, but I assume Variable Valve timing is also banned. So the Question I have is: How much fuel does Road mode need in stage to stage driving, when the Driver is on time and cruising basically.
@@HMSGOfficial Thx for the detailed answer. We now know what happens with the engine if we run these aggressive internals with less boost, but it would be cool to see if the Engineers tried to run the engine without a restrictor and a different ecu, and how much power they could develop before blowing it up.

Sorry for being pedantic, but there is a typo in the description for this video. It's Hayden Paddon, not Hayden Paddons. Cheers.
Do not apologise! We appreciate you having our back 💪
great video that brings normal people and fans closer to the sport and helps them understand how it all actually works, well done keep it up….
Thank you so much! We are so glad you like it ☺️ Is there any other topic you would like to know more about in a video like this? 💪

I have been loving these Rally 101's. Keep them up!!

Great video, Hyundai N division and Hyundai Motorsports you are the best 😊

@HMSGOfficial I would love to see how the paddock works in WRC, how many people is working during the race 😍

Finally an explanation about this, i've been waiting for quite a long time because i couldn't find the answer at google or anywhere, thanks mate!
Our genuine pleasure! Is there anything you would like us to cover in a video? 😁
@@HMSGOfficial Maybe about how to do the maintenance service for the rally car after the event? that's maybe what other people curious about, Thanks!
Great idea! We will see what we can do, as they pretty much rebuild them inbetween rallies, so we agree, will be an interesting video 💪
Great video! Please can we have content on the F2 Evolution and the Accent, please!!! I caught a glimpse of them as Hayden walked through the factory
Now that is a great shout! We will see if we can do a series on the old cars, thanks for the idea 💡
Thanks Hyundai and Hayden !

@HMSGOfficial transmission shiftcut and auto blip (if there is one) would be great please 😁

Good stuff to promote the sport. Car geometries impacts could be good. And with Hayden crossing the workshop wearing flip flop 😛
That would be the shot of the year! Hayden in “thongs” 😂😂😂 Stay tuned for a video on the geometrical setup soon!

Nicely explained, any chance I could have this on my I30N 😉🏴. Will the 2025 car be down on power , certainly sounds more aggressive 🤔

Yes, VVT is banned! A rough (very rough) estimate is that the cars use around 75L/100km (3mpg) in stage mode vs. 20L/100km (12mpg) in road mode 🤓
