Thank you for watching! So what do you think it was?
I'm really enjoying stepping up the quality and production value. This one was a tougher one to edit as it had a lot of moving parts ;) For a quick Plane Savers update, We have the Fokker Wings and Landing gear being worked on in the Toronto area so we will be ready to go once the border opens up :)
Incredible work! I'm currently doing a re-watch of Ice Pilots. But have been following your series here on UA-cam. I think you actually make a pretty awesome documentary filmmaker! The passion shines right through! Really great stuff.
Thanks David!!
I think a little follow up should take place. Are the boarders the same as they were 60 years ago, maybe it filled in, maybe it widened, best way to tell would be to have ME go up in the Norsemen and look😁😁😁
Yay! The Fokker project is still alive then!
Any content is good content mate, My money is on aerial debris or space junk.
Anything Fokker related is a bonus considering the havoc this Beerflu has caused but my expectations are low so this sort of thing is a pleasant bonus!
Rule number one for all mystery documentaries: Establish an impossible deadline that forces you to leave the search area
The military had decades to dig it up so if it was important it would have done so.
@@orlock20 technology didn't exist back then that exists today. Those with the memory retire, things are forgotten, or los, people...and especially the military are fallible.
Anything that hit that lake that matches the witness description will be metal, even a meteorite, and can be easily located in an afternoon with a towed metal detector.
@@SpenserRoger The military was there to make the reports and left.
@@orlock20 I don't see how your first statement backs up the second one...
@@SpenserRoger Going to need a BIG magnet to pull it out though
Great excuse for flying out to an isolated lake and having one heck of a good time.
Exactly
Camping on an isolated lake and they didn't bring a fishing rod?
Hard to believe, lol...
Backroad Junkie look closer at 14:11 they are fishing.
@@MikeyMcBryan Ah, didn't catch that. (No pun intended.) Seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up! :)
@@MikeyMcBryan I noticed that. While they were "rushing" back to catch the plane 😉
I the theory of a prop off of a plane since he heard a plane at high altitude and then something hit the water with spoke like features.
Tu-95, perchance?
Yep, my thoughts exactly.
A prop wouldn't be rotating that much anymore by the time it fell from that height. Nor would it have enough rotational momentum to cause the effect the witness saw.
@@Cragified I don't agree. Falling flat would cause the propeller to windmill as it is falling. They didn't say how fast the "spokes" were turning when it hit the water. But we are all entitled to our own opinions. Have a good one.
@@KoJo-qh9od A loose propeller doesn't not fall like that. It falls edge on as that is the lowest drag orientation. Second a propeller is also very light, as light as it can be. This reduces the stress on the hub as well as the blades among many other things.
Man ! I just luv watching the Norseman taking off of the water. Sorry Mikey but the Norseman stole some of your thunder. 😁. Seriously good production skills. Keep the vids coming👍
Norseman always steals the show!!!
Mikey McBryan yes it does but just wait until the Fox Moth is done !😁
@@MikeyMcBryan The aerial footage of the Norseman taking off is pure gold. Well done.
You sure you didn't do this for Tourism NWT?
I have to disagree with others about space junk. Unless there was a heck of a lot more items being put into space than was generally acknowledged back in the late 50's early 60's, it;s very unlikely. There just wasn't that much stuff up there to come down.
I think Stella's tack might bear some fruit, so some follow up that might be an idea.
As another poster said GPR. Not to sure how that would work with water but worth a look.
@@MikeyMcBryan Dang this type of investigation is right up my alley. Next year head back out. BTW the Norseman is one airplane that is on my list to be a passenger in. Especially if your dad was the Pilot!
Since this is a UFO story we can make story as strange and wacky as possible.
So here's my take:
"During the 1950s and "60s there was this secret space program in the Netherlands. The program was led by the Royal Netherlands Air Force with as primary contractor Fokker a small little known Dutch aircraft manufacturer. Together they produced a vehicle with 3 rotating wings, it was called the Triplane II. Painted all red, because the family of the Red Baron sponsored part of the project. As cover up from the Dutch government they joined ESA around the same time.
The plan of the program was for it to be able to fly around half the world. Thus they shipped the vehicle to a small place known for its rich Dutch history, Dutch Harbor in Alaska. From there the vehicle was launched in the direction of the Netherlands, but it never made it there. No one knew what happened. Did the Russians shoot it down, was it abducted by aliens??"
No one knew, but I think you've found Mikey!
P.S. Nothing is real about that story, please don't consider it real.
About *time* you showed up again!! Welcome back, Mikey!!
Mikey McBryan's "In Search Of..."
Good stuff. Hope you can get back there next year!
Thanks bud!!
I just notice how Canadian Stella is getting...she said Eh? Lol She is getting more Canadian all the time
Ya, fair skookum, eh.
beaute` for sure and that i can tell you for free
She is probably the best thing Canada ever got from Germany. And I hope we don't intend to give her back.
Mikey, you are becoming a magnificent story teller. Time to Go big now.. Something similar to Ice Pilots.
Next week - 'Sputnik Savers - the search for Spock!' : )
🖖🏻
What a great documentary. This is serious quality my friend! your production and editing skills are top notch. I am really impressed how well you are able to tell the story and captivate the audience with some great shots and interviews. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Time to bring in Josh Gates from Discovery to investigate with some side-scan sonar and a magnetometer......
a metal detector?
@@davedavedave52 A magnetometer is a boat-pulled instrument to locate metallic objects underwater and at distance....like the hand-held metal detector on steroids
@@bugfreek1 Ah.. the perfect detector
Good idea!
Cant forget to bring a Geiger counter as well bc if it is a ufo it will be admiring radition lol
I would totally watch a "In Search Of" series hosted by Mikey covering the mysterious happenings of the Northern Territories! Im sure there are endless events/mysteries for content ideas and the area is BEAUTIFUL and almost unknown to many whom live well outside the area. I love that your Dad has had so much camera time recently as well, you definitely get your story telling abilities from him. If you didn't have to run the family business 24/7 - 365 you could easily make it as a filmmaker alone, this stuff is just too great!
Totally agree on all points.
In the past dredging of my family's lake happened every couple years. Then they stopped. When they did dredge it was as clear as possible to see the boats that had been lost. After a year or so you could no longer find anything.
Great video Mikey! I like how you are branching out from plane savers into a bit more culture around the North.
The truth is out there, go find it Mikey.
The truth could be your next door neighbour. But in most cases you would'nt know it. :)
Mikey,
Due to the government secrecy, my best guess is that what crashed has something to do with CF-105 Avro Arrow and it’s mysterious cancellation just 1 year earlier.
Love it!!!
Nice one Mikey. Long time no see.
This is awesome!
Your videos are so well produced, all the animations, voiceovers..
I’ve flown Beavers, Otters, a Stinson Gull Wing, always wanted to get my mitts on a Norseman.
Maybe it was a rotary engine of a Fokker triplane? ;-)
Lol then I need to find it hahah :)
as always the cinematography and editing are on point, great video.
Quality work as usual Mikey, I love what you good people do up there in that part of the world. I'm a globe apart here in Australia. Looking forward to your next video.
Another wonderful video! Thank you, Mikey.
Awesome video, Mikey! Much love from Kentucky, always look forward to your videos! Great production quality, can't wait to see the next one, and I hope you guys get to go back and find whatever it was!!!
Was so happy to see the gang together again. Thanks Mikey for sharing.
This production quality is awesome Mikey, great subject also thanks man i really enjoyed it
Great film and beautifully made Mikey! Loving teh production values and the edit.
Great video! Thank you Mikey. And you left us with a teaser!
Great to see you back Mikey! Great production and all new to me. Looking forward to maybe hearing more about this in the future.
That Norseman, what a beauty
It's really awesome how you guys have managed to stay more secure in a competitive market by leveraging your vintage planes to lean into media production.
Dude! Your editing and putting this video together telling the story has blown all your other work out of the water. Wow! Good job.
Mikey congrats! You really set the hook with the mystery storyline and an engrossing presentation enhanced with excellent camera angles. Yep, an excellent production Mikey! 👍👍 Based on your eye witness reports I'm also betting the UFO was a detached spinning prop that could have easily sliced into and buried itself in the shallow muddy lake bottom. Wonder if there's possibly a long lost report filed by a civilian or military plane suffering a prop loss during that time period in that area.
As always... Cheers from Thailand and...Keep 'em coming young fella. 😁
Gr8 way of trying something new Mikey. I think these short docs will be good do more !
I'm not saying it's aliens but it's not aliens.
Maybe illegal aliens.
A Epic veiw! Wow excellent job Mikey! Sure appreciate your efforts in all! THIS was a awesome story!picture Perfect !✌ Cheers!🍻
As a CASARA member it amazes me how much was lost in the north. We spent a few days chasing ghosts. I have a science background, if its a meteorite you should be able to detect iridium
Great story and a FANTASTIC JOB Telling it
Thank you Tim!!!! :)
Great video Mikey! Entertaining for sure
Mikey, stepping up his craft, the production keeps getting better and better.
Great episode, great story and high level video editing ! Love it!
Hope they DO open up the borders soon, you guys got to much time on your hands! Just kidding Mikey, wonderful video, great job of editing and production, really enjoyed it. I stopped by FDakpta flats the other day and will put that video up soon, take care!
I almost didn't follow the story because the scenery was so awesome, and the planes, and the people, and how everybody was so natural in front of the camera. Great video!
Mikey...the production values and quality are unbelievably good!!! You are becoming a damn fine filmmaker!
Thanks Chris!!
Mikey, your video skills are really great! Keep up the awesome work.👍🏻
I'm 4 and half mins in and I wanna live in Canada now. From Wisconsin. So serene, you guys are soft easy spoken, that water is crystal clear...
Really enjoyed this one Mikey. I love mysteries like this! You can’t leave us in suspenders like this though - you MUST go back and see what that long thing under the water in your drone footage is....👍😎. (Thanks for all your vids btw, great entertainment😊)
Another excellent production. Very interesting and above all puts a question mark as to what that cylindrical object is in your drone footage???? Hope you have the coordinates for that because it looks like it needs a close up investigation. Keep em coming Mikey.
Great editing and sound your videos have gotten very professional and I can tell you spend a lot of time on them. Thank you
Awesome story Mikey very interesting 👍
This channel is just pure quality. You guys are all a bunch of wonderful human beings.
A meteorite will be metallic ie:Iron. If anything did infact hit that lake as described it will be metal. Low levels of oxygenated water like that in such a lake will preserve such evidence. A towed metal detector or even a towed ground penetrating radar will make quick work of that lake and can be had for quite cheap and folded into a small airplane.
Go back.
I love the huge smiles on everyone. You can tell these folks really love what they do and it comes through in the quality of the content.
Keep smiling and stay awesome. 🛸
It’s Spencer Suderman’s prop he lost of his Pitts. He was going so fast and so high, the prop traveled from California to Canada and time traveled back 50 or so years!
Excellent segment Mike. It begs for further investigation, perhaps with the use of a metal detector. Lastly, the topic of UFOs has always captured my undivided attention.
Superior quality material! Thank you for your work, keep'em coming.
Lucky you got that Canuck out of the rafters!
I'm just blown away by how much your production quality is improving. This is a masterpiece!
Thanks bud
Thought I was watching a TV show. Great editing Mikey.
A lot of effort went into this production, thanks for the story. Who knows maybe you found to object you were looking for after the fact.
Mikey, please keep this great content coming!
Great video. Thanks for this. From your last bit of drone footage, think that I may have a clue. Fort Churchill Manitoba had a rocketry range in the 1960's during this time frame. There was a secret project called HARP or High Altitude Research Project run by Dr. Gerry Bull where he tried to launch a satellite using ballistics (firing it from a huge diameter ballistic gun -- actually a few howitzers welded together). They also had regular rockets to test the Alouette satellite at Fort Churchill. This distance from Fort Churchill to Clan Lake is only about 1,185 kilometers. I think that it is a test rocket gone wrong from the Fort Churchill Rocketry range, if it wasn't from the HARP project. As an interesting aside, Dr. Gerry Bull (a Canadian) was assassinated by Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service. He got several magazines from Uzi submachine pistols emptied into his face, because he was trying to sell Sadam Hussein a supergun that was capable of launching a payload the size of a Volkswagen Beetle over 1000 kilometers. Edit: PS - the spinning could be the rocket in its death throes spinning around.
ochsblogger Dr. Bull was actually shot in the back of the head with a suppressed .22cal pistol five times as he bent over to pick up a newspaper that Massad had placed at the front door of his apartment. The .22 bullets penetrate the skull then ricochet around inside of it doing the job quietly yet very effectively. He had returned to Germany due to the pipe he was to use for the barrel had been held up by customs in England. Brilliant man but just working for the wrong side.
I will watch it a couple more times,it's great video and very interesting.
Thanks for sharing your effort.
Great Production Mikey!
😊 vert nice production. I especially enjoyed the guy who kept smiling 😊
The quality of your videos and post-prod technics is getting better and better, bravo.
Don’t have a clue what crashed in the lake but I loved the video. Love to see the float planes and the scenery. Keep them coming Mikey!
Nicely done, good sir! Looks like a pretty beautiful spot.
Thanks for showing this video and what a great story you told 👍
Cool video Mikey. Nicely done. Another unsolved mystery.
Good video Mikey. Have not heard from you in a while
My bet it was a drone due to the noise they reported it making before it crashed. Good video. Glad to see you back.
4-6 foot across spinning object with radial arms sounds an awful lot like someone lost a propeller ( i thought that form when you first read the prospector's description of the event)
Great Video!! Welcome back!!
Mikey, very nice job on your mini-documentary! Your daily videos were always good, but you've really become a filmmaker.
Thanks bud!!
Mikey: I'm also rally impressed with the production value. Great collection of Canadian characters!
Incredible cinematography, professional editing, interesting subject matter. Fantastic supporting videos and photos. Your absolute best yet! Worthy of award consideration. This is easily a full length documentary consideration! Canada Film Board should finance this. Thanks Mikey for providing some life in a difficult Canadian time.
Just over the past week or so discovered "PLANE SAVERS" so this Clan Lake video popped up. Excellent production, Mikey...a long way from the Go Pro at minus 40! Hope to see more like this while I fly through PLANE SAVERS...and I'm digging the Blue Jackets jersey - it's a long way from Cbus to Yellowknife!
Wow Mikey, you are fast becoming a superb cinematographer and editor. Really nice footage, but you have a beautiful subject to show us, in Buffalo Airways and Canada. Awesome work!
And I reckon it was a piece of space junk...or a Soviet engine...
I think this is just Part 1 of this story. Looking forward to the next episode on this mystery. Great Job!
Mikey, you have become an amazing video host and presenter. From "Ice Pilots" and "Plane Savers" to your own projects. It is awesome to see Buffalo Joe so happy now. Well done Mikey. I am a Canadian from Ontario living in England right now and you make me proud buddy. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
As always Mikey, another fantastic production by you and Stella. The north holds many secrets, many forgotten stories. Most importantly though it holds you and your family and I can only hope that one day you and your father sit down with some others like Max Ward and write a book about it .
Great storytelling. Keep up the great work.
Can’t wait for a part 2! You must go back and bring your mask and snorkel to get a look underwater!
Your videos getting better each time! Well done, Mikey! 👌🏻 Do you script them first, or do the whole structuring in post?
Everything in post. I always have an idea in my head for story structure and for shots to get to help the edit. But the story comes together at the end. Finding good songs also helps move the story along.
@@MikeyMcBryan Ah, just like I do it 😉 Music is very important too, right? On average, I use 6 to 7 songs in one episode 🙈 Almost as much as B-roll 😂
I always have problems resolving aliens with advanced technology coming to earth but can’t seem to fly here..and just crash.
Right!? Like they fly halfway across the galaxy, hit our atmosphere and go oh shit son, whats this air bubble surrounding this rock!?
Voyager 1 and 2 won't be landing if they hit something. It's possible that any alien contact would be from probes sent 10s of thousands of years ago.
Very nice production!
Good one Mike and crew! As stated in earlier comments great story and production values. Joe is a constant source of wonder as a person who has had such a rich life experience. I am happy for you all in the Northwest Territories as it represents true wilderness and I am sure holds many secrets that have not been discovered. I am happy knowing that talented persons such as yourselves are there to express and share the wonders of the natural world. O' Canada!
Yippee! Another video from Mikey!
Aliens?
Yep, 👽 It was me... 🛸
Thanks Mikey, that was fun. I have no ideas but the drone idea could be worth following up on.
Very well. Thanks a lot for the video.
2 years late thanks for the video and thanks for all your work on the channel
Fascinating, love this channel.
Absolutely amazing production value.
👍👍 thank you for the inspiration:)
Epic story Mikey!!!! I was wondering where that piston out of my engine landed, must've traveled back in time & around the world to get there ha ha ha! Loving these type's of video's but would love to see more of the grass roots PLANE SAVERS!!! type video's as well. Been missing ya mate & hope you all are doing well. Not seeing anything on the membership side of things now for a few months so have been a bit worried about you all. Anyways, thanks for sharing this bud I loved it!
Thank you for the all the support! I’ll post a membership video tomorrow:)
@@MikeyMcBryan sorry for making a post on Facebook bud, was just a random brain thought while watching some of the old videos. Hope that doesn't impact you guys badly. Didn't expect so much response lol. Love to you all from Australia
I have a similar story to tell, but with a more practical and anticlimactic resolution:
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and up until I was in High School I had heard stories of a B-25 Mitchell crash-landing in the Monongahela River after WW2. Most of the locals believed it was still at the bottom of the river.
One day. I was at the main branch of the city's library, reading the latest edition of Pittsburgh Magazine and I read an article about the B-25 crash. In it, the author told the story, and then told of a "dredging project" on the river done by the Army Corps of Engineers two or three years after the crash, *in the dead of night!*
Hey, gotta make those deadlines, right?
Clan Lake, a place requiring a float plane to reach it, with so few people living nearby there are no roads? You collected a lot of hard-copy reports...but not all of them?
I believe it's space junk too, but I also believe the Canadian equivalent of the Army Corps of Engineers and some NASA nerds had a midnight "dredging project" to finish ASAP.
Those dang deadlines - what a bunch of buzzkils!
Then again, you might be on to something with that oddly perfectly straight-looking log, so go get it ASAP...before someone officially announces a Clan Lake dredging project ;)
Video editing is getting damn good!
Great story and fantastic plane footage :)
You need to call Moulder and Scully !!! Great video Mickey and beautifully filmed.
