Your explanations are far better in helping to visualise processes than most YT channels that only repeat the technical basics of "X happens, weight goes forward" that we already know. Sometimes it is metaphors and visualising terms that help people visualise what is happening while they are driving.
Yep! the visual of hanging the rear inside 'by it's 'last shred of fingernail' illustrates the 'edge' to aim for and the need for calmness of executinon. But who TF, other than the Great Walenda (sic?) wouldn't pucker hangin over Niagara Falls by their fingernails? Answer.... Aliens! Something to aim for and work at. Thanks. This stuff is gold. Just subbed. Definately an 'A-Hah!
I'm late to catch all of these turorials, but am so glad I discovered your channel! I appreciate your descriptions ,enthusiasm and positive teaching style. Thanks so much!
this video is amazing. I’ve subconsciously felt everything you have mentioned here, but I’ve never visualized it like this and I think it will help a ton. your analogy of the rear inside tire holding on by a pinky fingernail is brilliant, push the car but not so hard that that fingernail can’t hold on!
@@dannyleeracing Question: When you stiffen an ARB on the front/rear does it "add" grip to the front/rear? I also wanted to suggest that in a future video in order to explain the inside rear tire having less grip, you could perhaps refer to karting, where the inside wheel lifts on tight corners (as there is no suspension it shows weight shifting purely), and how it is used to rotate the kart.
Thanks Danny. Just come back to iracing and I'd been practicing around Lime Rock. In the Skippy I felt reasonably comfortable with what I was doing. Sometimes I'd spin, but usually I'd have an idea why. I'd been trying to drive the Street Stock around Lime Rock and despite driving really slowly, I still kept spinning off in the corners. I think you've filled in the blanks for me. I was fairly comfortable with front/back weight transfer but hadn't been thinking about left/right. Thanks :)
great video - i remember seeing Jackie Stewart explaining the process of setting a car up for a corner .. warning it to not unbalance many years ago - its funny & worth checking out if you haven't seen it
wow you easily have the best sim racing technique videos out here! i appreciate the fuck out of you going so out of your way to make so many examples and show them on video. the bus handle one was so good.
Can you make a video explaining why it looks like people are fighting their wheel or when turning they keep moving their wheel over and over again in the direction theyre turning instead of it being a smooth movement?
Well said mate and does help me to remember this stuff while driving as I tend to want to go around the corners faster than I should and either go off the edge of the track or start to spin out, thanks mate well done.
THANK YOU! I have been struggling since day one. I learned to trail brake, but I am turning to hard. I have been very frustrated with myself and seldom join any real races because I always seem to spin out sooner or later.
Why I keep spinning?? I'm barely touching the gas pedal in the exit of the curves. It takes just a tiny amount of throttle and a small turn on the wheel to make the car go crazy and spin ruining my entire lap. Great video btw
Corner exit for me, can't keep the rear under control as I throttle up at times, very twitchey, def slows me down trying to maintain control as no confidence in the rear
2:27 ... *_ehh?!_* Okay fine, tighten grip, but ... left turn? lean right. Right turn, lean left. /*blink*/ Okay, car's body can't lean into the turn so yaaa ... but point is: you prepare for the lean that's coming at you.
LOVING your instructional stuff. You bring a great point of view to the challenges.
Cheers man, I love doing them even if producing them always bring me to the edge of insanity! Thanks for the kind feedback
this made me 4+ seconds a lap faster, now im constantly one of the faster drivers in lobbies. You gave some great advice!! 💯
That's awesome, bet that makes you feel great!

Thanks man, too kind - I do aim to keep things away from getting too technical, I try to scratch that 'A-ha' nerve in the brain through other ways

Literally a better driver already, the race after watching this, thank you
Awesome, man!

Thanks Rick! I hope they're all useful in some way
Probably the best video and explanation I seen on cornering
This is dynamite -- best tutorials on car handling and dynamics I've come across!
Thanks so much! Plenty more where this came from in my playlists

I have been thinking about this but haven't found anywhere this has been illustrated this brilliantly
9:56 😂😂😂😂😂
This is honestly one of the best videos on yt on this topic.
So in the exam fart analogy, drifters are just shamelessly going for the longest and loudest fart possible...
They are shameless
1:37 What did I just watch?😂😂😂 Nice video as always:)
Thanks man, cheers for always watching!

Your videos are brilliant, Danny. For an old duffer like me, just so well narrated and easy to listen to.
Thanks man, really appreciate the feedback!
Your analogies are always spot on m8
9:50 Best example ever!! I understand clearly now !
Thanks so much for the feedback, I hope it really helps!

Not seen that, I ought to!

Thanks man, always gives me a great lift when folks take a minute to give feedback like this - hope it helps inspire something!
Great instructions and footage. Thanks for sharing
Great video with cristal clear explanation. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks very much - it's my pleasure

Thanks man, good feedback is like fuel in the tank! Good luck with all the racing!
AT 1:47 If you look at the little screen at the right it looks like hes driving backwards, even the steering inputs seem to line up
Ummm yea cause he was rewinding the footage lol
ACKSHUALLY it's the rear view mirror in that car. It uses a rear camera and displays it on that little screen! I just didn't think to block it out.
@@dannyleeracing Why would you want to block it? it's a cool feature.
Brilliant video. Learnt so much from this, thanks!

You're very welcome - trust me, sounds like you're standing on the edge of greatness now. Keep going!
Super video once again Danny.
Thanks man, appreciated!

What car do you use?
Great lesson and visualization! Thank you!

I was the 1,000th like! Cheers mate
Thanks for making me laugh Danny, don’t think I have seen a flatulent Ferrari before 😂
Have you heard the new 296 GT3?
Very informative video!
Transitioning from MX5 to Fixed Ferrari. Do you do 1:1 lessons Danny? 😊
I don't do 1:1's yet.........................
@@dannyleeracing 😉😉👍🏾
Hahaha the little fart noise
