As a native of Derbyshire I'm very fortunate to frequently visit Bakewell and Chatsworth. My wife and I like to sit outside the Rutland Hotel and people watch, then it's off to the Riverside fish and chip shop for cod and pea mix then sit and eat them by the river. Bloody marvellous
This is the England we Aussies read and dream about. Being in lockdown ,which seems forever ,your glimpses into history and the gorgeous houses are a welcome gift. Thank you.
Was a lovely place to visit not long after we came out of our last lockdown. I think that made it all the more special. We were blessed with great weather too! Thanks for watching.
Bake well is a beautiful town but the surrounding countryside is even more so. Absolutely fabulous, get your walking boots on go to Youlgrave village and walk Bradford Dale wonderful countryside England at its best.
As a yankee, it would be wonderful to see a map of the British counties at the beginning of each video. I’m familiar with some, but not all! Lovely work, guys-always enjoy these explorations!
we lived in England Horsham for 3 years and visit England every year since. We have fallen in love with the beauty, and the lovely people and of course - cup or tea! Hoping to get back this year
Coming from Nottingham myself, I love going to the Peak District especially around Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, Castleton, Glossop and Lathkill Dale. I have travelled to so many exotic places around the world but you cannot knock the tranquillity and serenity of the beautiful Peak District. I am so lucky that it isn't too far from Nottingham and I do spend a day in the summer there nearly every year
Well if it makes you feel better it’s not exactly warm here at the moment, in fact around the same temperature. The main difference in England to Michigan is that we don’t get the very low temps. in Winter and heavy snow falls are not very common though of course we can experience them in some years.
I have fallen in love with English villages. I watch many British shows, and they are always filmed in the most charming old villages. Thank you so much for sharing these places with us & giving us historical facts as well. I am so happy I have found your UA-cam channel. God bless you & safe travels.
I could see myself vacationing there. It seems all the little villages in England are charming & idyllic. Thank you again for another Saturday morning adventure for me here in Sherwood, Arkansas.
The Peak District is a wonderful place to vacation for sure. Much to see, we just had a weekend there and next time chatworth house just 3 miles away will show you a bit more from that weekend. Easily spend a week in that area.
The West Country (Cornwall, Somerset, Devon, Dorset) has some beautiful villages, as of course does the Cotswolds (a large area bordering the West Country and encompassing more than one county, where they filmed Downton Abbey and parts of Spielberg’s War Horse, and which is beyond idyllic), as well as The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales etc etc. Yes, England is literally littered with picture-postcard villages. It’s the one thing that makes it hard to leave, because after a while you just miss them. And it’s the setting as well, with our distinctive rolling green hills and little churches. Don’t get me wrong - places like France and Germany have some stunning ancient villages, but there’s something very unique, nostalgic and magical about ours. But obviously I’m biased 😂 😂
@@penname5766 Thank you for the info. I'm planning on vacationing in England 2023. I want to spend a day in the Cotswolds. A truly beautiful part of the world and the people are so so friendly, different to the London lot'! And the hill walking in Derbyshire is second to none with fantastic industrial history. Be aware though, Derbyshire does get extremely busy and if you go to Coton in the Elms, this is the place in the UK that's the furthest point from the coast. Interesting fact of the day!!! I feel incredibly lucky living on the outskirts of Sheffield as I can just get in the car and drive there in about 25 minutes. I love sitting and watching the ducks and geese on the the river. It is really relaxing. I love Bakewell.
As a local it's interesting to see Bakewell from the perspective of an outsider, and what the tourists all seem to be looking at (and as someone who's grown up here I've never understood).
Such beautiful little town, so romantic which has known how to preserve its own natural spaces. All is beauty. It makes me dream of a future travel in England country. As a foreigner I know only London and there is so much to see around. A big hello from France
I’m a yankee lady. This is my “dream” vacation destination, and Chatsworth House too! I’d rather go here than anywhere else-if I had to choose one place!

What a great channel I stumbled on. An American who loves England, visited a few times. Every time I land at Heathrow they make me feel at home. Great filming and narration. Looking forward to seeing many more videos. Thank you!
In the eighties I used to drive through Bakewell, touring Derbyshire and South Yorkshire on our visits (from Belgium) to relatives in Sheffield. What a shame we never really stopped there !!! Thanks a lot that after these years, I finally "know" Bakewell ! It seems like heaven.

We have been to Bakewell so many times over 40 odd years it’s true it’s stunning little village locals very friendly as are most who visit . The views travelling for us from leek over Buxton to the Derbyshire dales is for me my piece of heaven . 👏👏👏👏👍🏻

Absolutely stunning! So perfect and peaceful. Oh how I miss England. Such a beautiful part of the country.. Have not had a bakewell tart in decades..treats looked so delicious. You did a wonderful job narrating and the photography is mesmerising. Thank you as always
This was delightful! With your narration I can easily imagine Jane Austen traipsing down those lanes and across the charming bridges. The river scenes are a balm for me, here in very dry Southern California. While on the bus from Heathrow (to visit relatives in Berkshire during my one and only visit so far), my husband and I kept exclaiming, "Look! Everything is SO GREEN!
Stunning tranquil peaceful and civilized. After looking at your wonderful vlogs I wonder why people would want to live in London these days .there’s just no comparison. Another informative and very well put together vlog . Thank you 🙏 best regards from Vietnam 🇻🇳
I guess it depends on the person really but there is definitely a move for people to want to move away to the countryside since the pandemic and have more space. With the work from home option becoming more widely available I suspect this will increase. I just hope people make it a permanent home and not a second home that kills communities.
Not everyone wants the quietness of the countryside or the lack of diversity in some towns and villages. London has lots to do and people can get high paying jobs. I live in Birmingham and live it but I do visit the countryside for short breaks but get bored after a few days but the scenery and tranquility is a welcome break for me. Everyone has their own idea of what suits them and I like the hustle and bustle of being in a city as well as knowing I can see and interact with people from all backgrounds.

Like many other tourist towns in most of the world: neatly, even beautifully kept but with no real life in them except for the tourist trade. For all the prettiness of it, there's something a little artificial and sad about it.
I can tell you with absolute certainty that is not the case, just like anywhere in the world people have problems with drugs, drink, relationships, money etc. England is not full of happy and wealthy people, it is just as broken as Russia.
Being a native of Derbyshire. I have spent many a happy day with family and friends in Bakewell, surrounding areas of Chatsworth Park, Chatsworth House, villages of Baslow Bubnell, Beeley, Pilsley and Endsor where the Dukes and Duchesses of Devonshire the Cavendish family are buried. Elizabeth Talbot the Countess of Shrewsbury. Bess of Hardwick hadconnections with Chatsworth house
Great. Since I was a child, I have been watching the beautiful scenes of your country through long-running TV series. Through books and newspapers, I have always wished to come here once in my life. but that wish is too far away, won't come true in this life, thanks for the great video
Thank you, a wonderfully filmed, and informative video. Bakewell is one of my very favourite towns in the UK. Being born in Buxton but raised in Dunedin NZ, I have had a few trips back to my extended family, one of whom is lucky enough to live in Granby Croft, just off the market place. Many lovely memories.
Very nostalgic. My favourite place in a world. Peak District is worth visiting any time. Another great video, thank you so much, guys. Looking forward to watching Chatsworth house. It is a cherry on a cake.

Each of these places reminds me of Enid Blyton stories. Please never spoil these dreamlike places.😍😍😍😍
Fantastisch! Alles schön sauber und grün!

Why not? It is possible. You should start planning to visit!
A shame you will not make it here but glad we can show you in some way virtually. All the best.

Thank you for sharing Sue, we hope to visit Buxton the next time are up that part of the country.
Very nostalgic. My favourite place in a world. Peak District is worth visiting any time. Another great video, thank you so much, guys. Looking forward to watching Chatsworth house. It is a cherry on a cake.
We have just take a small slice of the beautiful Peak District. Definitely need to head back for sure! Thanks for watching and enjoying 😊
What a dream would be living there
Terima kasih sudah ajak kami jalan2 liat pedesaan d.inggris yg sangat indah n bersih

Just found this by chance and had to subscribe immediately. Have heard of the Peak District as being lovely and you’ve proved it in spades. 🥰
Welcome and thank you for subscribing. It certainly is a special place and we hope to be back again soon to experience some more. Not a place we have visited often either.
