Thanks so much...row 35 had no alternating colors for me so I seemed to have lost my way ...had to pull out and follow what you wrote... very helpful... thanks again!

I have lions brand usa and have made many hats wit it but not with only uknit by itself every row it is very tight. Can i wet the yarn
Love it if there were a written pattern because at the end you Start assuming, and leaving out steps. Love the hat. The cowl is much easier to follow. Gonna do the mittens too. Thank you.

Hello! I made your beautiful hat today, but it was my first time using a loom. My loom was the same size as yours, but mine had 82 pegs. So, I wrapped my yarn around every second peg. The hat turned out ok, but the stitches were kind of loose. Just wondering if I should have used 82 pegs, or a smaller size loom? Also, what size and type of yarn did you use? I used size 4 100% acrylic yarn. What's the best yarn to use for hats? Thanks for your help ☺
Thank you for this tutorial. The hat is completely adorable! There are a lot of steps, is there a place where I can get a written pattern?? Thanks so much!
I just made the hat today. It turned out great! But I got really confused when the video started speeding up at really crucial points and I couldn’t tell where I should start wrapping the primary and/or secondary color. And then all of a sudden the starting point was 4-5 pegs away from where it was originally. I also wasn’t sure what to do with the first primary color yarn when it switched to the secondary color at the end. So the inside looks a lot messier because I had to figure out how to tie it off without messing up the pattern. Overall, I love the look of this hat and I will be doing it again with some minor changes.
It also turned out too long even though I followed all the row counts perfectly. Maybe my yarn was too thick? But I feel like if it was any thinner it would be too floppy? I’m not sure
You can click the wheel at bottom right of the video and then click playback speed and adjust the speed of the video at those critical spots then return the speed back to normal in less needed areas
Valena. How do you get the written so i can use it to follow the video ther a spot i dont understand. When you start the color then you ewrap all the way around. It looks like you are skipping but the word say thwrap all pegs. Could you check your video please thanks your great
Do you think you can show us one with round and few number of lettering and how to do it right? Like tie and lock them very well without holes when changing colors? Like knit and e wrap with two different thing? It’d be awesome!
I LOVE IT!!! When I am done with the project that I am doing now I Will be making this hat. It's so easy to follows your instructions. Thank you very much for this tutorial. 👍👍👍
I just made this hat and the cowl. The hat and cowl turned out great. I did some minor changes to the hat. I did not like the u-wrap for the brim that was instructed in the video. I was concerned that knitting with the u-wrap stitch would make the brim too tight and would not fit on the head. Instead I used the heart stitch (which is like a purl stitch) for the brim. The purl stitch is stretchy and the brim fit on the head. I used chunky yarn 5.5mm for the main color. The hearts I used a medium weight yarn and doubled it. Thank you for your video.
at 6:36 you worked a row with the main color making two stitches on the pegs and then it just transitions to a new row of stitches with only 1 row worked. I assume it means to tell us to pull the yarn over on all the hooks inbetween these two steps?
I made two of these, both came out gorgeous but i had to use e wrap knit for the brim on the second one cuz the uknit ended up way too tight. Had to give it to my sister who has a smaller head 😂

Hello, you can use the same yarn like in the video (for knitting needles n° 7) but if you want it to be more loose you can use yarn for knitting needles n°6 to 6.5 (10-10.5 for USA).

Good Luck i made this hat over a year ago, in Red & white for the Christmas. Really pretty 😍
Very nice, but call me dumb, as I get stuck where you alternate colors for 3 rounds. Confusing as the video seems to speed up and skip over the row and moves on to the next. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to experiment and work it out on my own
I was worried it was just me. For the life of me I can't figure out why she stops/starts three pegs from her starting peg when she starts using the secondary yarn color.
I joined My Looming Obsession on Facebook. She has it written out with the owner of the pattern's permission. Still a tad confusing but easier than the video
I think that this video is great! But I must admit that I am not content with my hat, because it is "see-through". The wind will blow through my head... I don't know why it is so different from yours. I have used two yarns (knitting needle 4-5 mm) as one, so it should be okay.
What did you do to finish of brim to make it loose. I thiught of wetting this. This can soo break pegs easily with the brim. I think next time will do the last row of something else then turn it to be a brim. Would love to have info. Results im frustrated
For me to make it tighter instead of looping all the threads all the way around then bringing the lower loop over the top I did one at a time looping the lower over the upper one right away ,seemed to do the trick for me
I was able to make this on my loom, and I followed your instructions, I am a beginner, but it came out too big for my head? I mean, it'll probably fit a guy. Maybe it's the wool I used?
i know from experience that the 41 peg is too big so i got the set from kb that had the 48 in it. The 48 isa smaller just enough even though the same gauge weird so i recommend to all the 48 for adult which is bigger than average or your hair is thicker.
I’m not sure what went wrong but even though I used the same size loom, the brim ended up being child-sized and would not stretch to fit my adult-sized head. 😩
Sorry, maybe the wool is less flexible than the one I used. But I have two solutions to propose : the first one is to work the edge with a finer wool, from 4 to 5 mm of thickness, then to continue the rest of the hat with the more thicker wool. The second solution, is to work the edge with the e-wrap. With this two ways you will obtain a more flexible edge. Good luck with the next one. 🙂
Thank you for the quick reply. I should apologize since I actually got my looms mixed up and made this on a 36 peg loom. I re-did it on the 41 peg loom and I "figuratively" haven't taken it off of my head in days! :-) The u-wrap is a tight stitch but not too tight on the larger loom.

I just made it on a 36 peg and it will be too small for your head because the brim is not very stretchy
@@Afridge_ did you alter the pattern at all on the 36 peg? Or did you do it the exact same way? I want mine to be smaller so I can give it to a child.
I made it and it s awesome!!!thank you very much.i want to make a matching cowl.
Soon ! 🤗
Is there a pattern that I can purchase?
Does it matter what kind of yarn you use, to make this hat?
Lydia DeLay i used a size 6 super bulky and a size 5 bulky because it was the two colors I wanted to use. It turned out nice.
Conne386 awesome I love super bulky yarn.

I made one today and it turned out great :D Congrats on your work, I loved the tutorial! For those who asked for it, I got it written down:
Cast on: double e-wrap with the main color
rows 1-24 or 9cm: u-wrap with the main color
row 25: Spot the first row and cast-on stitch by stitch on the last knitted row and knit over to make the brim
row 26-30: e-wrap and knit over
row 31: e-wrap two pegs and jump the third on the main color. Knit over. Attach secondary color thread to main color thread with a knot (see video 5’32’’). E-wrap free pegs w/ secondary color thread and knit over
row 32: e-wrap and knit over in the main color (all pegs)
row 33: w/ main color e-warp the first peg and leave the second free, then e-wrap two pegs and leave one free for the rest of the row. knit over the last peg to lock the thread and e-wrap the free pegs with secondary color. knit over every peg
row 34: e-wrap and knit over in the main color (all pegs)
row 35: e-wrap alternating one peg in the main color and one in secondary color, knit over.
row 36-38: e-wrap with the main color on pegs with secondary color and vice versa, knit over
row 39: e-wrap and knit over in second color (all pegs)
row 40: e-wrap two pegs in secondary color, leaving the third one free. Block the thread and e-wrap the free pegs with the main color. knit over everything.
row 41: e-wrap and knit over in second color (all pegs)
row 42: e-wrap two pegs with secondary color and leave the third free. Block the thread and e-wrap free pegs with the main color. Knit over everything.
row 43-47: e-wrap and knit over in secondary color (all pegs)
Cut the thread leaving 90cm and thread the yarn needle. Slip the needle from the bottom up and pass the thread peg by peg. Take off work from the loom. Pull the thread and sew it closed.
@@bettyg5782 thank you so much
@@bettyg5782 I know this is a while ago, but I have vthe same question as many others! What is done to the main color once you start row 43-47? do you just knit rows 43-47 and then cut the main thread right off leaving a bit of tail, or do you cut it before row 43 and tie a knot w the secondary color? wouldnt want it to unravel.

Good Luck i made this hat over a year ago, in Red & white for the Christmas. Really pretty 😍
Can I make this hat on a forty peg loom?
I hope the even works im using a 48 peg 5/8
Very nice, but call me dumb, as I get stuck where you alternate colors for 3 rounds. Confusing as the video seems to speed up and skip over the row and moves on to the next. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to experiment and work it out on my own
Same happened to me
Same here
I was worried it was just me. For the life of me I can't figure out why she stops/starts three pegs from her starting peg when she starts using the secondary yarn color.
I joined My Looming Obsession on Facebook. She has it written out with the owner of the pattern's permission. Still a tad confusing but easier than the video
Same here
How would I do this on an even number peg
I think that this video is great! But I must admit that I am not content with my hat, because it is "see-through". The wind will blow through my head... I don't know why it is so different from yours. I have used two yarns (knitting needle 4-5 mm) as one, so it should be okay.
What size is the yarn for Canadians
Wowwwwwww So Beautyyyyy
Can you tell us the Gauge of the loom please thanks
Una pregunta porque usas bombilla para tejer ?
Para avanzar más rápido, pero es opcional 😊
so cute 😍
How i can make the pompom?
Oh my it was tight at first lol...
What did you do to finish of brim to make it loose. I thiught of wetting this. This can soo break pegs easily with the brim. I think next time will do the last row of something else then turn it to be a brim. Would love to have info. Results im frustrated
how would I do this on an 80peg loom?
where do you find the 80? I found a great pattern but only have a 40 peg loom....
I made the hat and it came out so nice but I knitted too loose 😞 how can I fix this ? Ty
For me to make it tighter instead of looping all the threads all the way around then bringing the lower loop over the top I did one at a time looping the lower over the upper one right away ,seemed to do the trick for me
Try using a heavier weight yarn.
(Hat in weave stick) in changing color better to use the needle with single old thread not by the new doubled color thread ;thank you too much
having a problem with my stiches at first they were way to tight and now they seem way to loose 😕😔😖
Crystal LeCain keep at it. It takes practice. Try putting your yarn in a straw
majcpw Mine did the same thing. 😞
Could you do this video again and do it slower. I watched a few times and I had several questions, see below. Thanks
You can actually change the speed in the video options..it works really well
What weight yarn did you use?
What size yarn are you using?
2 for UK and 10-10,5 for US.
Valena DIY Oh no! I thought you meant size 7 US! No wonder my hat is super loose. Thanks for the comment, I’ll try it with a thicker yarn.
@@ValenaDIY would i use a smaller loom for a size 4 yarn?
