I never quite saw John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen, but man he is the PERFECT Jay Garrick. He just radiates that Golden Age, square-jawed, Boy Scout heroism. Always a joy to see him in the helmet.
I disagree he was the classic Barry Allen from the 60s' so his show in 1990 or whenever just fit. Remember Grants version isn't how Flash was always portrayed
The ending of Stargirl with Jay and the Shade makes me remember how the last season of Stargirl despite being cancelled was way better than last season of flash. Unlike idiot Eric Wallace, Geoff Johns respected all characters and ensured to do his best to end Stargirl as satisfyingly as possible.
@@shinyanakagawa8241 That's not what this is about. Todd helbing is the showrunner of S&L which is CW's best DC show but Todd didn't create Clark and Lois' characters. It's about handling the characters, the writing and everything well which that show and Stargirl did, even Arrow did in its final season, but not flash.
@@parthrikhi6592 yeah, you are talking about Star Girl and Geoff Johns and him giving the show and some of JSA characters he created a good send off. I am just agreeing with you here. Johns is a better writer than Wallace, I love his JSA comics, it sucks that we are never getting any Power Girl and Liberty Bell action on screen .
And Flash's own ending wasn't satisfying? Are you sure you're not just butthurt about the Ls the speedsters villains took rather than the whole episode and the ending itself? Barry and Iris became finally parents and welcomed Nora to the world. We didn't see her get erased from existence nor Bart either. Khione stick to her guns and left the team, restoring along the way Caitlin who they all thought was dead but in the end she got reunited and made up with Barry after how things were left of in Season 8. They threw a party for baby Nora, Joe got his own happy ending by announcing his marriage with Cecile and finally Barry put a cool spin on the whole dumb "he becomes the lightning that struck him in the pilot" theory by actually throwing one to choose the new line up of Flash Family members with actual characters from the comics as he continues running like a guardian angel. You consider all that a disappointing ending? Be serious. Even Eddie's was good because it changed the whole status quo of the dynamic between the Speed Force and the Negative counterpart by making them reach a truce. Instead of killing him again, a new door was opened for him as he handles his mixed feelings for Barry while at the same time not giving into that hatred nor allowing anything to manipulate him. That was bad? Hell you're in a Jay Garrick related video and not even him was done dirty in the finale, he owned Cobalt Blue like a boss. So again, I wonder, how exactly was this a bad ending unless you were rooting for the evil speedsters? Be real.
@@rosariomariadelpilarbenavidesm The concept itself is good but the execution was bad and the result we got from it was pile of hot garbage. The only good things came out from the last season were the art where Barry completing the rebirth of The Flash cycle and the epilogue scene.
Barry Allen 90 represented his muscularity, Henry Allen represented as a father of the hero, Jay Garrick represented as a mentor speedster. Fun fact: Barry 90 is more similar to Wally west in the comics. They liked Tina McGee in the comics and the 90 show
Savatar never killed Jay cause he's the ONLY one who didn't shun savatar. I still find it very unbelievable though that everyone treated Barry 2 like crap.
Yeah, I never understood that. Maybe it wasn't much of a shun but more of it being awkward for 2 Barry's to be there. I would have loved to see that play out. Do an episode just on Savitar and how everything went down
I've seen the logic of "they wanted to care about him the same as normal Barry, but considering he was a clone with a scar it just started to be awkward, and they started to default to non remnant Barry." Although honestly, I'd put good odds that society as a whole was significantly worse to Savitar Barry, and then he just kinda projected that hurt onto the loved ones who were slowly seeming less and less interested with dealing with him. Essentially, they screwed up in a minor way, society screwed him up worse, and he took it out on them since they were the ones who were supposed to be there for him.
@@jeannguyen3199 idk it could be he didn’t show up in S6 post crisis and S7 until episode 17 maybe during that period of time he would’ve gotten his speed back via ASF or smth
So the Jay that appeared on Stargirl is the same Jay from Flash? How does that work given that we only just learnt that the multiverse was a thing again and breaches don't work the same anymore
I didn't watch Stargirl and I only know about it from clips, so some of this could be proven wrong. It's my own headcanon that when Jay was living a double life fighting Nazis in WW2, he was actually on Earth-2 helping out the JSA. He would have stopped living that double life after he left the JSA during the Eclipso vote or whatever.
That mostly tracks, but in the beginning of Season 3, it's said in the final showdown between the OG JSA and ISA, Shade killed Jay Garrick. Weirdly, his helmet was found at the scene, but covered in frost, indicating he was killed by Icicle. Obviously, he's not dead here, but he would've had to have been on this earth for the fight. It's more of a question in how they contacted him. Although, with Doctor Fate and Johnny Thunder, anything's possible.
Notice how the cinematography looks realistic in later seasons everything has this bright ass filter over it which makes the show look fake and like a cartoon
