If I could 'like' this video 1 Billion times - I would do it right now. Moran Wasser shows us here that classical guitar still have room for incredible legends - he should have much wider recognition - what he does here, is not possible for almost all other guitarists. No kidding, I played all my life. This is super human.
The only other player that has elicited the same response of shock and awe for me was watching Alan Holdsworth play one of his many insanely otherworldly guitar solos. This gentleman has executed a piece of music on the guitar that i thought was completely impossible. I don't get spellbound by too many players after 45 years of playing, but this was one of those extremely rare moments. I believe even God herself canceled an afternoon meeting to watch this on UA-cam when it was originally uploaded. 😉
I'm commenting on your post a second time to acknowledge and echo your sentiments of incredulity as to why this video has only received 500K views. I have my opinions on the matter but I won't unpack them here because that's a rabbit hole nobody seems interested in going down. Suffice it to say, in a nutshell, real Art, true beauty and artistic expression in the higher energetic frequency bandwidth, is typically prioritized in favor of lower energetic 'pop culture' uploads. It's a Deep State thing and that's about as far as I want to travel down that particular subterranean network of tunnels. Peace.
Outstanding. I wouldn't have thought it possible to guitar this piece without sacrificing much of its complexity. Organists use all of their fingers and their feet to both choose and execute each note (12 body parts making sound). A guitarist is generally limited to the fingers of one hand to choose notes while the fingers of the other hand execute them (only 5 body parts making sound). Yes, I'm aware of "hammering" to make notes/sound with the neck hand, which can be taken to the extreme as when playing a Chapman Stick, but generally guitar notes are chosen with one hand and played with the other. I was a musician for about 50 years, until arthritis stole it from me, this man amazed me. I was a cellist, a guitarist, and a half-assed pianist. Played classical with an orchestra and blues/rock with bands. I wasn't great, but I was pretty good, and have just enough knowledge to realize what an accomplishment this performance was. Watching his fingers (on both hands) is like watching a spider create an exceedingly complex web, and he did it with a calm ease that only seems possible with a less demanding piece.
I've been playing guitar for many many years, though I've just taken up classical guitar. This piece was astounding, and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thought of a spider when I watched his hands!

I am a guitarist and I was completely mesmerized by your playing. Thank you for bringing such perfection to my ears! Bravo. Your hard work, practice, and professionalism is much appreciated.
But why we even need any like Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, or any of those classical composers, today everyone is using their music, for base of their modern things, Heavy rock, pop even blues and such, Think about this one, Listen Synfonity, only electric quitars and basses, and it is suberb instrumental version in modern days instruments.
None of the best guitarists are even comparable to each other due to skills being so divergent, and that no one yet can possess them all. That being said, this artist is phenomenal.
Never would have thought it possible to play this piece on a guitar. Must have taken months, years to perfect this. Incredible arrangement and musicianship. Thank you and bravo.
To perfect a piece it takes that time. Even little easy pieces to really master it could take time. It s about optimisation everytime... Even here with this 11 strings we got a bit too much doomy sound. But I m not sure he can do better. Maybe....maybe a bit in post prod also
Unbelievable musicality beyond the technical prowess. It's hard to appreciate just how much work there is behind this. This transcription opens a whole new dimension to the piece, and it is truly marvellous to hear how the instrument is utilized to it's full expressive potential in it's own specificity. It's fair to say the composer would have loved to hear his music played like this. Sir you are one of the Greats.
This artist demonstrates the strange flexibilty that JSBach invites. It certainly brings out elements I didnt think about before. Much more than a transcription, its more that Bach left enough room for many instruments to shine. This certainly works for guitar. Thank you sir.
Listeners take this for granted. See the difference between Harpsichord and a Grand Piano. There is almost nothing in common except a limited number of keys that hopefully suffice the notes. Even the Harpsichord and a Clavichord are vastly different. But Bach fits all and with bravado. How? Because the music is so great that it is simply worth the time one need to invest to explore this with this - again. With all instruments beauty will shine. What a mind! I like best the beginning of the fugue - I feel that no instrument will satisfy this music, but string instruments, as I learned here, come pretty close.

The time it only takes to arrange Bach‘s masterpiece for an 11 string guitar must be tremendous. What a gift to humanity both this arrangement and recording is. Thank you, Moran 🙏🏻
It's amazing that you are able to play that fugue brilliantly technically and at the same time absolutely incredible musically. It almost sounds like this composition was composed for guitar. Incredible work. ❤❤❤
Kudos.
Sensational. Arrangement, execution, technique all outstandingly good. One of my favourite instrumentalists on any instrument. Why this man hasn’t got records out all over the world is a mystery. Bravo, Moran, and thank you.
Incredible, I auditioned for college with Philliphii's rendition... This is so much more intricate and wonderful. I can't even comprehend what I'm seeing
Bach Catalogue is so huge also because he used to transcribe his works (and sometimes also those of others composers) for as many instruments he could figure out... That helped as one potential "customer" or benefactor for his music might be an amateur musician of one instrument, and one of another... And Bach always struggled to gain enough money to grow his family... I would not be surprised if this adaption was, in fact, by Bach himself
This recording caught my attention and I had to listen through it all. Amazingly well played, it is as if the piece was written for guitar. Exceptional. Hope to be able to listen to this super human live some day.

I have watched many arrangements for this piece on guitar now, but absolutely not a single one stands close to this supremely sublime piece of art. Just pure joy for my eyes and ears.
Absolutely wonderful. The dedication it took to learn, let alone play this, is something to behold. Praise be, my friend. To you, and of course Bach, without whom human existence may have been meaningless, if not an outright mistake!

I'm 63 and have been playing guitar since I was 16 years old. I've always been told I'm a very good musician, that I'm quite creative and able to play very fast. I consistently thank the person and also tell them that there are countless players around the world who are significantly more skilled than I. My reaction to this video is not unlike my experience the first time I viewed Alan Holdsworth play one of his many insanely difficult and ridiculously fast guitar solos. You sir, like the late great Mr Holdsworth, are a truly unique and gifted soul. I contemplate the hours of practice i would have to expend in order to play this piece and i calculate that it would be in the neighborhood of something like 4 hours a day for about 12 to 16 months. And even after that investment of time and energy, there is no guarantee that i would be able to pull it off. My most grateful appreciation for this upload my good man. This is absolutely amazing stuff! ❤
Wow! That was seriously impressive. As a Classical Guitarist, I have a pretty good idea just how difficult that must have been to transcribe and figure out a way of playing such a piece which is not at all idiomatic to the guitar's design. Congrats. That was totally enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Having the notes ring over each other and the ability to keep the tone changing make this arrangement better than the original 4 organ in many ways. Guitar is more expressive and the 11 strings provide enough range.
The most & arguably only truly, convincing guitar version aided by a guitar with adequate range and a performer with superb musicianship & flawless technique. Ordinarily I'd be hesitant about keyboard arrangements played on guitar but the campanella fingering & arpeggios sound genuinely idiomatic. Fantastic.
Yep, probably one of the finest guitar performances ive watched in a very long time. Its hard to believe i can just be scolling and stumble upon such an incredible video. No words to tell you how good that was.
