- Korgis - Everybody's gotta learn sometimes 1980
Change your heart, look around you
Change your heart, it will astound you
I need your loving like the sunshine
And everybody's gotta learn sometime
Everybody's gotta learn sometime
Everybody's gotta learn sometime
Change your heart, look around you
Change your heart, it will astound you
I need your loving like the sunshine
And everybody's gotta learn sometime
Everybody's gotta learn sometime
Everybody's gotta learn sometime

Everybody's gotta learn sometime
Everybody's gotta learn sometime
Everybody's gotta learn sometime
(Instrumental)
So beautiful. Simple ,profound. I was 19 in 1980; I'm 61 now. This song holds truth within it.
likewise.
I agree 💯👍 ❤️🖤🤍💚🤎💛💜💙
I could not have put that better myself. I am also 61.
Have a lovely 61st year :)
🤣Me too! 11/1962 and in 2023 this is still so damned powerful👍🏻
I was 16 one of my favourite songs of 1980.
One of my all time favourite songs.
I bought their first album in 1978 and had been impressed with them. Then when this came out in 19080...I was floored and I was thrilled that they finally had a hit in the USA. I was working in small town radio at the time and played it as much as I could.
Do you know something, I never knew how much I loved this song til I heard it again on tv (U.K.) ashes to ashes , I’m sure Gene Hunt loves this too ,I think when you have left school n got you’re first girlfriend n made mistakes in life then look back on this song ,you finally realised you’ve understood & learnt more 💖💖
I'm here because of Ashes! It's just been uploaded to BBC Iplayer.
Me too
Love it
Sends goose bumps
The music from that show has been a wonderful trip down memory lane. A few new discoveries too. 🙂
Truly mesmerizing, haunting and beautiful.
A beautifully constructed song. Just amazing.😍
Ba ba ow wao wao!
Amazing love song. Who is that guys?
Beautiful send shivers up your back
All this time I thought Beck was the author of this song
Genuinly one of the best songs ever made.
I agree
@@jamiejohnston7183 Me too... it gives chills, so deep and emotional
Oh yeah superb hit from the 80s never tire of listening to this brilliant tune
❤️❤️❤️ Damn right❤️❤️❤️
yes. so haunting.
Courage.
🙏🙏😔😔
Bless x
God rest and God speed to your husband. May he and you find rest and peacefulness.
The original version from 1980 ....and the best by far!
A timeless classic.
Verdade.
laughs in baby d
I didn't know Bill Gates sang in a band.
Yeah! A Kind of mixture of Bill Gates and Pete Townshend
L O L !
😂
Funny. Before I saw you comment I was thinking: "If John Lennon and Bill Gates had a baby..."
And now you do....
Simple is always genius in a beautiful song
Reminds me of the long Summers as a teenager and how you felt immortal. Listening now is almost like a lament.
Very haunting sounding chord progression but also very mesmerizing.
One of my favourite songs. It was playing on the radio in 1980 just after a nasty thunderstorm. I was staring up at the clouds while listening to this. Never forgotten that moment.
I remember this from June and July 1980, when it was out in the U.K..
I was only young at the time, 4 years old. My family said this was a very thundery period in England, and June was particularly hot and humid at the start with severe thunderstorms.
This song captures the atmosphere of a humid thundery summer, or warm sunny summers day.
Know exactly that connection. Reminds me of being at Butlins in Minehead when in 1980 when i was 10. Haunting and evocative.
Pretty memory. Love when a song can hit at just the right moment like that and then last forever there, Locked in time.
We don't remember anything before we were born. We won't remember anything after we die. Maybe life is just remembering, and all we have in the end are memories. Bless you
I'm 158 years old and I like this song.
Also, who is listening still in the year 2057?
Please like this comment.
Yep still here! That blo*** time stabiliser on the TARDIS still needs work...
😂😂 you are funny.
Isn't it a pity ... isn't it a shame ..how we break each other's hearts and cause each other pain
Si tu n’as pas pleuré sur cette musique c’est que tu n’as jamais été amoureux….
Absolutely 👍
Music was great in the 80
And forever!
It was the era of love and melancholically.
Like no other.
Such a powerful decade, full of profound and passionate discovery.... In so many ways.
This tune is absolutely sensational ❤
You are so right
One of the best songs of the 1980 I was young and good looking ha ha now just good looking
Lol!
65 years old and still listening and love so much this song. Who else listening in 2022 !!!
Me too and I'm 63 this year, 2024. Great memories of my teen age years
60 2024 ❤️👍
I don't know how I missed this 80s song. I only first stumbled across it listening to Beck's version. I assumed he was the original artist.
I love this song, still after all those years .
Like this
Truly..a masterpiece......you cannot add to this piece of perfection....you know the feelings it stirs with you...and ohhh what emotions
Speechless ❤🎶
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
I feel pretty silly never hearing of this song or the Korgis...I was a child of the 60s 1980 ..ya I was still in love with my 60s n early 70s music. The Cars where a cool band n Talking Heads n Tom Tom Club.. I don't want to be an all 80s snob..lol
I wonder if it was released regionally? I grew up in West Hollywood but don't remember it on the radio...lol. that's great that we here knew the radio n albums, cassette n 8track. Great song .. I'm not sure if the
first string instrument he played was an oriental string zither of some sort ? Violin was beautiful too
.. Made it !
Not everybody. Just those with bad luck.
SUBTIL & SUBLIME!
Bien a vous tous!
Cyril
This song is so underrated!
VERY underrated !!!
Masterpieces don't need to be rated !
I m born in 1996 and this song is a amazing felling ....
Just waiting for the drum and bass to kick in lmao what a tune
Ellis Dee Fantazia 92 Mr Ellis. Cool surname brother.
It grew!!!!
Me too lol
Favorite of all time
@@stephenshayler-appleton7650 hahaha definitely mate I was 16 in 92 👍👍👍👌
Unbelievably haunting violin solo. Perfection.
I don't quite think, that for this is played neither a violin nor a saxophone. But any way it's a sweet solo.
Does any one know/remember in which film it occurs? O.k. I know it might have been used in quite some films since the '80s, because of it's true and universal message,
What a voice... Love this song..
Who knew that Bill Gates could sing.
AI robot gates.
This must be before he started Microsoft
What do you mean?
@@tanyarenaissance8829 probably he means the soloist looks like Bill Gates
Hahaha hahaha that was great. Nice one
What a tune. How many ravers remember this one ☝️
How can this classic only have 50K views? I am outraged!!!
120K now in Oct 19
We are a view group of humans who love it. Great song.

because theres hundreds of versions of this song on youtube
It may not be the most challenging lyrically, but, amazing music, and great vocals. Never bettered. The Korgis original is by far a country mile ahead of all the cover versions.
Totally agree with you
Very Lennon. Something on a deeper existential level.
Vou fazer 30 anos e sempre gostei dessa música desde crianca . Emocionante 👏🏼💖
This song makes me wanna be a better person
Beautiful comment😊
By the way... its bcos you are.. within you ... tc.
If that was all this band ever contributed to this world with that beautiful song they would have fulfilled their lifelong obligation.
It's a great song.. It's something I thought John lennon would of written. I guess he didn't write all the good songs in the world.
Didn't Beck write this? Not sure.
What a complete song. Melody, mood. lyrics a bit mysterious but that's OK - songs don't have to explain themselves.
It's a song about finding the true value of a person once you look past the superficial.
BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT
Saudades…. Tempo bom…. Música fantástica dos meus bailinhos! ❤
First heard this song as an early hardcore breakbeat track from the early 90s, then again as done by Beck for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Just now discovering the original. Holy shit...This is good.
Linda melodia
Magnifique chanson ❤❤
This is really something! Absolutely brilliant 👍
It’s great song, i like.
RIP Stuart Gordon - a wonderful violinist and a lovely man.
hey, what is this violin? 8 pegs, but only 4 strings?
They used a Guzheng instrument in the studio.
masterpiece no words
Something haunting about this track that echoes in the mind...
jenny taylor Haunting and beautiful.
@@duncansmith8992 a cover of this is in the soundtrack to "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" (sung by beck). It fits perfectly there.
Nalianna Nalianna, thanks for letting me know. I will check it out.

One of the best slow dance songs of it time 🙂
Música lindíssima.

Moi aussi
Makes me very nostalgic for my youth .
I first heard it over 40 years ago and I never get tired of it. The melody is so simple and great.
What year was this?
@hopppy54 1980. Sounds very 70’s Alessi Brothers.
Nossa!
Who listen in 2022 to 1980 music was class. Of 1980 listen to 1980
Me 😍
I love this song
Remember this. Beautiful piece.
One hell of a song.
