- It's almost time for the Guerrilla to go back to Royal Enfield, having had the bike for a few weeks, have I changed my mind about it? NOTE: This was recorded a few weeks ago.

I love mine 😊 Fitted heated grips and a powered quad lock for my iPhone. I’ve seen 160 KPH indicted, probably around 150+. That’s enough to lose your licence here in NZ, so I’m happy enough! Puts a smile on my dial every time I ride it. It’s my only bike and manages every task. I’ve owned bikes from a 1974 50cc Gilera to a Hyabusa and everything in between like an RD500 and a HD Ultraglide, and this bike is FUN 🤩 Great review! Keep up the good work 🙏
I think I read that the term Guerilla was first used to describe the Spanish campaign against Napoleon’s invading army over 200 years ago. They couldn’t defeat him in a conventional battle, so used hit and run tactics. It roughly translated as “small war”. So not necessarily terrorist related.
PS thanks for the fab review, passed on to a neighbour who’s thinking of upgrading from a 350 RE. Keep them coming, I’ve given up Facebook for New Year so you are now my main entertainment 🤣
I see others have covered this, apologies for the unnecessary lesson
@@whiskywhippet We're all adjusting to this new normal. It's tough when we can't hear the echo, but the UA-camr can.
@@whiskywhippet It's 100% necessary if people just casually call them Ts.
@@WeaselKonigThank you, it pi$$ed me off when he said it, especially considering what's happening in the world. But love his reviews and sure it wasn't ill intended.
I like the fact it has it own unique look and doesn’t try to emulate something else
Yes good looking bits it's a Ducati copy. Still looking good
After many years of bikes of all varieties I can honestly say this catagory is the most appealing today. Big Adventue bike craze wont go on forever.. All the best sir for 2025
A golden era for Royal Enfield
Look back to where they were ten years back. It certainly is their time to shine.
@@samhill3496 as a younger rider I think they do great styling and colour ways. And price can't beat paying less for still a great bike. not everyone can get a new GS!
@@FrozenDung that's right. I started riding 60 yrs ago. All it needed was a motor and wheels. Ride whst you got and see all you can see while you can. I did and have no regrets. It all takes time
Wake up to 40 cm snow...
So good with a motorcycle video from you 😊.
Hny from Norway
Happy new year to you and yours… Is there a net zero govt policy in Norway?
The 2025 seems to be a great year for RE. The Guerilla is already a "WANTED ONE" among smaller capacity bikes. I like it too. Thanks for another great video Andy. Keep going in 2025. Cheers.
I think this one looks better than the Speed 400. Much better actually.
Happy new year!
More elegant, more refined in a way. That's my opinion. Can check my content when you can. Cheers bro.
I’m lucky to have had both and the RE is by far the better bike. Easy to get bored on the Triumph
Love your British towns and their roundabouts ... Looks like a fun little commuter bike! Happy New Year Andy! Cheers from Texas.
Happy new year!
My ‘Gold Dip’ Geurrilla has been pdi’d and waits at the showroom for me as I write (I added heated grips). It’s my first post-125cc bike and channels like this were really helpful to me in making the purchase decision - this one in particular. A Tuareg 660 and Triumph Trident are to be added later in 2025. Go me. Happy New Year and all the best.
Congratulations Colin and enjoy!
As a motorcycle rider (and buyer ) for 51 years, I can confirm, we bikers are neurotic impulse shoppers. One caveat is; motorcycles are my pressure release valve. I have also raised 4 thriving children, I'm a grand father. I have not had an accident, or a traffic ticket in 30 years.
So I have compartmentalized my crazy.
Thanks for all of the great videos last year - long may it continue and Happy New Year to you and Carol
Happy new year!
I found out about ACF 50 because of you. I apply it to my DR650 every winter. Now I get the odd ride out during the Canadian winter. Big thanks for that!…PS…I sure wish there was a Royal Enfied dealer close to me…I’d have a few more bikes in the garage.
As modern bikes go it looks better than those grotesque mechanical insects that tend to pass for motorcycles these days . The only niggles I can see , are the paint job looks like they ran out of red paint & finished it in gold . The speedo needs repositioning looks weird being over to one side & would prefer a proper cable operated throttle & just standard clutch & gears . That ACF 50 is to treat the inside of airframes to prevent condensation causing corrosion , not for parts exposed to attack from direct road & salt spray . I only use it on the inside of box steel swing arms on motorcycles. The hosing off the salt after every salty winter ride as you suggest is the best method to help combat or limit salt & road spray corrosion . Happy new year by the way 👍
It´s finaly time to say Thank you Triumph. Your 400 brought us finaly small affordable bikes again
Morning Andy, thanks for a good review on the Guerrilla, still waiting for mine to appear at the dealership, hopefully won't be to long now. Looking forward to more of your videos for 2025, Happy New year to you and Mrs Flyer.
...and to you!
Really ! I got mine in one week delivered.
A great start to the ‘New Year’, a new vid from TMF. The days are getting longer (slowly) and the 2025 biking season is getting closer.
Here’s to a great biking year Andy, I’m wondering what adventures you will be using your new enclosed trailer for ? 🥂🍾
Coming soon!
Very best wishes for 2025. Thanks for all your hard work, love the channel 🍻
Much appreciated!
Happy New Year! Just one point that is worth mentioning when comparing this to the Triumph 400's, especially when weighing up running costs, is that with this being over 400cc it will be in a higher tax band every year which is currently £30ish per year, not a deal breaker, but who knows in future years.
Great point!
Happy new year 🎇🎉
and thanks for the show 🙏🏽
Always a pleasure 😊
Happy new year!
the problem with vibrations on bike tests = is that the bikes are usually new , these will settle down a bit when run in ;;
Hi Andy …. I agree… really good bike … they have managed to get the look right on this .. they proportions and lines from tank through to the back of the seat are much improved from some of their other models … I have alway maybe wrongly seen Royal Enfield as the Dacia of the motorcycle world … I mean that as a compliment… Great review .. Thanks Mike😊
Very nice and well priced, did I see a centre stand or were my eyes deceiving me as you never mentioned such. The speedo set up is so more appealing than that on the Triumph, we are definitely spoiled for choice thanks for sharing Andy 👍
I've seen your reviews on this and other REs and also read viewers' comments. What impresses me most is that there is hardly a single negative opinion about REs! Are they really that good despite being built to a budget?
Having not bought a bike for 8 years now, I'm feeling the itch again. The thing is, I already run 2 bikes and a scooter and would not like to replace any of them. I'm a firm believer in using bikes as often as possible. Each of my bikes gets ridden between 2,000 and 5,000 kms per year. Having more bikes would mean there is a greater probability that they simply lie in the garage for days/weeks on end with all the negative consequences that this entails. Great video as always, by the way!
Thank you! ….and yes, RE produce great value bikes….
Watch motor inc review for actual negatives
Thanks for another review of this motorbike which, once again hasn't given me any reason not to look at it as a future purchase. Well done RE.
Fair enough!
There are Guerrilla Gardeners, randomly planting flowers and plants in urban places. ;)
4:50 - I see why the sub 500 market is tough to crack. The established reviewers are so accustomed to $25,000 bikes that they really don't care about anything else. It's like Top Gear as they basically only reviewed supercars for billionaires.
edit: I'm proud of you for "suffering" through that review. Us peasants need content too.
I don’t think that’s true at all - I’m sorry you feel that way. Maybe I can offer you a refund?
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes, you may make the offer. Criticism can be difficult to hear and harder to read. For getting through this you don't need to "refund" my time or anything. The point is that you actually listen instead of banking criticism in the "ignorant haters" section of your memories.
A lot of people feel shut out of the market. To get reviews that are honest about bikes under $7,000 I have to look up India UA-camrs! To you, all of them are "poors" in a "developing nation" where those bikes are actually loved and respected... To you it's such a drag to ride that bike... That's how I felt when repairing wine coolers for millionaires. I felt no attachment or attraction to their lifestyle, or the things that I made to facilitate it.
@Ali-e5h1b an interesting perspective. I hadn't thought of it like that, but you have a point. I feel similarly attached to my humble €4000 second hand 18 year old 650 thumper. It was much slandered at the time, but for me it is my ticket to freedom and adventure; my therapist actually (yes, that old adage).
I have recently enjoyed the blogs of Nathan the Postman, who is much more humble in his appreciation of the basic (read: better?) bikes.
When i decided to change my bike i looked at the Triumph, the RE and the Eliminator and chose the later. The RE was my next choice but the build quality and the sportier 451 engine did it for me. The Guerilla i really liked but the Kawasaki just had that extra Japanese class, in my opinion.
Saw one in the flesh today for the first time. Thought it was a great bike with the following minor exception. Clutch was heavy and the lever was something out of the ark. New modern levers required but otherwise well worth a test ride.
Up to nearly 3,000 miles on my Guerilla since September, brilliant bike. Only one negative is all the tech on the dash screen that works via a joystick, for us old uns its not needed and indeed I'm not sure mine is working correctly. The base model comes with an analogue speedo and tripper sat nav, far better option for me.
Tried both the Triumph and the Guerilla and there's no contest, the Guerrilla wins hands down. Also the Triumph appears to be a troublesome bike at the moment with many owners complaining about reliability, availability of parts etc. Glad I went for the Guerrilla.🙂👍
I'm old and I like the digital dash. Works well and not too much info to distract.
I’ll take an analog speedo every time.
One person’s guerilla is another’s freedom😂. Happy New Year
Going to order one in march..only problem is which colour..i did plan on the brava blue..but after being at the dealer and seen the gold dip in the flesh and the gorgeous playa black..which reminds me of my old yamaha rd350lc..have a few months yet to make my mind up..And its far better looking than the triumph 400. 😂😂
The name Guerilla is definitely more catchy than 'Freedom Fighter'. I don't think the word has 'terrorist' connotations at all, as one of your earlier commentators has pointed out.
But the bike is a whole lot of fun!
Sycamore Royal Enfield, Peterborough has the Bear in stock now I believe. I'm looking forward to a test ride!
Love and peace.
Me too! Cheers....
Happy New Year Andy! I hope 2025 is a fantastic year for you, Carol and your family.
Same to you!
Just put in an order for a Guerilla at Millennium motorcycles your video was the push I needed to prise open my wallet.
Congratulations!
Great thanks 🙏 and I'm now going to watch the 1st installment,, from Northern Ireland ☘️☘️☘️ Happy New Year 🎊🎊
Same to you!
Nice review, thanks for braving the cold.
Any time!
The Triumph Speed 400 does look prettier, but the Guerrilla 450 looks like an excellent bike for the price. If you went for the Guerrilla 450 in Smoke Silver, which looks nice, it's only £4850! Not only that, but Royal Enfield sometimes have promotions and offers on. They've just had an 'Autumn Reward' offer on some of their other bikes, and they were giving either £650 reward towards an Interceptor or Super Meteor 650, or £350 reward towards a HNTR 350 or the Meteor 350. You can't argue with those prices for a brand-new bike! The Guerrilla 450 would be an excellent choice for commuting, it's light and agile, it's cheap to run, the fuel economy is about ~70mpg, and it's got just enough poke for when you need it, what's not to like!
Good job Andy. Nice bike. I'd just as soon have one of those with 50/50 tires to ride the gravel trails of the Appalachians. Glad you addressed the vibs. I can handle that. All good from east Kentucky USA mate. I have a new Royal Enfield/BMW/CF Moto/Indian dealer not far from home now. Have to check it out. Full stock of Himalayans and 600's. Happy New Year to you and Mrs.
And to you Sam!
Happy New Year, Andy. All the best to you and your family.
Same to you!
Morning Andy. Happy New Year to you, let’s hope 2025 gives us better weather than the last two years 🤞. I use a Garmin Zumo XT (as I often find myself in area’s of poor or zero mobile internet), the speedo reading compared to GPS is +2mph. When riding on mucky roads, the back end really does get covered in c**p, largely due to the hopeless hugger thingy, but the Guerrilla is so easy to clean. From really mucky to nice and clean in 10 minutes. Cheers
I've found one "BIG" negativity.!! At the pricing, I'd be forced into buying at least 3 RE's. The problem is, which 3.?? ... and the garage is full now at 5 bikes. My neighbors either think I'm going mad or having the so much fun that I'm acting like I'm 20 again. What a predicament.!! Happy New Years 🥳🥳 and if you're like me no hangover was had. In bed at 11 pm., and dreaming of a spring moto ride. 👍👍
Yes roll on Summer! (No hangover here either)
I'm 78 years old .... when l throw me' leg over the bike I'm a lot younger .!!!
Bear 650, classic 650 and a 450 himalyan
@@johnlenart597 Shotgun 650, Bear 650 and the "Guerilla" 😉
But, like you, I'd need a second garage
Happy enough with my Shotgun 650, but think it might be my last RE. Unless the newly "seen out testing" Himalayan 650 takes me in 2026!
Happy New Year to you and your family. Looking forward to all the new bike reviews for 2025
Same to you!
Best bike channel on UA-cam ! When you taking us up in your plane again Andy ?
....in the summer (I'm a fair weather flyer)....
The term Guerilla is not a terrorist, if you look it up basically it means, freedom fighters, unofficial military group...
That's right and is a similar term to rebel which is already in use by Honda.
I have referred your acf50 video to many new and experienced bike owners over the years!
I’ve never looked back but I use a paint brush rather than the spray bottle !
Happy new year TMF 🎉
Cool, thanks!
I wish I learnt to use a paintbrush when applying ACF50. My bike has so much sticky gunk on it
Interesting reflections. Seems like a really decent offerring for a great price too.
If motorbikes just sat in queues, the queues would be longer….so be happy we skip them. HNY and Think Bike.
Happy New Year Andy. Nice video and sounds like a very fair bike. Another way to keep your best bike free from salt is to never ride through winter on your own bike. Use someone else's!!!!!
Very true!
Happy New Year Andy. Nice bike.
Happy new year!
' Bruce would say in a strange camp voice ' ...🤣🤣🤣! Nice round up review TMF, it's a nice bike especially for the price. Happy New year to you and Carol and your family. Cheers Steve
Cheers Steve!
At 4:00 mins, your voice seems to be conveying the ambient temperature 🥶. Keep up the good work in 2025 👍
In my opinion this endfields best bike to date.
With Hunter styling it would’ve been unbeatable
@@hectorshouse7348 yeah
endfield or Enfield?
It’s no wonder it feels peppy. To put it in perspective it’s more powerful than a 350 Manx Norton!
Happy new year to you and the family
Same to you
Great review as ever Andy, I am in such a dilema with which bike to go for this year. All the reviews for the Guerrilla and the Triumph 400X appear to have them on par with each other, I love the scrambler look of the Triumph but the RE is still calling me 🙀. Choices, choices, oh well its a good position to be in I guess, heres to to a great biking 2025!
I second that!
Happy New Year to you
Happy new year
Well said I'm happy with what I have👍👍👍Have a great 2025 to you and your family, thanks for all the great vids
Thanks, you too!
Happy New Year Andy. All the best for 2025. If you’re down near Toulouse this year and fancy finding the decent way down to the Pyrenees, give me a shout.
Cheers Steve!
Guerrillas are not terrorists. Guerrilla is a tactic that any military force can utilize to gain the upper hand in the long run by avoiding where the enemy is strong and attacking when and where they are weak and is not just confined to physical force, but can utilize psychological and propaganda tactics as well to boost friendly morale and hurting enemy moral.
Guerrilla tactics can be used in both rural and urban environments. Same with this bike. It can be used in both environments.
Cheers!
Looks a great little bike…
Not that I’d be in the market for one… but….the off centre clock and ignition would do my head in!!! 💁🏻♂️😅
This is one of the bikes I am considering for the Philippines. It has to be 400+cc to use the skyway’s(freeways). This bike doesn’t break the bank. Support from a dealer network will be a potential issue.
Dealers in Makati and Pasig on Luzon, kuya Doug, Dealers also in Cebu City in the Visayas and Dipolog in Mindanao. But given that you're mentioning the Skyway, I'd guess you're in Manila, or it'd probably be the NLEX/SCTEX if you're Angeles way... Just be careful on the EDSA, that central bike-lane is bloody lethal!
@ thanks for the feedback I appreciate it
Happy New year to you both.
Happy new year!
All the best. :)
RE are on a roll with affordable bikes, the bike boys need to take note....
After your video on ACF50 I bought some, never got round to using it on the bike but on a few other things.
RE's for the price, build and reliability it's difficult to bag them when used as RE intended.
Not my first choice for flat open Australia but exploring Asia or India it would be my go to choice.
Happy new year Andy and to your family.
first video of 2025, 🤞🏻 for a great year of biking content from yourself. 👍

I prefer the Fantic Caballero 500. Especially the new version..
Maybe the world needs a guerilla 650 ?
Nice review, seems like a nice bike. The only thing that puts me off, (vertically challenged), is the lack of factory seat height lowering solutions. I know there are aftermarket bits for the Himalayan and possibly others, but it woukd be nice if they catered 'at source' for little people. (Most Indians I know, aren't that tall!).
Happy new year to you and your family, wishing you Health, Wealth and happiness for 2025 🥂
Happy New Year.
And to you David!
This is the best colour combination they offer for this model, to my opinion. I have anly tried sitting on it, but it was one of the ergonomically best bikes of the EICMA! Considering the speed limits of today, it's probably the best bang for the bucks you can get. If it also doesn't vibrate like crazy at 120 km/h, then it's a winner. Did you have any issues with false neutrals? I've had that on Classic 350 and Shotgun 650 test bikes. This is for me a big warning sign regarding the durability...
The reason bikes like this puts a smile on your face it's because it's simple not like some very EXSPENIVE electronic nightmare 's which when they go belly up can drive many to suicide!
Happy New Year. Hope 2025 will be a good years for you and yours.
BJ
Same to you!
HNY Flyers! I think I’d still be tempted tbh. At £5k for something brand new to hack around on, that looks like it does, I don’t think you can go wrong.
Happy New Year. Living in a big hose is overrated mate. So many rooms to heat... and the maintenance costs. OK, there's room in the garage for a few bikes but as a single man, I only really need 2 rooms!
Love the Guerilla but I'd want a Bear too.... And maybe a Super Meteor
Is Royal Enfield Guerilla any worse name than Ducati Streetfighter or Norton Commando? At least it doesn’t have the overtly criminal connotations of a Suzuki Bandit.
I’d have preferred if they had named it Gorilla 😂
Happy new year
Same to you
Love your bike reviews, for me a couple of extras i would like to see in general - Bit more on mpg. How difficult to put on the centre stand. Service costs. The 450 REs need valve clearances at 6k, which is a both cams removed job😢
Noted!
Your lucky, blue sky haven’t seen that for a while!
No me neither!
I wonder if you are planning to try out the Kawasaki zx-4rr. 400cc inline 4, I know you like small displacement bikes, this one seems to be the perfect one. Looks awesome.
Yes I’d love a go! Maybe in the summer…
Baffles me that in the 21st century we still use salt on roads. Surely there's some sort of alternative that doesn't kill vehicles, concrete, creeks, soil... Giving expensive vehicles cancer on purpose is just nuts not to mention expensive and the other impacts.
Can heat them like in Reykjavik but it's only good if you have lots of free energy like Icelandic geothermal
Age has turned me into a Fairweather rider, in other words a 'Wimp'...However l still remember how awful it was having to ride in the winter months with no electrically heated anything... You're correct about the terrible corrosiveness of the salted roads, Certainly the number one enemy of any motorcycle. Probably best to avoid riding in such conditions if at all possible...l suspect its a lot easier now as most Bikers own cars as well... Have a prosperous New Year for you Andy and your wife...
You too Brian!
I've been riding motorcycles for 34 years and for most of that time I've not had a car. But after careful consideration over all those years, I've come to the conclusion that winter riding is not much fun. Avoiding winter riding is not being a wimp, it's being sensible, if you can avoid having to....
In The Netherlands it’s the same price as the Triump.
With the fancy color even a bit more expensive; €6.899,-
How about long distance touring on this bike?
I see that you're taking-out the funeral procession 😂!
I passed a stopped line of cars waiting for a flagger with one lane closed in Vermont years ago. When I got to the front of the pack the flagger straddled my front tire, grabbed my handlebars, and yelled to the other flagger to call 911! They were screaming that I was a maniac and they held me until the police arrived. America has very conservative views on filtering/ lane sharing.
Oh, i'm sure you can squeeze in another review of it 😅 HNY
HNY from California
Morning Andy, Happy New Year. If and when you get to try the 650 scrambler, you could tell us what accessories are a requirement for it. You could title it “Bear Necessities” 😁.
Ooh nice!
NYD liked the vid, the video not clear for me except for the foreground. HNY😎🇨🇦
Is the lack of traction control an issue? Deciding between this and the speed 400
No, not an issue at all.
Triumph Scrambler 400 beats this hands down for me. Longer servicing intervals, far more comfortable to ride if you are taller.
Fair enough!
Nice vid. The offset clock upsets me 😂.
As for salt on the road. What about if it's dry? Would I need to wash it off still?
I had the dealer already apply protection but that was 9 months ago.
Now the gritters are out I will still ride but only in the dry.
Do i need to wash it down?
I would yes….
Wish you a very happy n prosperous New Year 2025 💐🍰
All the very best for 2025 😊
Happy New Year to you and Mrs “Flyer.” A great bike there, but do you think it could be made even better by fitting more road type tyres on it, or are the stock ones fine?
Is there much of a waiting time in the UK to purchase a new Guerrilla and are all the colours available?...I enquired yesterday about the Guerrilla where I live in Australia and was told there was only 2 colours available to choose from and they were 2023 models..I told them I was after a new bike, not a 2023 second hand one...Can you get hold of the 2024/25 model in UK easy enough?
I don't know - sorry!
