Whenever i start watching any of your videos I get this intense urge to grab my camera and run outside and film cinematic clips. Massive problem when its 2am and I'm in bed
abstractions 😂
haha that's a problem
Just about to say the exact same thing
Do a cinematic if your bedroom. Duh!
abstractions haha same
Absolute legend for being in a 5' x 5' section of forest and making something interesting. How glorious is that hair tho lol
Glorious it is ;) cheers man
Wow, that push-in shot!!!
In my eyes that totally blows my mind! Especially because that was 'just a patch in the forest'.
I learned alot from Thomas Alex! one of my favourite youtuber! amazing guy, humble and very talented! 👍👍👍
Dude. I love your videos. It is really amazing how you can turn a small patch of nothing into a BRoll sequence. Keep up the great videos.
You keep my passion alive Thomas. You inspire me to go out right now and film something. Thank you for the video. Keep it coming!
This tells you that those amazing looking videos are not because of the actual scenes or gear. It’s that WHO videos it and how to edit it. Please keep uploading. 👍
Loved the video. I appreciate your attention to detail. You don't need a grand landscape to capture the inherent beauty of nature. Thanks :)
Great idea. You inspired me Thomas!!!
Thank you for the tips - I'm glad I stumbled on your channel. I will be trying to use these techniques this summer on Pike's Peak - I will be using a gopro 8, but hope to make a video to share with friends.
Man I always learn so much and get so many brilliant ideas from you. Your attention to detail is what makes you the best
Thanks Thomas! I will practice! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I like your video and start filming, posting to UA-cam.
I learned a lot from you. Thank you very much!
It's so good to see you Thomas again!! I have missed your content

Hey Thomas.. on point, as aways! Keep bringing the content. Learning all the tips and tricks. Much respect. 👍
always a great inspiration. i owe you almost 2/3 of my knowledge to filmaking norman. thank you so much!
Great video! Can you please make more of these, such a good source of inspiration 😊
Thanks for helping jumpstart my video making hobby and taking it to the next step. Looking forward to more content from you.
Thank you for teaching us so much Thomas. You are a true inspiration.
I love these types of videos where you aren't just telling people you can do this and that you give reason behind it helping people understand why you do what you do and the effect it has! great job mate keep it up
This is an amazing idea to try and force yourself to be more creative! I’m gonna definitely start trying this out and practicing my b-roll edits!
I do this all the time. I have massive B-Rolls, but I get to lazy to edit them. lol
Stephane Gregory Dan I need to try it just to work on my broll cause I haven’t done very much😂
@@dilloncallaway3621 I was thinking you'd be telling me: yeah with me it's the other way around, just ediing but no B-Roll. lol. Yeah man. Keep at it. It is actually very easy. If you would like to take a look at my music undone contest video, it was the first time I ever tried any kind of B - Roll with camera movement. It is acutally pretty easy. I would recommend and this is the hardest part before you move your camer to get your framing and composition right, then move the camera. Composition is the most important thing. Visually.
These videos have been so helpful for someone like me who is just starting out. You don't over complicate the process. I just posted my first b-roll. The next one will definitely include some of your tips.
Much respect!
Thinking in terms of micronarratives is what I needed to hear and see. This helps to create anywhere. Thanks.
He's BaCK!!! Great video again!
Cheers mate
I love your videos and you are very talented, love and peace from Afghanistan!

I really inspired by your work. Thank you so much ❤👏👌🔥
Hey man, nice to see a new video! This is a great idea; helping to push yourself to find interesting shots in a small area will definitely help you be more creative when you're traveling and have epic things to film. I'll be incorporating this into my travel video work for sure! Thanks for sharing man!
nice man :)
Pure inspiration ❤️

OMG!!! That hair! 🔥🔥🔥
WOAH HES GROWN HIS HAIR!!! Btw this is the video that I really needed to see... it’s all starting to make sense now
This stuff is soo educative ✨
When I was in California making videos for hostels in exchange of hosting I always try capture good b-roll from the city. My equipment was just a compact camera and I also try shoot on golden hour trying to use this beautiful light as much as possible.
Oh man... long time didn't watch your video and now i'm back to your video. But your hair already messy like Simba. Hahahaa...
Excellent tips and trick, dude... hope you always inspiring me to making a great video. Hope you will come back to Indonesia again and exploring Indonesia again.
one day I'm sure mate
What about the green mossy stuff in the middle of the forest floor that we’re standing on. Tried this today but I’m not in the same frame. Well done Thomas.
Just got notification, opened the video and directly pushed the like button! Love your video! And waiting for each one 👌♥️
Great video!! Thank you!
Thanks!!! Now we have to put it in practice
I love your all videos
seriously how do you even think like that... i spent hours and hours in park and could only make a minute worth of footage.
kudos man you are exceptional¡
Thanks Thomas, impressive as usual. However I am wondering if doing such much detail break down of a single scene, is that too long? Since much of the conversations or critiques on the Facebook group (which I no longer have access to) has been about cutting down on the length and shots.
always so nice to see you filming! cant wait to get back to your workshop and tree planting with each transaction! Last year, for a small 2 month no marketing fee test run, I was able to plant 500 trees using your business model =D this year, I am scaling it to 10000 trees =D
amazing!
i followed your tips, and i created one TY
Thanks man really helpful Video
Thank you Thomas 😊🙏
Good person with best skills.. 👏👏👏
Very interesting hope to make mine better
The video i needed
Good content dude!ive learnt a lot from you.thanks✨
Always great content mate. Are you focusing manually?
You should take some shots for us like this and do an editing contest.
What about the opposite.. people send him shots and he edits them..
As expected from you idol... Rock that shot 🤟🤟
Thank you so much.
You’ve lost a lot of weight and thank you for another round of ur wisdom.
going on a diet of 100% donuts this year hope it helps
Donut do that
Great educating stuff bro 👍
Nice video full of good information.
Alex, I’m always looking forward to your videos. Great examples! This is one of the few on UA-cam that is really worth a look for those who are learning to shoot. How long did the filming, movie and processing take together?
Thank you for the video. I’ll try to make the same effect of the camera’s movement with the help of only my own hands :-) It always seemed to me that this requires special equipment
handheld is often best!
Thank you God bless
Great video mate. What software do you use for the editing?
Btw, what camera you use in this shots? Really superb
always like your content man... i just did this kind of shot on my channel.. and really looks great..
Can you tell me here, what camera is that you're using?
It is a Sony RX100 Mk 5. (I think!). Maybe Thomas can respond. I know that the Mk 6 and 7 are not so good in low light, but they have a better zoom range. The optimal model is the Sony RX100 VA if you don't require zoom range.
@@Viajedelavida can i do the same thing with a lumix tz100 or tz90
Hello bro, I loved your videos as they are so informative. I am a photographer not professional but it is my hobby. But I am very new to videography. I will go on vacation with my family to hill stations. I have canon ESO 200D mark ii with the kit lens, 50 mm 1.8 prime and 10-18 mm 4-5.6 canon lenses. So can you give some basic advice on how to start shooting my video, so that I can at least make an enjoyable travel video? One more thing I am on a tight budget so I cannot afford gimbal, all will be handheld. It will be very helpful if you can give me shooting motions like pan shot, left to right, focus change etc. like how to start and and to end.
Nicely done bro...😎😎😎
👌🏻 wow
