I'm speaking specifically about salaried employees. So... I get wanting to have multiple sources of income. Problem is, I've worked with people who have secret second and third jobs. They've been found out because they can't even do 1 job properly and are very bad at being discrete. I don't think someone should be let go just for *having a second or even third job". But I've also had to pick up the slack for people that think they can manage all the work when they're actually terrible at it. I’m still stunned at these work complaint videos people coming up with all this legal advice and tips on how to deal with employers. I had one technique that always worked, if your boss asks something reasonable and is within your responsibilities say “yes, Boss I’ll get right on it.” And do it. If your boss asks you to do something unreasonable and outside of your responsibilities say “yes Boss, I’ll get right on it.” But don’t do it. If your boss confronts you just say “oh gee I don’t remember, sorry boss.” Your boss will eventually think you are too stupid to figure out how to work late or do extra OR will fire you and you get all the benefits because when you get your reason for dismissal it will be unlawful. My last boss was great, he asked me to do extra stuff sometimes as a rare absolute last resort but because he was mostly reasonable I was like suuuuuure.

These jobs dont pay enough. I made $150 babysitting one weekend and told no one at work. It was my extra money for bills and my hair.
