      Why did this pattern go from being free to 3 dollars? I'm half way through and had to reset my phone and lost the pattern down load.

      Does the binding method also works for other things? Like neck warmers and stuff like that

      a knitting handbook I have actually has an introduction about the history of knitting. apparently it was developed from a technique called nalbinding, which is basically complicated embroidery without cloth that ends up looking like knitting, if that makes any sense. you start by making loops around a base strand and then "sew" more loops through those. so I guess knitting evolved from nalbinding, which evolved from sewing?
      I don't know about crochet.

    These are by far the best, easiest, clearest loom knitting how-to videos not just on UA-cam, but the the whole internet. Thank you for teaching us! When I finished my first project, a scarf, I was almost in tears, I actually did it! I had tried for years to knit, I always got so frustrated and I gave up...until I found loom knitting and your videos. Now, how about you tell us a bit more about the folk(s) behind the videos, who else here in Loomy Land wants to know? Lol, once again, thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!

      Does it matter how many pegs you use for the first panel and the attaching panels, as long as you follow the knitting pattern?

    • @jenniblansett7134
      @jenniblansett7134 5 років тому

      Jon Campos yes, you should repeat the same number of pegs to get a uniform look, good luck and happy looming! 🙂

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  5 років тому +7

      Hi Jon! You can use the number of pegs you prefer, it doesn't matter. In case you want to have the same width for all the stripes, just note this: for the first panel, there will be 2 pegs used to work the borders (the right border and the left border). For the rest of stripes, we will just use 1 of the pegs to work a border (to work the left border). So, if you want all the stripes to be 5-stitch panels, for example, you will need 7 pegs for the first panel and 6 pegs for the rest of panels 😊

    Thank you for showing how to join long strips of loom knitted pieces. Old habits are hard to stop and although you show how to connect the strips there is a struggle going on that the public will never understand. The joy of completing a project on a hand loom is a rewarding experience. I can knit now with knitting needles, but my first projects with the hand looms look much better.

      This does look easier than a 10 stich blanket. But I must say it is al in the saying practice makes perfect. I did 3 10 stitch blankets. The first was a disaster and I couldn't even finish it second 1 I did finch but it looks butt ugly and the 3 one came out okay but still has a long way to go to have te wow factor that 10 stitch blankets give me.

      I can't get the hang of the turns on the 10 stitch, but I'm onto my second colour on my version of this. I've made a few mistakes but nothing major and it's only for me anyway, and hopefully once I've completed it, I'll have no problems lining up the edges and getting the linking stitch correct. I'm amazed how fast it starts to come together!

    Just want to say thanks for this tutoria (and pattern on Ravelry). Started working on a blanket three weeks ago, and I'm practically done at this point. Ultimately, mine is going to be 4 feet wide, by about 5.7 feet long, if some of my measurements are accurate.

    About size of finished blanket, decide the "width" of the blanket you want. That is how LONG you knit your stripes! Measure a bed the widest you want the blanket is how long in length you knit each Stripe!! The mire stripes you add/connect/attach makes rhe LENGTH of your blanket. This can make a KING size blanket!!!! The loom does not need to be lqrger!! That very 1st Stripe she made is hiw wide the rug/blanket will be when finished. If yku wantbto add same length stripes to cover your bed just add on to your width Stripe which is the first one!

    I am 2/3 of the way done with this pattern. It’s for my 12 year old daughter. But the kitties seem to like it too. I’ve always got a snuggle crowd as I’m loom knitting. It’s not perfect (I bound off too tight on one panel and the type of yarn won’t let me fix it), but it’ll look just fine when I’m done! Thank you for this!
