I got a mavic 3 and I don't get no where near as much range as some v😮😮edeos of people online...what can I do to improve this? I've seen .videos of people doing 8 k meters
This is a long shot as your video is a year old. Which version of the fly app were you using there? I'm keen to roll back to a version where the AE lock is visible.
I also liked seeing the ae lock on screen. I'm not one for the long press short press thing.. lol. I'm not sure what version I was on but it was early.. lol as you said it's a year old.. Mikey

Good one !! Two thumbs up.. I'm a ham radio operator have been since 1975. You did a fantastic and very simple to understand explanation of multiband frequency hopping. The technical aspect is why I just purchased a Mavic Mini in the fly more combo. The Air 2 will be next. Good to see someone that really gets that side of flying these things... It's not just a camera ! KY enjoys your vids, but man you can have that city.. Been there done that in NYC traveling for the telecommunications industry . Was raised in the country and that's where all my video will be shot. I can imagine having a DJI in NYC though.. That would have been fun !
I live in a very wooded area in Mississippi and once I get around 1000 feet in front of me my signal drops down to about two bars and the fee that I start getting back gets jerky so I’ll turn around and come back and sometimes it’s very disappointing because I watch all these other videos people go in 2 miles 4 miles
Trees will do that to you Paul. Try going higher if possible and make sure to point your controller at the drone height is your friend. Especially with trees. Try going to an open area you will get a totally different experience. How that helps bud! 🤟🤟🤟💙💙💙 Mikey

Hi , I have a mavic mini 2 and I don't have the option dual band basically I don't have the option frequency, only option I have is manual or auto thanks
A few things: 1. The original Mavic Pro has Occusync 1, which is only 2.4ghz. It does not have 5.8. 2. When describing Occusync, you stated it switches between 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz and everything in between. I take that statement as it also uses 3ghz and 4ghz. That is incorrect. It only uses the 2.4ghz range and the 5.8ghz range, ie. 2.48, 2.47, 2.43, 5.87, 5.85, 5.83, etc. 3. Flying your drone with it behind you is not a big deal. The antennas are omni directional, meaning they give out and receive transmission in all directions, not just where you are pointing it. Granted, you will probably get a stronger signal with the top of the controller(the top of the portion that holds your phone) pointed at your drone, but flying behind you should not be a problem and will still give you good transmission.

BUT I'll learn from this and whenever I speak I'll make sure to be clear for guys like yourself.. the question is why you felt the need to pick apart the video and find statements that could be wrong is looked at them a different way. Not good. This last update caused mine to fly away.. video coming soon. Try reverting back to an older firmware on the computer. With assistant 2 app..
Also make sure to turn off wifi and Bluetooth on the device your using to fly the drone.. 💙👍👍. You should be able to get at least a mile with that mini 2... 💙💙. No problem... In fact much further but definitely a mile anywhere even in the city where I live.. 👍👍 Mikey
It's strange. my Original mavic pro will go double the distance with clear video with occusync 1.0. Than my Mini 2 does with occusync 2.0.. and my Dji occusync goggles wont connect to the mini 2.. Im down here in wilmington Delaware below philly. I aint been to philly since Show and tell for my bachelor party
Good video , but to be clear, if I am flying in a rural area with no wi fi interference, and I’m going for distance, I should put in 2.4 GHz, Smooth rather than HD, and 20 MHz for maximum distance?
Tutorials are great, something I knew little about now i understand. Any idea why the Air 2 would have very stuttery display while taking panoramic 180 images? It didn't but now it's very jumpy on my screen. Fly 1.2.4 on a Galaxy S7 Tablet. I also recently tweaked my gimbal settings for smoother video but I wouldn't think that would affect how it moves to take a pano.
Thank you very much for the watch and comment.... As far as your problem....... That's weird. I rarely do photos and panos but I'll test mine to see if I have the problem .... Whenever something like that happens what I do is an update refresh on the computer with the assistant ² app for mavic..... Then I recalibrate everything including compass and IMU... ALSO don't forget the CAMERA SETTINGS .......... RESET YOUR CAMERA SETTING back to default, Then do a auto gimble calibration. Write your numbers down first so you can put them back to where you liked them... I hope that helps some.. 💙💙💙💙👍👍👍 Mikey

Also saw my props as it was moving between images which I don't recall ever seeing. I was hoping to get up flying for some snow images but it's really coming down and windy :( Maybe someone braver will get out in this.

Same here, i resolved it by setting my band at 2.7 and auto so it’ll search on that frequency. I couldn’t get anything at 5 or dual. These problems happened with the latest update of firmware. I spoke with DJI and this is how I fixed it. Im at this channel bc I wanted to understand how the R C/ frequency works in relation to the drone. Hope this helps.
No. The camera on the drone is what you set it too there word smooth pertains to the signal strength back to the tablet or phone. Smooth will give you a 720p back to the phone or tablet instead of 1080. Hence there's more strength to go further.. hope that helps. Mikey

All depends on your countries rules and regulations. Stay away from airports, people and moving cars and you should be fine. I would think as long as you do them things stated above.... you can fly where you want. Don't forget to HAVE FUN... Unfortunately Mini2 has no HD transmission. Is it right? It is a shame when you fly with a tablet. Quality transmission of the air2 seems better. What do you think? 😃

i just got mavic air 2 fly more combo and went 5500m with it before losing connection. occusync really is amazing tech.

Im only getting 900 meters distance out of my mini 2. That's at 80 to 100 meters altitude.

Not good. This last update caused mine to fly away.. video coming soon. Try reverting back to an older firmware on the computer. With assistant 2 app..

Also make sure to turn off wifi and Bluetooth on the device your using to fly the drone.. 💙👍👍. You should be able to get at least a mile with that mini 2... 💙💙. No problem... In fact much further but definitely a mile anywhere even in the city where I live.. 👍👍

It's strange. my Original mavic pro will go double the distance with clear video with occusync 1.0. Than my Mini 2 does with occusync 2.0.. and my Dji occusync goggles wont connect to the mini 2..

Good video , but to be clear, if I am flying in a rural area with no wi fi interference, and I’m going for distance, I should put in 2.4 GHz, Smooth rather than HD, and 20 MHz for maximum distance?

Tutorials are great, something I knew little about now i understand. Any idea why the Air 2 would have very stuttery display while taking panoramic 180 images? It didn't but now it's very jumpy on my screen. Fly 1.2.4 on a Galaxy S7 Tablet. I also recently tweaked my gimbal settings for smoother video but I wouldn't think that would affect how it moves to take a pano.

As far as your problem.......
That's weird. I rarely do photos and panos but I'll test mine to see if I have the problem .... Whenever something like that happens what I do is an update refresh on the computer with the assistant ² app for mavic.....
Then I recalibrate everything including compass and IMU... ALSO don't forget the CAMERA SETTINGS .......... RESET YOUR CAMERA SETTING back to default, Then do a auto gimble calibration. Write your numbers down first so you can put them back to where you liked them... I hope that helps some.. 💙💙💙💙👍👍👍

Also saw my props as it was moving between images which I don't recall ever seeing. I was hoping to get up flying for some snow images but it's really coming down and windy :( Maybe someone braver will get out in this.

But I'm having trouble at 30ft with my mini 2 drone not connected to RC even though I updated both controller and drone April 22, 2023.
Same here, i resolved it by setting my band at 2.7 and auto so it’ll search on that frequency. I couldn’t get anything at 5 or dual. These problems happened with the latest update of firmware. I spoke with DJI and this is how I fixed it. Im at this channel bc I wanted to understand how the R C/ frequency works in relation to the drone. Hope this helps.

So if you leave it in smooth only your phone goes to 720 the camera on the drone stays at 4K??
No. The camera on the drone is what you set it too there word smooth pertains to the signal strength back to the tablet or phone. Smooth will give you a 720p back to the phone or tablet instead of 1080. Hence there's more strength to go further.. hope that helps.

I understand you can fly the dji mini 1 and 2 over towns and cities but can you do the same with the mavic air 2?
All depends on your countries rules and regulations. Stay away from airports, people and moving cars and you should be fine. I would think as long as you do them things stated above.... you can fly where you want. Don't forget to HAVE FUN... Doesn't the drone communicate back to the controller NOT the phone. Actually it's recommended to turn wifi off on your phone.
