We are looking for SS1 footage from the Rallye Monte-Carlo 1999, if anyone has footage or knows someone who has, please contact us. (joicolomerfont@gmail.com) We have a project to make a special video about it. (We need the original tapes if possible) 😄
Honestly - if there was some online library with old onboards like this or previously uploaded Makinen, I would not wait a minute to pay a subscription to be able to watch these. Thanks for uploading stuff like this ❤️
I would too and Thank God, WRC are not petty like FOM and abuse copyright infringement and strikes. Preventing fans enjoying the sport we love, feeling nostalgic and potentially getting back into WRC if possible.
@@Mike-1000 it is but WRC have explained before alot of safety equipment is in the new rally cars. So they don't do these mounted onboards like this video.
and couple weeks back he was driving a F1 ferrari at Fiorano with his son. What a incredible story so far. And now preparing for Ford reunion for Dakar 2025.
Dude- he is talking so freaking fast. Unbelievable! Rally driving and rap battle at the same time. I guess they are multi tasking on a master skill. 👍🔝
Luis Moya was nicknamed "machine gun" because of how fast he called the pace notes. Also, Carlos Sainz Sr always wanted very precise pace notes. He wanted to know every tiny detail about the road, so Luis had a lot of things to call before every corner. That combination was truly unique. I hope it's exciting to hear for non-Spanish speakers. For us, it is a joy.
Yup, and the fact that Tommi was so calm and didn't take any unnecessary risks compared to Carlos, who was also more aggressive with the driving style.
@@politicoinutil Traditionally in Monte, finns used to have excellent ice scouts, usually older retired finnish rallydrivers like Timo Mäkinen, Rauno Aaltonen etc, and they provided with the best possible info. Also, the knowledge of the winter weather tricks of Scandivanians obviously helps, any shadowy or open windy areas are prone to be frozen, and bridges are always frozen first.
@@politicoinutilAnd most importantly, Tommi had the patience to drive the frozen sections as slowly as necessary and make up for lost time on dry sections. He was a master at that.
@@mikko9849 He learned from previous year's mistake, he was leading the rally and was too greedy on that one part. 1999 overall he was very patient, and early on saw that if he couldn't win, he took what he could get. Weirdly he had lost that edge by 2001, Sweden during that year was the rally that sealed his championship fate.

Much better than today's onboards, this is the best view by far.

@@HandsUpforThePanther Yeah I thought that would be the case, shame though.

El Matador! 👌👌👌
It was somehow funny that when he understeered the first time, there were already 2 cars there 😄
From this video, compared to Makkinen's previous one, one can understand the fundamental importance of the scouts, especially at the Monte Carlo rally

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the upload. Can you please revise the content, cause it's been sped up.
Looks like they had a lot of fun that day 😅
Spanish is already not the slowest language.... but reading the pace notes on spanish 😅😅😅😅😅 that's really something
"queda mucho rally todavía, eh!"
Why Carlos left the stage with the helicopter and Luis stayed stranded in the stage ?
Va durar poquet 😢
And It was all yelloooooww
Rac rally 1991 and 1992 🙏🙏🙏
Do you have full onboards of Safari Rally from the same era ?
48k's?!?!? 😮 if you drive that much in Monte youll probably end up in Italy or France by the time you get to the end😂
Cómo se iba de morro ese Corolla
the video look s like a Little bit speed up
Mejor que su hijo en todo.
Dos mundiales y cuatro Dakar. El hijo no es nadie, pero es famoso porque toda la gente ve F1
Carlos Sainz would switch to Ford the following season.
