Chiropractor here. I've watched almost 10 incorrect videos before finally finding someone showing proper median nerve flossing. Great video. If you're confused by different people showing different methods for flossing, this guy is the right one.
I have Ehlers-Danlos hypermobility, and am pretty much permanently injured. I cannot wait for your book to arrive. Your videos have helped me manage the pain and acute symptoms hugely. Thank you.
Unbelievable, my severe neck pain was gone after 15 reps of the first exercise. My fingers are still numb but some relief is better than no relief. Thank you so much and i will continue with the exercises.
Awesome THANKS!!! Did it twice and felt relief I’ll work on this I feel like mine stems from bad shoulder sleeping and a terrible mattress! I’ve been looking crazy at work with my arm in the air and out to the side. Thanks for giving me more direction… I was close! ~former nurse, current radio sales! This will help me keep the smile I depend on even on the worst day!
Thank you for recommending this to me! I have had some neck discomfort on the same side as the painful wrist and hand. I ordered a brace for sleeping and will do these exercises.
I've been battling numbing pains in my right arm after overdoing a workout for over two weeks now, I was even losing sleep due to the pain the first week so I had enough and went to a massage therapist which did get rid of some of the pain in my outer arm but then I started to get some new pains (yay!), this sudden and intense electrocution feeling through my whole arm when I angled it a certain way (thankfully not while in a sleeping position so it didn't impact my sleep). Unfortunately that "certain way" was when I'd be at my desk trying to work. Well, after finding your video and doing two sets of 15 spaced about an hour apart that pain that has been shooting through my arm is greatly reduced! My fingers are still a little numb but hopefully over time that'll improve as well, I just hope that pain stays away. 😁🤞 I'll continue to do my "homework" to improve my condition. Thanks doc!
I’m doing this exercise together with som pulling on a rubber band. Hope it helps. I don’t know if I actually have carpal tunnel syndrome, but I thought I’d give this a go, as it cannot hurt. The thumb numbness is really bothering me, and keeps me from being able to play videogames with the kids. How long should it take to improve when doing this exercise? And how long should the exercise regimen be uphold? Months? Years?
I have no feeling in my left index finger. Is there something more specific for this localized area. C6 is what my chiro is targeting. Healing from a shoulder strain.
I get increasing pain in my pronator teres muscle when I do this stretch, is that okay or is the stretch meant to relieve the pain? Think I compressed my median nerve in the gym when going from an overhead press into a deadlift and dropping the weight quite fast, caused lots of pins and needles. Then 3 days later woke up with a numb thumb
If I hold my arm up a little bit and out like holding something within like 10 seconds, my whole hand starts to get numb, even pins and needles there’s like a dull pain in my shoulder like my shoulder muscle like if you were to get a shot in your shoulder and you had that little bit of pain that hangs around. It’s kind of like that all the time. I really can’t find a comfortable position for it and no way I move seems to help, I think I aggravated it I was I was doing a bunch of reloading where I buy poor I know thing all the time it’s like a lever you pull down and then you push back up and then you push forward to him if you are push the primer up into the casing, so it’s like a hard push and then the polls down aren’t very hard and it seems like if I try to do that now it seems like that push forward is what makes it hurt but none of these exercise seem to be doing anything to it. Sorry if this is long-winded and if it’s illiterate it’s because I’m voice texting.
I started doing dead lifts 3 months ago the 2 months later this exactly happened. tingle tightness and numbness in thumb index middle and half ring. I stopped doing the dead lifts, the annoyance is still in my fingers almost a burn under the nails n finger. The doctor chalked it up to golfers elbow and gave me a compression brace. It did nothing. Its definitely the median nerve in my Wrist. I hope these exercises help it go away.
I have a numbing tingling sensation atop my index finger and I have suddenly lost all pushing power on that side. Pulling curling movements still generate power. Cannot contract or tighten pecs and triceps. M Suspevting it is the medial nerve issue
The first one works but I still have horrible numbness in my thumb and index finger. It helped with some of the burning feeling though. I don’t know if using a wrist brace would help at this point. Ready to just cut my hand off tbh.
Every video tells me to move my hand/wrist but I have no feeling in my first 3 fingers and thumb and cannot open my hand at all. I can grip things with maybe 10% strength and even part of my arm is numb following the nerve to the elbow.
I have the numbnes on my left thumb and a sharp pain on my left neck meaning it's the cause. I'd like to know if this situation can fully be treated. I developed the situation about three weeks ago and has made me worried. Is there cure for this? Kindly respond
Yes, in most cases, these symptoms resolve with time and the implementation of therapeutic exercises that target the affected areas. I would recommend also trying the exercises in my cervical video below. ua-cam.com/video/rZNC-IVPYFI/v-deo.htmlsi=20YemRfWB-ueNckp
For that area, you will want to try the exercises in my radial nerve mobilization video. Here is a link. ua-cam.com/video/5ilQ7eTEVz8/v-deo.htmlsi=YLqMUYhhXJgxqQOb
You’re welcome! Ice can help reduce pain, but be sure not to apply it for more than 15 to 20 minutes as it can provoke the nerve if you apply it for too long.
Yes, that is possible, but is less common. There is a condition called vascular thoracic outlet syndrome that affects the blood vessels that travel down the arm and could affect sensation and create similar symptoms to a nerve condition.
I having numbness on my middle finger. Specifically on top of my middle finger. That’s after I carried shopping bags and carry it using my finger. I carry shopping bags for 30-45 minutes. But 1 hour just past, and still I am feeling the numbness of my middle finger, top of my finger. The rest fingers are working fine only the middle finger.
The median nerve mobilization exercises in this video will help the nerves in your middle finger. However, it may be that the way you were carrying the shopping bags compressed one of the branches of the median nerve and it simply needs a bit of time to heal.
This often happens when people sleep with their arm or neck in a position that compromises the nerves. Usually the nerve will return to normal after a sufficient amount of time. These exercises may help speed up the recovery process. I hope you find them to be helpful!
@RehabScience thank you for replying. My finger has been bothering me for almost 24 hrs. I recently found out i have a bulge in my neck at C5 C6. Hoping this helps!
@@LiebexBunny31 I see. A C5-6 bulge can also create pain, numbness and tingling in the index finger, so that could be the root cause of your symptoms. The exercises in this video do help some people with that issue. You might also want to try the exercises in my cervical disc bulge video below. 4 Exercises for Cervical Degenerative Disc Disease ua-cam.com/video/Pkn7SLp9DSc/v-deo.html
In that case, you likely need to modify these exercises or try something else. If the nerve symptoms worsen, it’s a sign that the movement is too stressful for the nerve’s current stage of healing.

Hello Dr where is your location (clinic) ? Do you see patients in person?
I’m not taking new patients right now due to being busy with other projects.
I have had two neck surgeries and four shoulder surgeries and permanent nerve damage. Can any of this be fixed
My Right Tumb has numbness with no pain. If I do these two exercises then how much time required to be fully fixed the issue???

I’ve lost a significant amount of strength in my arm along with these symptoms. Is this common?
If the nerve is severely compromised, the muscles that it goes to can be weakened and atrophy.

You’re welcome! Ice can help reduce pain, but be sure not to apply it for more than 15 to 20 minutes as it can provoke the nerve if you apply it for too long.
So the pain and numbness could be caused by poor blood flow?
Yes, that is possible, but is less common. There is a condition called vascular thoracic outlet syndrome that affects the blood vessels that travel down the arm and could affect sensation and create similar symptoms to a nerve condition.
