- This episode shows how to replace the canister purge valve (or canister vent valve) on a 2017 Toyota Highlander V6. This is a 15 minute repair that only requires a screwdriver and pliers!
Note: If you do not have an OBDII scanner to clear the engine codes, they should go away on their own after about 1-2 tanks of gas. Don't panic if they don't disappear immediately.

So what can I do.
MY MAN!!!! I was stressing my balls out for over a week trying to find out the root cause, changed/cleaned MAF sensor, cleaned IAC valve 3 times, changed air filter, reset battery countless times and so on .. even my mechanic said he couldn't find any issue cleared code sent me home and my engine light came back in on my way home. this was it!!! AutoZone charges $170 for the part now a days though but it saved me hundreds for sure, nonetheless the nightmares of that yellow check engine light!!! THANK YOU!!!!
I think you should stop going to your mechanic. Go to different shop instead because this is one of the most easiest diagnostic. He could have done smoke test, use scanner to run evap base test, etc. But He chose to clear the code and sent you home.

My awd check lights come up on my 2018 Highlander I got the same code when I scanned it at auto zone,but on my way to the mechanic it just disappeared and two weeks later it come back up and do the same thing disappeared

Thank you! This was driving me crazy, looking all over for the vacuum leak that I was positive was there, but I just couldn't find. FYI for anyone else this needing this fix, most of the parts shops will have some kind of promo code for some money off. I got 15% using store pickup. I won't name the shop to avoid looking like a shill, but it's one of the nation wide ones.

Hi I have 2017 Toyota Highlander Xle, problem is I was driving on the highway and suddenly the check engine light came on saying engine power reduced, visit your dealer, the motor start shaking and the car moving really slow. Should I take it to the dealer or something else ??

Will this work on a 2016 Lexus RX 350? I have the AWD malfunction switching to 2WD etc.
Pretty sure it's the same platform underneath. If you have the same CEL, this is probably it. If there's no CEL or other symptoms then I'd look elsewhere.

@@2008guelo - I did. I found out the connector to my negative battery terminal was corroded & was causing connectivity/electrical issues. I went to the dealer got the OEM part for around $45, replaced it, and it works perfect now. You can get the same type of part at Advanced Auto or auto zone but I didn’t want to take a chance.
Its happened to me the same issue for my 2017 highlander ..i just removed the negative connection to my battery and its work..
This is a temporary reset of the warning lights. We tried this 3 times before changing the part, and each time the light came back on within a month. Haven't had a single problem since the repair!

Waiting a few days is probably fine. It'll become more of a problem the longer you wait.
@@EnzyteBob117 you know what’s crazy my check engine turned off I don’t know if it turned on because of the cold bevause I’m in New York & it’s freezing now but the thing is I have rudolf nose on my Toyota emblem & when it rained the sensors turned on because it was electrical I don’t know if it was bevause of that but I was driving today & it was on & all of a sudden it turned off

This is exactly what happened to me over the past two months.
Dealer thought i got a bad of bad gas.
Light went off for about a month.
Yesterday, at quarter tank of gas the check engine light and awd warning came on again.
I will get codes run and replace part as you said.

How long will it take for the error to go away after replacing the part
Easiest way is to reset the light with an OBD2 scanner or by disconnecting the battery. Otherwise, it's entirely dependent on how much you drive and can take up to a few weeks.

Don't listen to that man get a cheap OBD 2 tool connect it to your phone there is an option called live in the tool go live and have some one drive the car for you it will show you how your car sensors are running if there is an problem with one of those it will show it I found out it's not that part after I bought the one that he's taking about it's an o2 sensor 😂 that man is constipated !!!
O2 sensor has ENTIRELY different symptoms with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT engine code. You fucked up big time if you were confused between the two my dude. 30k+ people will tell you that what I said works because I'm not wrong on this one 😂

Agree that people should do their due diligence, but this vid explicitly lists engine codes and symptoms then gives a very specific solution to that one specific problem. I'm gonna disagree with you about being misleading here, but wish you the best my man
