    2007 V6 models will NOT die or break. In fact, I hear Toyota is going to issue a recall due to the fact it’s time you get a new car dammit.

      Yes, I bought mine new & only have 102,000 miles on it. I did have to replace the alternator & decided to replace the belts at the same time 3 years ago.
      One think is if you start it right away it will squeal which is annoying. Turn the key on but only once & let the seatbelt chime play. Then start it up & it won't squeal. Something the do with the computer & the new alternator not communicating quick enough. My teen grandson found that out for me in UA-cam. He even set up the phone, Radio, etc when I bought my new 2019 Camry.As we were riding I asked him how the Cruise Control works & he said he didn't know because he was only 14. Lol

    I owned a 2003 until 2020 when it needed new shocks front and rear a timing belt with water pump. Got a RAV4 in 2016 which is another winner. Sold the Highlander to guy who could do his own work at 265k miles. Best part of the Highlander was the ride and having ZERO rust.

    Last year ,I got a 05 Highlander 3.3 V6 model with 90K+ mileage as my daily driving vehicle, very smooth driving experience on highway, powerful V6 engine give it a good acceleration. I just finished my Maine road trip with this "old friend" and I drove it for over 2000 miles during this trip, everything in this vehicle was still very soil feeling, even I did 50 miles off-road. I sprayed rustproof paint and wax on all the chassis parts and wish it will stay with me in the next few years.

      @@randycausey5269just change the oil every 3k miles and transmission fluid every 60/100k but if your fluid has never been changed better to leave it otherwise you might destroy it.

      Thats pretty impressive! I recently bought a 2002 with the 1MZ-FE with 180k on it. The motor makes a ticking sound, still trying to figure out if its an exhaust leak or if it needs lash adjustment in the valvetrain... you ever run into any issues like that on yours? Also curious, what brand oil do you use?

    It is a great vehicle! My '03 V-6 4WD has 48 k mi. Garaged. Just did the 100k service. Bumper to bumper. Expensive, but worth it!

      Why expensive? To fix?

    • @ryanslings6234
      @ryanslings6234 6 місяців тому

      Yes, expensive to fix, at least if you're getting OEM parts and having a certified Toyota tech do the work. That legendary Toyota reliability comes at a higher cost, parts are outrageous and labor is getting more expensive especially since pandemic. It's worth every penny, but be prepared to spend more money than you want to. @@FlawedmanServingajustGod

      @@ericrichards9471 No problems with valve adjustment. Only corrective maintenance I've done myself recently was replace the two knock sensors and the MAF sensor.
      I've used different brands of 5W-30 as long as they meet the spec in the manual. Kirkland, Mobil 1, Toyota. Biggest thing is I replace the oil every 5000 mi. OR 6 mos. I attribute the great reliability to that one thing.

    I own a Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2006 with under 185K miles. Besides normal maintenance (batteries, brake pads, tires, water pump & timing belt, etc.) since I've owned the vehicle I've had 2 new radiators installed, entire radiator fan assembly replacement, all 4 window regulators & motors replaced, climate control system assembly replaced, interior blower motor replaced, both headlight assemblies replaced, radio/CD player replacement, crack in intake manifold that was replaced, rear /right side tail/brake/backup LED light assembly replaced, 3rd brake light assembly replaced and 2 new brake actuators unique to the hybrid version replaced at $3,400 each that killed all gas savings due to being hybrid & much more. No, the vehicle has never been in an accident.

    I'm currently driving a 01 Toyota Highlander to work. Its had the Struts, Rotors, Break pads, CAT, Drive Belt, EVAP, Fuel Injectors, new Tran Fluid. & 5 new Destination Firestone Tires. I provided it with the Coil On plug, Spark Plugs, PCV Valve, Valve Cover Gasket, air Filter, Cabin Air Filter, & i change the oil a good 4,000ish miles because it STILL burns oil. However the car is at 294,××× & counting.
    I drive a good 45 miles a day to work and back. I work 5 days out of the week. Thats already 225 miles added every week. Multiply that by 4 weeks or 1 month & its 900 miles. But also a trip to the gas station is a good 5-7 miles depending where i go. Thats another either 20-28 extra miles added from the 900 miles already.
    So within 4 months , i drive a good 4000ish miles & i change the oil myself.
    Currently using Castrol Ultra clean. But right after that I'm all in on Pennzoil Platinium High Milage.

      You probably bought the car that already had the sludge problem in it from the previous owner not changing the oil enough

    • @T3l3MuNd0
      @T3l3MuNd0 7 місяців тому +3

      @guruofendtimes819 I have the 4 cylinder one so it has a Timing Chain.
      Also, we're the original owners of the car. That engine is known for oil burners because of the Piston rings. Like I said, it still burns oil, but it sounds new & feels new still. Now it's at 299,××× miles so it's almost going to the 300K mark.

    Hello so I just bought a 2001 Toyota Highlander limited a week ago had to take it to a mechanic to get some work done on it.. I’d have to look in my receipt to tell you everything done.. any who I noticed it’s making a sound almost like a station wagon I guess. What is that sound? Except for the VSC light on, I believe everything else major was fixed.
