I started doing this, for the moment I don't want to become a youtuber but eventually I want to become a great communicator, a leader in my job, and be able to be more entertaining and explain the things I'm interested about without derailing offtopic, or feeling nervous. Thank you so much for your videos

    - [0:47] 🧠 **Mindset Tip**: Talking to the camera in public is a process, not an instant confidence boost. It's about gradually shifting your comfort zone scale.
    - [2:31] 🧠 **Mindset Tip**: Identify what specifically makes you nervous about talking on camera in public. Realize that people's judgment is fleeting, and most don't really care.
    - [5:54] 🎬 **Practical Tip**: Maintain focus by keeping eye contact with the camera, blocking out distractions, and staying engaged with your message.
    - [8:01] 🎬 **Practical Tip**: Practice freestyling your speech to overcome the fear of freezing up when speaking on camera in public.
    - [9:16] 🧠 **General Tip**: Learn to recognize and manage your own state of mind. Your confidence levels can vary based on your current social or mental state.

Thanks for the tips! Very helpful.
I’m not scared of judgment, more so scared of becoming a target. Living in a major city where the camera and lenses I saved up forever to get to pursue my dreams could just be snatched away and the likelihood of a positive repercussion is super low terrifies me.

So good man. Nice to see you back on this space. I think this type of material is so needed. Everyone talks about how to get a better shot or how to make your video better. Not many talk about the odd or awkward part of filmmaking like talking to camera in public. It is not easy even if you are someone that is super outgoing! Well done my man!!!

Thanks for the tips! The exposure thing has been huge for me. When we first started our channel, I would either film at home, not talk, or look for a private spot. Then I started committing to filming around people, starting with less crowded areas. Now I can film around more people, and even though it's still a bit uncomfortable, I'm getting better at it, and it's definitely helping with our content!

I am so happy and delighted to find this video as talking to the camera is not easy at all, I always wonder how confident people are who can keep on talking to the camera in crowed places and make it seem so natural... I have noticed few vloggers who does this as if they are invisible to everyone. Thank you so much Thomas for sharing all the tips and tricks and hope that soon I will gain the confidence and talk to camera in Public. I have been making UA-cam videos from some time and have been doing voice over in every video and its all because I lack this skill, I will try following your steps and hope someday will gain the confidence and be able to talk freely to the camera in public....

Excellent Video, thanks for sharing. So far my travel videos have been mostly video with music and I’m getting very little response so need to start the vlog style. Talking in front of the camera scares the hell out of me but with your tips hopefully I can push through.

So true. It is exposure therapy that eases the fear. I’m so excited to get footage now, I don’t care who is staring. I like to do a quick intro than flip the camera off of me and comment from behind the camera.

Thanks a lot for sharing! Really useful and practical tips! 😆
I really agree with the tip of freestyle. I always think what I say sounds so stupid when I am filming myself in public. But when it comes to editing, there is always something I say actually makes sense, then I just feel it's so lucky that I have said it.
So my advice is also just say as much as you can, don't care the quality too much at the beginning. Because the more you say, the more useful things you will probably have.😊

Interesting video and topic, thanks. Saved, just in case I need to do this sometime.
You know, I'm not sure the judgement of others (2:45) is what would bother me so much as my judgement of myself. It would feel awefully vain and narcissistic to be pointing a camera at myself and blabbing away.
I'd have to really, really care about whatever I'd be talking about to do this-and it'd have to be the only way to get it done-because in general I feel my cameras ought to be pointing outward at the world and not inward at my own vanity.

😀 I knew you would come back to this kind of video even after having 1000 thoughts going in all possible directions. Last time, I wrote a few paragraphs in the comments but deleted them before posting... lol
In short... Don't stop anything you have started and are successful at, keep doing it. As time goes by, you yourself will find a way to manage it well. It's like you are walking in one direction and something happens, you change the direction, later something else happens on the new path, you again change the direction. This way you will never reach the goal. It's better to stay on the selected path and keep going no matter what ! Also, once the goal is set and you start walking, forget about the goal. Since you are on the selected path, you will reach there sooner or later. Maybe something wonderful may happen before reaching the goal or you'll achieve it much earlier. Just dun get drifted in all directions, you can do many things successfully at the same time, just don't stop anything you've started. ✨

Good to see you doing this again even if just briefly. Very inspirational! I went through the stages you have mentioned and can say, everyone can do it! The one I sometimes kind of still strugle with is when I’m say in a restaurant and people in front of me just keep staring longer than usual. What I do then is stop, perhaps smile with them or say hi. Then either they ask me something or THEY start feeling weird themselves😂for staring.

I went through a really tough couple of months where I just couldn't be near anyone when filming, even though I'd been filming in public for about 9 months already, it was weird but at the time I was getting recognised in local shops etc and people would stop me to say hi and it freaked me out lol I'm just a bloke from York making videos why are you saying Hi to me??. I now have the mindset of these people are my audience and I stop and chat and get on with filming afterwards. It can be frustrating sometimes but without viewers I don't have a channel so a quick hello is worth it to me.
