When this music came out, most of those who would have listened to it wouldn't have had a screen to watch anything on anyway, so videos would have been irrelevant. This music was made for the ears, and the mind.
All music is made for the ears and the mind, else it's audio for video or a film score. React channels should react to the song only. Video is a completely different piece of art and often less impressive than the song. Great comment.
One of my all time favourites, so heavy, bluesy ❤. I remember they were told they would ‘go down like a led balloon’ , hence the evolution of their name Led Zeppelin- of course, the opposite happened and they rose stratospherically!
Yes that's a harmonica. Robert was a phenomenal harmonica player as well as singer. The Lemon Song and You Shook Me ..........2 great songs that don't get so much attention
Another fabulous LZ number. The groove!!! and Bonzo on drums!!! Much of LZ's music has roots in American blues. especially because Page and Plant who were "students" of the Delta and Chicago blues in their teens. The blues connection for this song is the 1929 recording by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy about the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. Here's a link to that if you're interested in the origin ua-cam.com/video/swhEa8vuP6U/v-deo.html Thanks for the reaction!! ☮
Thanks Pope. It was a harmonica played by Robert Plant, the singer. Here's some history: Another word for blimp is zeppelin. Led Zeppelin's name came from a joke before a concert by some other musicians predicting Zep's performance will fly like a lead (the heavy metal) blimp. Meaning they looked like they would fly but were predicted to take a dive like the Hindenburg.
Since enjoying going down the rabbit hole with Zeppelin. Zed Zeppelin was Honored at the Kennedy Center. President Obama was there. Heart, a female group you should listen to, they sing Stairway to Heaven. All the boys were there to be honored except the Drummer who has past, but his son is the drummer in tribute. Brought tears to the boys. What a performance, standing only!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best cover of Stairway to Heaven. Enjoy your channel, enjoy your journey to music I have listened to for 67 years. From the first note , you know what band it is! Wish I was 16 again. Definitely. The blues. To think that I was only 9 or 10 years younger than Plant. I loved him. That is what they took for the band name when some musicians said If they were a band, they'd probably sink like a Lead Zeppelin !
Yep as the late great Keith Moon once was quoted about the band would go down like a lead balloon. Jimmy Page remembered what he said and named it Led Zeppelin. 🔥
I thought it was Eric Clapton, his former Yardbirds mate, who said that... That it would go down like a Lead Zeppelin... and they dropped the "A" 'cause they thought Americans would pronounce it LEED Zeppelin.
Pope, listen to that drums, that harmonica, that guitar riff, that voice, that bass, LOL is Led Zeppelin once again, the greatest ones ... they have a great collection of tremendous songs. Loving your reactions.
The drum intro was sampled by Beastie Boys and many others , in fact Led Zeppelin are the most sampled by hip hop artists , the Song tho Is an old blues , that Zeppelin spiced with a bit of so much more , extraordinary musicians

in my top 5 favorite bands of all time! must watch live shows!!! a levee holds water back to prevent flooding so for example during hurricane Katrina the levee/s broke and New Orleans was severely flooded
The song refers to the great Mississippi flood of 1927, which forced many poor farmers to move north, "going to Chicago". It was effectively the birth of the urban Blues. Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy recorded the original song in 1929.

So much greatness yet to be discovered…1960-1986…Then, the music died. Lost it’s soul and passion to the electronic age, creating lazy, so called Artist.
A blimp is a *non-rigid* airship, i.e. a simple powered balloon with a gondola suspended from it; a Zeppelin is a *rigid* airship, a long streamlined frame containing several gasbags and internal bombs or passenger accommodation. Incidentally, the Hindenburg did not *explode*; static electricity produced a spark which ignited the highly inflammable cellulose dope. As the fire spread through the fabric covering and fuel tanks, the gasbags ruptured, allowing the hydrogen to escape upwards and burn with an invisible flame hundreds of feet above the ship. The visible fire was from burning fabric, fuel and furnishings.
I agree a very distasteful video.this video in no way was released by Led Zeppelin. Some clown edited this video together with clips that were not even from tis song
Hydrogen is Flammable, not a safe idea, but Keith Moon probably never got to fly on the Led Zeppelin Learjet Either. Keith beat everyone to the disrespectful statement.
